It took me dozens of listens to suddenly realize that this piece can be heard as an extremely sophisticated bossa nova ... though the overwhelming virtuosity and improvisational sense of play would make it even less obvious in this live version.

Dear Mr Hancock, I very much enjoyed your masterclass, as well as all of the records I listened to in the 1970s when I grew up listening to music.
I come back to this live performance again and again. One of the greatest musical performances of all time; it’s pure feel.
Nice to hear this with a good grand piano, without horns. Just a basic trio. Billy is playing with taste and subtleties. Thanx for posting!
