This video immediately made me want to go play with my single eyeshadows and make some palettes. And maybe declutter?
The hardest thing for me is that I dont have anyone to give stuff too. None of my friends really cares about makeup. So when I declutter, its like "is it worth the space to just throw away?" Because then it just feels wasteful and I end up keeping it. Its a lot easier to declutter when you know its going to make someone happy and not go to waste, then to just throw it away. So it ends up staying when ehh....I just want the space.
I totally understand you Rebecca, it's the same for me! I have given some of my friends makeup, but they use it like once a month, and they for sure don't have a magnetic palette, so it makes me super sad to throw away stuff. I end up selling what's new or newish, bit the rest ends up being thrown away
I put my used makeup on Craigslist under free and place it on my porch. It always goes very fast.
The same for me. Throw away is painful. And all those decluttered shadows are sooo amazing!

I found it super interesting that your final "keep" pile was darker and grungier and the "give away" pile was lighter. That in itself isnt interesting... but the lighting was. The lighting on the keep pile was also darker!
Reconnoiter is one of my favorite words. And I find nothing as satisfying to declutter as single shadows, especially from depotted palettes or handfuls of shadows I've picked up. I may only declutter three but I then will feel so inspired to create a new palette (and add in Natasha shadows or shadows from Sydney Grace palettes or my newly decluttered and now perfect for me Clionadh collection). Getting the text yesterday from the 17 year old who got my decluttered multichromes fully made my Christmas.
Starting with that blueish, greenish, aqua adept shadow I was screaming in my mind, that I can adop these shadows 😂 I ordered mine magnetic pallet, I am inspired by Hannah to have singles and create my own pallets 💕

here i am decluttering alongside you, i have about 2 dozen bronze supershockshadows and i used to say for no reason: but now i can recognize and accept that i really did think i'd need 5 different undertones, realize i don't, and move on~

I watched this morning and it inspired me to check my singles collection. I was able to declutter 24! I can now see my collection better and can’t wait for makeup play time.

I don’t care for singles for myself. I love palettes. I’m about them curating a color story for me. Watching other people’s singles OTOH are fascinating! It’s like a hot mess when all of them are taken out it’s fascinating to see what all the different shapes & colors. Seeing the final collex all out of the palettes is so overwhelming it was amazing! Amazing video Hannah! I could never ever disassemble a ND palette. You got the instincts girl & u knew right away what shades were what which is so also amazing.

Well this sent me down a rabbit hole! This prompted me to go and re-watch your other single eyeshadow videos and what a wonderful history of presentations. Fun, satisfying and inspiration for me to spend time with my own eye shadows. I have de-potted every eyeshadow palette and love having all together. Chef kiss to the single eye shadows!

I loved this video so much. I feel so inspired to only keep the things I truly love. I also feel more connected to my older stuff because I've been through so much with them and the newer stuff excites me when it first arrives but when it enters my collection I still reach for my trusty older stuff. Also, I want to start depotting some of my eyeshadow palettes. I have too much and for many of them there are a few beautiful shades I want too keep but the rest I could do without I'm just scared I will ruin the shadows 😅

I always just organize my eyeshadows (mostly MUG & Sydney Grace plus a depotted Juvia’s Place palette) by colour tones, such as blue-emerald greens and teals together with blues in the one Z-palette, warm yellows, reds, purples and oranges in another and cool toned yellows, olives, rusts and neutrals in the other... like all the tones match each other and despite them ranging in actual colours - it gives them the impression of being monochromatic.
So, when I do reorganize them - I just adjust them around but they always stay the same - in theory. I mean, they change, but you know what I mean? Anyways, you didn’t ask. Ha ha ha.
Are the juvias place palettes magnetic?
@@jennacadorsey9427 No, unfortunately, but the palettes are cardboard and it was easy to depot plus you can find those sticky magnetic backings and those work good.

I was so relieved when UD Lounge made it. A true nail biter. I don't have that exact shadow, but I have the thing that that shadow does in my GMG Xmas morning palette and it's arguably my favorite shadow in my whole collection, so I'm rooting for UD Lounge ever time.

This is probably the 8/9th time I’ve come back to watch this video and the organization video I’m about to watch..again. Watching your process comforts me and your ability to consciously make decisions beneficial to having a curated collection makes me want to do the same. Oooh loved watching this! I’ve always been a palette fanatic but wanted to get into singles. I’ve tried time and time again and something literally clicked literally this month. I’m down to one small square magnetic palette of singles. Yey!!! I’m in the UK though and we don’t have as many readily available indie brands as in the US which is frustrating!

I had bought a discontinued palette off Mercari and had another big one and decided they were too big to use. I drew a grid so my husband would know which ones to depot and I repressed those that broke. Only one seems a total loss. Just yesterday, I gathered all my singles and made two monochromatic-ish palettes. Even if I never use them, I love how they look. All to say I find this video fascinating because I 💕 looking at color and after approximately 200 declutter videos to keep me preoccupied until Inauguration Day, this was a delightful alternative. Well done!

I need to do this. What I NEED to do is get everything out and have one massive day of swatches so I can truly purge my dupes. I might even make a list of what singles can make up a palette so I can start tossing stuff.
I did a big swatch party before Black Friday to stop myself from buying *potential* dupes. Deeeeeeply satisfying.

I have that on my “to do list”.
i have a similar skin tone to yours and i often use hear me out as an under eye brightener to essentially "dodge" away dark circles since it's decently pigmented.
Not sure if I’m the only one, but the lights flicker like heart beats in the background, especially around the lose random singles.

Hi. I have one single shadow. I would like to have three. I have five eye shadow palettes. I have two in my makeup drawers because looking at more is overwhelming. I couldn't decide if I had all of those to look at in the morning. I would need to separate them out beforehand.

Sometimes I get the urge to just Depot all my eyeshadow palettes bc of saving space, and also to see what eyeshadow shades I actually have so I can stop buying palettes lol but then again I’m not sure 😭
