Thank you so much for getting me interesting in cooking, my husband passed away in 2016 and he loved to cook n baked. You are SO well dressed on your videos; and showing us the lovely “old favorite workhorse” would not diminish our knowledge of your very well-groomed self♥️.
It would simply show us your loving loyalty to the one TRUE “always-there-for-you”, precious apron.

You're welcome my friend, it is alot of work, but being a homemaker is what brings me alot of joy. Thank you so much for your comment. ❤
My Grandma was just like your Grandma. She too wore an apron 365days a year. I have seen her in rainstorms out in the field picking up turkey eggs that were floating off their nests, she would bring the corners up and fill with the eggs bring them in and put them in a towel in a box behind the wood stove to hatch even duck eggs. She used those aprons, made out of flour sacks, for everything. My sister and I are in our mid-70's now and we wear aprons all the time too. Our Grandma cooked everything in cast-iron. My sister and I split them between us and still use them to this day. Grandma passed in 1959.
Still miss her so much.
Her name was Rachel too.
I really enjoy watching your videos. You are genuinely
A real sweetheart 💓 💖
The world needs more humans just like you. This was awesome Rachel….Thank you. 🥣🥣🥣🥣🥣🥣

You are such a lovely, warm person.

Hi Rachel, thank you for showing us your cookware, they are all beautiful, love all the colors of pan’s that you have, also love all your pretty aprons. love the one you have on now.my mom never wore an apron as we were growing up, i own one apron i should buy more, i only wear it when i make tamales. I don’t iron my apron i just wash and hung it. you are a very sweet and loving person and love your Ron and you work hard cooking,I’m 68 and still cooking and cleaning and love it, but my husbands helps me cook because he loves to cook. we are lucky. Rachel i want to ask, how do you clean a new clay dish. thank you and God bless you both.
I just adore you! You’re so down-to-earth and yet incredibly talented. My great grandmother was an immigrant from Ireland. She worked as a cook for a Congressman’s family. My grandmother was ashamed that her mother was a servant, so she refused to learn to cook. My mother was the same. Somehow, I loved to cook and have taught myself how to bake and make homemade meals the old-fashioned way… but I made many mistakes along the way and had to learn the hard way. Watching you put together your incredible looking meals is heartwarming to me. I’m learning a lot too! If you have stories about who taught you, I’d love to know them. 💌

I use Le Creuset. Do you use any ?
Thank you so much for sharing and for your sweet comment my friend, do what you love and enjoy every minute and it'll bring alot of joy to your life. I will share more as I go along.❤😘
I love watching your video's. Everything looks so delicious. I also live on San Antonio. Nothing tastes like San Antonio Mexican food. I learn a lot from you. Bless you.
You are easy to love.
I think wearing an apron, reminds me of another time, an era, where everything had a reason. Things were made from scratch, things were built to last, things were made to be repaired, not replaced, before the instant, fast paced disposable preservative chemical life we all know now. It harkens back, to a time when life was not just more simple, but much better, and healthier.
Thank you for being a sparkling gem, and showing us the all but forgotten ways, of a way better time and way of living, the way we should return to!!
Anyone else saying ok how do you keep them so clean?
There is a reason why our grandmothers and moms made sure to dry their dishes and put them away. Drying not only getsthe moisture off(obviously) but it also polishes the dishes amd makes them shiney and pretty. Also,if you have food that sticks to the bottom of pans...don't scrape or use hard abrasives....heat the pan and add some water to "deglaze". It makes for easier and better clean up.
Yes! I would like to know how Rachel keeps her beautiful pots/pans looking brand new.
And, I love all her recipes♥️ they take me back to my childhood. Thanks for sharing Rachel 😊
Rachel, could you do a kitchen tour of where you keep things and why, & how you organise your cupboards, the best staples & herbs to keep stocked up on, you're kitchen working area is So cosy & organised,
I bet its barkeepers friend for the stainless. A metal scrub and oil for the cast iron, or something similar 🤔

Every family should have a 'Rachel' A lovey, heartfelt and nurturing lady who clearly loves her family and her life. I am laid up sick in bed and so have been binge watching YT videos and discovered Rachel loves..... Your honesty is so refreshing. I almost laughed myself into a coughing coma when you talked about your everyday apron and the patches you have made from your belly rub! You and your Ron have a special love that this world does not see so much of these days. Love and blessings to you and your family

Rachel I absolutely am a “Rachel cooks with Love” fan! I just went shopping for a Chuck roast for your pot roast recipe and my husband went with me I said tell the butcher I want a 3 1/2 pound Chuck roast with the marbeling. He said, why don’t you get the English roast, it looks just as good! I said, no, I have to get exactly what Rachel uses, the Chuck roast! LOL
You really should make a cook book, but I love how you explain everything “step by step” “just like this”! 😊 You are so enjoyable to watch and I have learned a lot.
So glad I found you! You give such good detail that I am not afraid to try anything you have made although I have never had such a variety of Mexican food. Love your aprons. I prefer watching you to a cookbook but it would be nice to have the recipes handy.
Thank you for being you and love how you call your husband “my Ron”! He should do an occasional “cameo appearance”. Heard his voice once when you were making tamales. Can’t say enough! Love you!
You made me smile and I am so happy to know you will make the roast, chuck roast is my favorite, NOT shoulder roast (some people confuse it...I'm so glad my videos have helped, I do try my best to give clear instructions, because it's not about me, its about you. I hope to have a cook book one day and I am working on it along with many other things like my aprons etc...my Ron is shy and I hope I can convince him to appear one day. Oh Rachel, I just love watching your videos and I would love to see your apron. I love your cooking and every single thing I have made following your instruction has been so delicious! I love your apron story and seeing all your aprons. They're like a tapestry of stories and memories. I get it. I had some of my Gma's aprons and my Mom's too (I'm coming up on 71 years old) and they all burned in the Camp fire on Nov. 2018. My Gma made me several aprons from the time I was 7 or 8 years old....they were necessary to help her in the kitchen...so she said. She just loved seeing the joy on my face I think. We just got back into a place and I've made 1 apron so far. Thank you for your inspiration, whether it's cooking or having aprons!

Rachel, I’d love for you to do a video about how you care for your cast iron. Have watched others but wow have never seen such clean & well-seasoned pots/pans as yours.
My mom had those copper bottomed pans til she had a non-fatal stroke & a few of my sibs got rid of many of her best cookware/bakeware including all those she’d had for years. I had pneumonia so couldn’t oversee what they were doing & it was a sad disaster. You can barely make a meal w/the dishes, spices/herbs, etc they left her with which has been very discouraging for her bc she fully recovered.🥲
It’s so funny that you did this video. I didn’t ask for you to do it in any comments but wanted you to so thank you so much.

Hello from New Mexico! You are a kind beautiful person. I just want to say thank you for all your hard work and effort you put into these videos. Thank you for sharing your skills, knowledge, and recipes. I have a question: I see you have several dutch ovens, what size/capacity are they? My favorite part of this video was your apron collection. I wish you could have showed each one. Here's an idea: a video tutorial sewing up your apron constructed your way. You are such an excellent teacher and you know how to explain directions/instructions so well. And I loved your apron story, you had me in tears when you mentioned nobody ever bought (16:58) you an apron or make one and that you wore a towel. Oh, one more thing, please do a Blue Corn Pancake Recipe Tutorial. Thanks again.
Thank you for sharing your kitchen with us! I love your aprons and I’m going to make myself a couple!!!
Yes!! Then treasure it forever. ❤
What a fantastic video!!! The love you have for what you do is genuinely visible. I am also a homemaker and I have the same memories of my grandma in her apron. I wanted so much to be like her. I used to get pillow cases for pretend aprons. Every now and then she would let me wear one of hers and she would pull it to fit and safety pin the back. Treasured memories of those summers in west Texas with her. Having good cookware is essential and while it is a big investment, when the love goes into the cooking the return cannot be measured. I have those exact flat wooden spoons and they are 100% of the time the ones I grab. I try to keep them maintained. If one was to break I would be lost in my kitchen. 😂 I am voting for showing the apron. It's like a badge of honor. May God continue to bless you and yours.

Thank you Rachel for showing us your collection, and it's quiet a collection! My favorite casserole dish is the beautiful light yellow with the rooster. My kitchen is done up with roosters and hens. My mother's kitchen was roosters and hens too. My grandmother raised her own chickens. I can remember as a small child seeing her chase down a hen, ring it's neck and she had a big aluminum tub with hot water she would put it in and pluck all the feathers out. Then she would take a lit match and singe all the pin feathers before she would cut it up and put in the freezer. A real pioneer woman! She would do around 10 hens at a time. Me...naw, I go to Kroger! Lol! It's a challenge to me to even pick one out! Hey, I'm a 'honest child's but boy could she run! Lol! Her and grandad had a dairy farm, raised their own garden. What a hard, wonderful life! Anyway, sorry Rachel, I kinda got carried away with my memories. You are so sweet to show us your collection, with such pride, like your old friends. God bless you! You are such a joy to watch. Your cookware, utensils, and aprons are a testament of your personality and your love of all things. Thank you for sharing it with us. Pam in South Carolina 😊
Thank you so much Pam, I appreciate your comment. I do love being a homemaker and all that comes with it.❤
She understands how we all love the items we used, hardly use ,but can't depart with
Rachel, this was so nice! I really enjoyed seeing your collections, they're fantastic! I absolutely LOVE your traditional cooking videos, and always look forward to them, but one of you cleaning around the house, explaining your technics would also be wonderful, just now and then! Please consider this 🙏😊♥️
Thank you so much for your comment, I will consider it my friend. ❤
Thank you for sharing your pots and pans and aprons and your kitchen and all of the wonderful things you have God bless you and your family
Rachel, you are fantastic! I’d love to see your passion in everything you do! You are an excellent teacher I have learned a few more skills. Please keep it up! God’s blessing to you and Ron
Thank you, I appreciate your comment very much.❤
Thank you so much about telling us all about your cookware. As a girl I lost my mom to cancer when I was 9. I love your motherly cooking instruction. It is something that I missed and never really loved to cook until I started watching your videos. “It’s just that easy, see?” Hugs to you!
I LOVE your aprons and the fact that you made make them!
I wear an apron a lot too!
I like the 'cobbler' kind! Have many of them.
Thank you so much, I need to ln earn to make cobbler aprons, because I love them too. Blessings. ❤
I’m so impressed with your diligence to keep everything so spotless! My pans are well used and they look it! I should keep better care of them, I do have Barkeepers Friend.

@@cynthiafisher9907 thank you!!!! I wanted to report, but the 2 exceptions didn't seem to match my reason.
I’m so happy for you, coming out with your own cookware collection 🥂 You deserve all the success 😊
Lol, I read the title and assumed you were introducing your new line of cookware 🤣😂 WHICH YOU SHOULD HAVE by the way 🤍
@@karenderuyter2568 How funny.
@@karenderuyter2568 that's what I thought at first.
So true to take care of your beloved pots, pans, casserole bakeware, etc. and they will give you beautiful delicious goodness. My Grandma lived in her aprons. After many years, I remembered why I loved them so much. They represent food, love and happiness. Thank you dear Rachel for the wonderful memories. Sherry 🥰🙏💞
Thank you for sharing your treasure of cookware/bakeware and utensils! I had to smile because we have similar tastes. Le Creuset is the best ever as is All-Clad when it comes to cooking, and I keep my stainless steel shiny and gleaming, too. You’re so right about taking good care of whatever you use. I had a set of Farberware that I used for years and years. Love your videos and your down-to-earth personality!
Would love for you to do a video on how to clean, and season your cast iron cookware, and you could wear your everyday apron Ron didn’t want you to show us, you are very blessed to have Ron that supports you with your love for cooking, may God continue to bless you and Ron in all your cooking and personal endeavors to the public from a friend from Clifton, Texas.
Thank you so much, ivwill show my apron when I get back to Ohio my friend. I'm sorry it has taken me long to respond but I try my best to keep up with the comments. I hope you have seen my video on how to clean and season cast iron cookware.❤
I loved this video Rachel. Thank you for sharing your special collections with us. You are an amazing woman! Your family is blessed to have you 🌻
Thank you so much for your sweet comment my friend. ❤😘
Rachel, this video is so inspirational. Your pots and pans, roasters, bakeware, are impressively maintained...and informative. The level of organization for a home cook is phenomenal.
My grandmother always wore aprons, and sewed them herself by hand. She has been deceased for over 50 years now, but remembrances of her in her kitchen, cooking in her iron skillets and pots are so vivid. She baked everything from scratch, and vegetables freshly grown. Cakes, pies, cobblers, biscuits, dinner rolls were always freshly baked. Like you, she had an arsenal of aprons. Thank you for your cohesive and organized presentation. Always look forward to your cooking and information-packed shows. ❤
You do everything with love. Amazing❤️Perfect title for your channel; we are so blessed to have you showing us how to cook and be a homemaker. Since I found your channel, have not stopped watching it. For sure you will reach a million subscribers very soon 🙏blessings to you and your family ❤️
Thank you so much for your encouraging words my friend.❤
I want to cook just like you when I grow up. I am just 74 years old. I think I better get on this project before I get too old 😊😊😊😊😊😊
I am new to your channel but OMG I love every video you make. I started when I viewed your Beef Enchilada Casserole last week which I am pleased you showed the rooster casserole you prepared it. You have such a winning personality that made want to see that everyday apron holes and all. Thank you and wish you continued success.
Oh you did just like me lol
I just wish you can cook that and call me to eat from yours
@@mosleyhunter1381 LOL -- you just missed it. Made it at the end of September ... it was so, so, so good. Divvy up the leftovers and froze it ...
@AidaJof awww I just wish I was there but I have missed it already
So when am I getting mine? lol
@@mosleyhunter1381 Not a chance now, it did not last very long in the freezer ... sorry! Will send out a smoke signal next time I make it ... he he he!
Lol I will be ready to make sure I am the first person to locate you then lol
Rachel, you are absolutely the best teacher for homemakers. What a WONDERFUL CHEF AND TEACHER! JACKIE FISHER TITUSVILLE FLORIDA
Thank you, Rachel, for this video. I really enjoyed it & plan to find your wooden utensils for myself. I've also been admiring your aprons, but now I'm really curious to see your favorite.
Thank you so much, I will show it to you as soon as I get back to Ohio.❤
Rachel what a treat you are to watch. I remember my grandmother always had an apron on and I would sneak up and untied the strings. One night I slept over and teased her undoing them a dozen times till she said "oh hell". I never heard her say a bad word...she even covered her mouth and we both started laughing 🤣 Thanks for bringing back that memory. I totally appreciate watching you, you remind me of her. You always bring a smile to my face.
Definitely going to start my Christmas list and place it in my hubby’s briefcase 😊
Lol!!! Smart girl! ❤😘
Wow sister!!! I love this video so very much! Thank you…😘❤️
I enjoyed it too. It feels so good to share my blessings.
I love your aprons. Makes me think of my mom who loved aprons, too. She made all her dresses with a matching apron
Wow!! Thank you so much for your comment my friend. ❤
When I first found your show, the most favorite part of it was your aprons! They were so pretty and colorful. Then watching you cook I fell in love with the whole Rachel :) You have enough cookware to never have to wash a dish LOL. I ordered some Bar Keepers friend yesterday after watching your show on how to clean the pots.. You are so amazing and I'm so glad I found your shows!!!
Thank you so much for your sweet comment, take your time cleaning them, and love what you do. ❤
The apron you're wearing with your turquoise blouse is beautiful!!! Thankyou for showing us the tools of your trade. I'm sentimental as well so I relate to hanging on to things even if they've become a little worse for wear, lol. God bless you and yours Miss Rachel:)
Thank you so much for your sweet words my friend. ❤
The aprons brought back so many memories of my Mama. She was born in 1905 and had me, her last baby, in 1950.
Can you do a video on how to season a cast iron skillet. Starting with a brand new skillet?? Please
Yes I will, I promise.❤
Thank you 😊💓☺💗💛 I just can't wait to see the video . Love everything you do in your kitchen ❤
It’s better to buy a vintage one, much better quality.
Right? I can't wait.
@@rachelcookswithlove thank you so much. I grew up with my mom cooking with them and I love using them to cook with. But she never taught me how to season one
Honestly, Rachel, I am amazed at the fact that you answer and "like" comments to us - and you are simply the world's best cook and wife and teacher and home maker - and so informative; yet, you take time for us cyber folks. A true picture of our Messiah who ALWAYS has time; no matter how busy. AMAZING.
My husband and I love watching your videos. This one is one of my favorites. You inspire me so much. Thank you for sharing. I wish you would make a video on how you make your aprons. We look forward to your next videos. 🥰
Thank you so much for your comment, I'm not a good seamstress and I think all the experts would be on me for the way i make them, but I'll give it some thought. ❤
I'm having major cookware envy! I've never owned cast iron cookware because it always seemed like too much work to maintain. Your kitchen cabinets must be like Mary Poppins carpetbag, bottomless and endless storage, LOL! Great video, looking forward to the cast iron cleaning and maintenance.
I’m with everyone else on the care of the cookware. I’d love to see that. But my first choice for a video would be an overview of your molcajete. I understand they have to be seasoned and require special cleaning. Would love to know more about them! Your love for cooking and warm personality just shine! Best of luck to you going forward!
Thank you so much, I will put this on my list.😘👍❤
Hi Rachel 👋 love all your pans I have many my self and have my favorites to. I just started seeing you about 3 weeks ago know and I can't stop watching your shows I have learned many more foods because I love to cook I believe that's why my son that is 36 is still living with my husband and me, he has also loved the knew plates I have made from you and waits every day to see what iam cooking next. So thank you so much for inspiring me to learn even more in the kitchen . I will continue to watch you for a long time God bless you always and your family 👪.
You made my day, what a sweet comment. ❤
Hola Rachel…I absolutely love all your recipes. When I came across your site I was like “WOW” this lady must be part of my family! We’re from Del Rio and Uvalde Texas. When I continued to watch it was like I was back in my moms kitchen with my Tias and sisters. Thank you so much for all your delicious recipes!
Aww, thank you so much for your sweet comment. ❤😘
I absolutely love your videos, especially this one. I was so charmed by your aprons and the story of you and Ron discussing whether to show your favorite, every day apron. You are so talented and so natural in front of the camera. I felt like I was in your kitchen, and all we needed was a cup of coffee or tea to finish the conversation. Keep up these videos. I’m learning so much about cooking really good Mexican food. You’re an excellent instructor. Thank you for all your hard work putting these together. Also, Ron does excellent camera work.
Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I really try to put effort in teaching the best I can and it feels great when people appreciate it. Blessings to you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love love all your collections! I truly understand exactly what you mean. I learn so much from your cooking. You are a great cooking instructor! Thank you . Please keep it going ! Hugs. Thank you
Thank you so much for your words. ❤
Rachel you are such a wonderful person and a true pleasure to watch!! Looking forward to cleaning cast iron and dutch ovens. I just tried to clean a cast iron frying pan that was my moms and truly I cannot get it really clean and SMOOTH on the inside - so I will be waiting for that video. Bless you and your Ron (would love to see Ron one day in your video). I am making your chicken parm tonight for supper!
Thank you so much, I don't know what exactly is the problem with your cast iron skillet, but try scrubbing it hard with a stainless steel scouring pad till smooth, then start fresh with your seasoning.❤
