Keep it up Bro! Sugar-coating low quality gear won't help anyone. You definitely get what you pay for. Good boards ain't cheap and cheap boards aint good!
Don who’s one of the owners/engineer of Hamboards has now made it possible to change out the trucks to 3 different baseplate angles options and 3 different hanger widths options so you can customize your personal riding style. I think a rear baseplate angle of 0 and and a rear hanger width of 160mm makes the Hamboard Pescadito perform more like a regular surfskate. Hopefully either Hamboards or Surfskate Love can do a review with the different combos. Keep up the great work Steve. You provide a valuable service to the Surfskate community!
Thanks so much! This is just a personal preference, I'm not hating on it, but I don't have any interest in trying to modify a Hamboards. The real problem is that it has two carving trucks on front and rear. What makes other surfskate trucks work is the combination of the swiveling front truck and a stable rear truck. So if you wanted to make them perform more like other surfskates, that's the first thing to modify. But aside from that, I don't like those Original trucks at all. They break hard once you lean into them. Not smooth carving at all. To me, it's a totally boring ride. I like to go fast downhill. Hamboards are just not my thing.
@@SurfskateLove Okay, thanks for the honest reply. That’s why I like your reviews so much. We know where getting your honest unfiltered opinion! Oh and my favorite trucks on my other Surfskates are Carver CX’s!!
Amazing video ! Thank you for doing what you're doing with this channel : not a lot of people put as much effort as you do into providing quality content for surfskaters, or potential surfskaters : i love your channel ! ❤
Interesting video, thanks for sharing. I am living in South Africa and have had a charger x board for years, believe it or not they are one of the most popular boards for surf skating in South Africa with many many surfers actually taking preference to them over carver. I thinks it's strange you have categorised it as a bad board. Perhaps in the USA people have a larger range of choice but as a surfer I have enjoyed it and found it helpful for my surfing.
That’s strange to me. It doesn’t have nearly the same range of motion as a carver and the component parts are very poor quality. All personal preference, I guess. 🤷♂️
I sold my Carver CX because I got a charger-x and it had better turn an lean - so I really can't understand how Mr expert Steve can simply label them bad, without properly reviewing them or comparing them back to back with other CX clones.
@@scottzuki7803 Yeah I must say I have definitely not found the same criticism here in South Africa they are well loved as a brand and they have preformed well with some intensive surf skaters
I do believe HAMBOARD is categorized as a Stand Up Paddle Skate or SUP Skate. Kinda like the 40inch Aztron Space deck I use for my surfskate shenanigans. Great video as always 🔥
Muchas gracias
Hi!! Why u don't recommend Nkx? I have One, and certainly Seems more a cruiser than a surfskate : less high fron floor, less turn ratio.... I use the NKX deck with an Aliexpress smoothstar-clone adapter and the functionality increases, but i never try an autentic complete surfskate.... 😔
I went with the CX Caver pack with the 70mm Round house wheels. So far I really like it. I mounted it to a Powell Peralta OG Ripper board, so it’s really flat with a mellow kick tail. I might change that board any recommendations?
Nope. Personally, I wouldn’t trust them. I also don’t like supporting clones. I’m not a fan of Chinese manufacturers violating patents to produce cheap knock-offs.
Oh, that's just one small piece of my investment, haha. And it will be a good while before I earn it back. I have a few things here: www.surfskate.love/
Ooh, that's a good question. Hard to answer. Personally, I would go for the Hydroponic because I like the feel of the truck better. But that's just me.
Hi thanks for your videos i have recently bought the carver triton prismal last week. Now i live in South Africa so here it is quite expensive 😂 i just want to ask my wheels 2 of them don't spin as long as the other 2 I have loosend the wheels slightly to stop friction but the 2 wheels does not spin as long as the other 2 so is that a concern and will it affect my ride or is it normal? And then final question i am slightly over protective on the bottom deck it already has scrapes and scratches is there anything additional i can to to protect the deck part from driving better ?
This video should answer your first question: ruclips.net/video/aDBzLCE8t2Y/видео.html Only way to keep the bottom of your deck pristine is to not ride it. ;-)
Not like a surfskate at all. They're in their own category. They're really only good for cross-stepping practice and stand-up paddling. I have a review coming out soon.

I purchased a flow surfskate at first when I was starting and realized it was crap then bought front and rail waterborne adapters, it improved a lot.

There are different Charger X on the market. The "old"ones are even to Carver. May the new generation is not so good as the old one...
Saw the Flow on Amazon and tried looking up reviews, had to wait till the end of the video for it! Well needless to say I won't be buying one now lol

The NKX looks great. I am going to purchase one.
Nothing great about it. It's one of the worst CX knock-offs I've ever tried and the deck is awful. It's a cheap kids' toy.
Awesome video. I live in Argentina and we have local brands, you should get a look into them! Like Lab Skateboarding, they make their own parts.

I haven't tried any of those brands.
Can you do a video of your initial thoughts on the new Hamboard Burst?
Don’t have it and I have no interest in Hamboards. Not my thing.

Poor range of motion, hard to pump, low-quality manufacturing. You can get a Carver Triton for $170 and it's far better than an NKX.
@@SurfskateLove thanks for the info!!
The best surfskate truck on amazon is Waterbourne. The end.
Well it all comes down to personal preference, doesn’t it?

Have you tried the Amazon clone marki trucks? I just got some but haven't build a board on it yet.
Nope. Personally, I wouldn’t trust them. I also don’t like supporting clones. I’m not a fan of Chinese manufacturers violating patents to produce cheap knock-offs.
I have installed that on my globe longboard. It is pretty similar as the real Yow.
How do you expect to see a return on your investment of 16K in the boards?

If I was to choose between slide diamond and hydroponic which one should I get?

Amazon also sells Hamboards, what can you tell me about those?

Goddamnit, I guess flow is absolute trash smh. To be fair, I got it as a gift so I'm not complaining, but damn
Yep, total garbage.
