Not for me personally but for city commuting, it is definitely worth a look, for those who need it. As you say, the price will be the critical thing. Thanks for showing us.
It is. I’m very intrigued with this bike. My money was going to go on the new Classic, but too heavy, same old crap rear shocks as the Meteor 650 and a high seat height. I will wait for the flea by the looks of things 🙏
Thanks for the video. I feel that R.E. has made the right approach; I wouldn't be interested due to having 5 bikes currently at my age (73). I have what I need for whatever amount of time that I have left. Cherrio!! Illinois, USA
Thais here have been modifying Interceptors into scramblers for a while now. It certainly looks good and seems to work. The Bear necessities 😂🙏 Royal Enfield Custom Modified. From Stock to Stunning ideas ruclips.net/video/XERxOrJzjLc/видео.html
I love the connection to the WW2 bike story and it even looks similar. Not sure why its delayed to 2026 but thats only 14 moths away. Maybe technology and battery costs will be lower by then. I"m not seeing a lot of diversity and break out innovations with other manufacturers compared to Royal Enfield. This is a company on the move and I embrace their efforts. Don"t expect a cheap electric bike but let"s hope for a reasonable price.
Yeah, it’s odd to do a press launch, and then delay the launch. I think they are getting a feel on interest. Pointless ordering batteries you don’t need. But cost is very critical to the success. Like you say, batteries hopefully better and cheaper by 2026 🙏
an interesting mix of the past and future.... hope the flying flea gets the success it deserves... its a wonderful looking machine... but now the Bear scrambler is alas being released... which one to choose.... maybe the Flying flea duel sport ? Enfield India are really making desirable bikes....
It’s certainly an interesting prospect. I had my heart set on the Classic 650, but not any more now full details have been released. I think I will save my pennies for a Flea 👌😂🙏
@Teacher-T-Thailand I do not stick 1 dollar in the machines of illusion LOL. They didn't build las Vegas on winners. We don't hang down there or downtown.
I think an electric bike as a short range commuter is super practical. But charge time and range have been the achilles heel for other brands as well as $$$ and dealer networks. Zero bikes are the pioneers here in the USA but sales are flat here in Texas due to the aforementioned. If Royal Enfield can solve price and range, I think they have a shot because the design looks amazing. Note Zero also has a dirt bike "adventure" model that Itchy Boots rode on one of her Africa trips.
@@MangoCitizen yes many. You will notice the smoothness of power transfer. No more pillion head butting your helmet between gear changes. No oiling. No mess. No maintenance. And shock last at least 4 times longer than a chain and sprocket set. It’s all pluses, which is why Indian and Harley Davidson use them 🙏
@@Teacher-T-Thailand I am not sure if belt lasts more than chain, at least not in the mountains. Yes the shocks during gear changes may be reduced but chain drive provides instantaneous torque, which smooth belt drive may not give.
@Teacher-T-Thailand well, that's true. That's how individuals are formed with different opinions about almost everything. Otherwise the world will be soo, boring.
I purchased an E bicycle with an 80 km range and 35 kph top speed. Suits me fine. I have enjoyed ICE motorcycles too much and too long to give them up however.
The electric car market is booming here at the moment in Thailand. No real option to by a road legal electric motorbike at the moment apart from the very expensive HD. It could be a winner. I hope so 🙏
Have they launched the electric bikes? That's interesting, with no official performance figures, range or price announced. "expected" figures are just someones guesses. How can you say it has been launched when they won't actually be making them for another 2 years?
Not for me. The sound of the bike is all part of the motorcycling experience. Although I must say it's one of the best looking electric bikes I've seen so far.
This bike needs to be priced right to sell. I don’t have a problem with electric vehicles they can be a good alternative to an ice vehicle but the numbers have to work. If I can buy and run a conventional ice motorcycle for 10 years before breaking even on running an electric one I am not going to do it and that is before you get into the questions about range. This bike has similar performance to my 350 meteor on paper and you can buy a meteor for about £4k (£3.5k for a HNTR) so this bike cannot cost more than £7k to make sense to buy one.
Absolutely spot on. Apart from I would hope the price would be even lower than that, Less materials. The only thing that really costs are the batteries Let’s hope technology makes them better and cheaper by 2026 🙏
Hi Teacher T. Honestly the first thoughts going through my mind wasn't an all electric RE! But wouldn't that style of bike look nice with a RE 750cc engine in her with say 60 or a 70 bhp engine at its disposal? Not a huge fan of electric, but that bike does look nice! Nevertheless well done RE!
I think this EV proposition is just to make buzz. To be honest EV motorcycle market is harder than ICE motorcycle market. On the one hand you have an avalanche of crappy Chinese bikes (with some exceptions) and the other hand you have Maeving and similar. I was expecting RE will make something in the style of the classic bike.
Not for me personally but for city commuting, it is definitely worth a look, for those who need it. As you say, the price will be the critical thing. Thanks for showing us.
Agreed 100% 👌🙏
great review, keep em coming
Thank you Mr H 🙏
Good range, good speed...worth a thought...
It’s still pie in the sky, but with battery technology getting better every day by 2026 they should achieve it 🙏
It looks pretty much like the old flying flea. A Very beautiful, little bike

@ nice, Go for it 👌🙏
If they hit an affordable price it could be a massive success for them.
Spot on. With the recent Royal Enfield line up price points, hopefully they will 🙏

It ticks a lot of boxes. Price will be critical though.
Agreed 100% 👍🙏

5 red for your luck 👌🙏

I'd have to have both the 2T and the new electric version. Wait, there's two. I'll have the "scrambler" version too 👍
👌😂🙏

I’ve had my eyes on Zero for a while. But the price didn’t warrant the economy or range. By 2026 hopefully RE have it mastered. 🙏
Beautiful commentary
Ha ha. I wish. Yet another cold or worse from my students making my voice very bad once again 😂🙏
First time Royal with a belt drive
Mmmm. Not really. I have a belt on my Suoer Meteor 650. But official RE belt possibly. It’s the way forward 🙏
Any advantages with the belt drive?

Simple answer Yes and Yes. It would not replace my 350 Classic but add a fun toy to the garage. Price is key.
Yep, never sell that Classic. But I’m sure electric offers a different thrill. I’m eager to try. 🙏
I wish they did thicker tyres. This looks like a Re Bullet 350 from 2000.

Wow, it does look like the original Flying Flea. Was this designed in India or in the UK?
I think on all RE bikes, they are still jointly designed. There are English folk on the design team. 🙏
If they launch it in India I think it won't do well there. As others have said price wise and dealer network will be a challenge.
Yes price is absolutely critical world wide. So far RE have been smart and savvy on their pricing. Let’s hope they get this right 🙏

It certainly won’t be for everyone. But people said that about electric cars. Now 25% of the cars I see on the road here in Thailand are electric 🙏
160km range is enough to cover distance from Eindhoven to Arnhem. Good enough.
Ha ha. Some one knows their history 🙏
Very cool, wouldn't want one though.
It’s going to be a 50/50 thing. 😂🙏

Bonjour,
Je ne suis pas intéressé mais chacun ses gouts🙂

Definitely not, a motorbike should remain a motorbike
😂 It still has a motor. An electric one. I think it’s a bold move. But agreed it’s not everyone’s cup of tea 🙏
