Oh, so it was a content boom, like the tech industry. And this is their version of layoffs, except they have a union. This make a lot more sense now.
Except he is 100% wrong.
7:30 are you saying people that kiss ass are worth $250,000 a year?
I think Ed's generational slip is showing. When WILL we see an end to the 'blue pill' tendency to whine about Executive compensation? Re: Writers Strike - In addition to all of Scott's excellent comments, can we agree that the QUALITY of writing coming from the content creators is pretty much equal to the value today's writers are bringing to the streaming party.
well your union dissing didn't make me laugh
Grow up. I've been union all my life but the truth is that unions have their own politics and their own issues. He's just pointing out the issues.
Keep walking, Hollywood. We support this shutdown indefinitely! #nobigloss
I'm disappointed in Prof. G's perspective/position on labor unions. Unions are not a homogeneous group. This needs to be pointed out. I wouldn't compare the Writers' Union with a Janitorial Union. Yet, all people (workers) should have the right to come together and demand change. It's American!
He isn't arguing that they don't have a right to strike or whatever, it is just about if they are setup as organizations to do that well. Unions are organizations, they have their own internal politics and there are a lot of issues there in most cases.
