For the "Headshot" round Rythmind used a metronome on the device to create the pattern in the first drop (he probably could've produced the drop normally though you would've heard more of the development) which caused people to question if it was cheating. They let him off though it is now against the rules to do so.
Edit: This is also why the drop felt that it had come out of no where

Just a reminder that the phrase "it is NOW against the rules" is wrong cause it always have been in the rules that's why many people are wondering why sbx didn't change the 2019 champ 🤣
@@ac.kwensii no, it wasn't in the rules to use a metronome technically. Madox video explained the situation better. The fault lies within the rules itself for not being clear.

We got new stuff comin out rn that’s like 10X this. Also whenever rythmind competes after this battle. They yell headshot everytime regardless. Also you’re correct on how they pitch things. Manually. If their base sound isn’t full n clean they can’t make the perfect sound
I have to disagree on the 10x things, this is still one of the greatest battles ever.

@@occitany2982 well yeah, most of the competitors in 2019 were only using one device, in 2021 almost all of them had like 2 or 3 extra devices which gives them more of a chance to elevate their music even more.

This battle is what got me hooked on Loop Station Beatboxing Battles and made NME my favorite Looper, unfortunately he has since taken a hiatus from Looping on to other business ventures from what I have heard. I really wish we could have heard more of his growth, he was something special imo. That "Heaven" round was truly a masterpiece, had a little bass tease in the middle and that teasing bassy outro that didnt drop that makes me want to hear it with a drop added, like a part 2 where God sends NME back and tells him his time time on earth is not finished....then you get an amazing drop! Oh how I can imagine! Viva NME!

Rythmind vs BreZ is the craziest Battle of last years GBB and Bery Loopstation Tag-Team Showcase is also a crazy performance to check out.
For Solo Beatbox the GBB 2021 wildcard winner announcement has a crazy variety of nice tracks aswell as D-lows Kickback winner compilation.

the "Note" rythmind does is basicly a delay with the Feedback set to 100%, so it basicly delays/Repeats forever, and he tunes the sound by ajusting the delay time, probably between 30ms and 1ms
you can hear at 1:26 that he uses a kick as input for the delay, which gives his bass the low-end, you can then twist the knobs to ajust volume and delay time, so basicly pitch it up/down and turn it off and on!
so yes, every sound is triggered from their mouth!

On Rythmind's second round, the harmonies are descending so that every last lowest note from the chord progression fits as the next lowest note for the first chord when it loops. Like that he can just layer the harmonies into the looping recording.
Also regarding the pitch, the sound he is using is a kind of delay (I think it was the granular delay) that has a very high feedback and repitition rate, giving you that more synthy sound, where you can achieve exact note pitches by adjusting the delay length
You gotta see den vs king inertia, there’s one vid on sxin’s RUclips channel and the other one is on chezame’s channel. This competition is new #BBU22 and the competitors are judged based on how good their video is along with the musicality, editing is allowed as long as the edits are “beatboxable”.

I have watched so many reaction videos of this battle and I just finally have to comment NME's second round was so fire on its own even without a drop but tbh with that build up he had in his second round idk about you guys but if he would have added a drop I would have been deceased it was so good! @@roboket3524 When I was first starting out, I decided to look up the most viewed beatbox reaction videos and react to those same videos… they didn’t end up performing all that well due to the content being oversaturated and no longer relevant. Hopefully he takes me up on my offer since I’m literally not asking for anything in return.

12:51 so what he is doing is playing one line at a time while descending, and then after a bit it loops, so he can have all of the notes descending into each other and make a fulll chord progression. Hope that made sense lol
