I was a freshman in the English Department, at Kabul University when our beloved King returned to his homeland from 29 years in exile. 15 years now has passed since then. The King is no longer alive, but his memories as this Video. Also his homeland and people still struggle for peace. Though a lot has changed for positive! I want all my people to be united and work hard for a prosperous future. This land is ours and surely, we are the ones who should rebuild it and make it rise to power once again! Long life!

I wonder if Afghanistan had its monarchy restored and was a constitutional monarchy rather than a corrupt presidency. Would it have been run better or inspired more loyalty.

Monarchy has only been the only natural government Afghanistan has ever had. I think in the eyes of Afghans any government that came afterwards the communists the Taliban even the current government as a product of a foreign power. The Afghans are a fiercely independent people and when faced with anything authority considered foreign they resist with all their heart. By reinstating a constitutional monarchy with a combination of democratic and Islamic values with a traditional hierarchy something that most Afghans respect.
