Sum 41 are totally underrated yet legendary. I go off on people when they try to say they only have a few good songs. Anyone who says that never even gave their catalog a chance.
I thought they were like a one hit wonder for the longest time until I actually listened to one of the full albums and damn I was totally wrong. These guys are one of the best pop punk bands ever and the drums are ludicrous. Just as difficult as Travis’s stuff imho
@@Nik.No.K LMAO r u kidding when i was teenager they were THE band it was like sum 41, blink 182, avril etc like they were A list. but music fads change so then spotlight became more about hip-hop & rap again with pop so there was more emphasis and spotlight on rappers like nicki minaj etc and still now we got much of the focus on that. travis has been bringing punk and rock back with machine gun kelly so different things are starting to get more time of day again and into the algorithm but ya all the bands from back then a lot o them either still killing it just not in tabloids etc cause it hasnt been the 'trend'
Sum 41 was my gateway to rock and listening to music by albums as a whole. Which I've never done before and honestly nothing can compare to their sound. I love them so much and it was soul crushing to see them go.
Their 1st few albums (like "Half Hour Of Power", "All Killer No Filler" & "Does This Look Infected") will always be my favorite Sum 41 Albums! I remember when I was in Jr High when the 1st 2 albums came out & I was in high school when "Does This Look Infected" came out. & it brings back good memories, plus my favorite sum 41 songs of all time are all on those albums!
Oh there will be a reunion tour in the future. There always is, they'll miss it after a while. I get needing a break and wanting to do other things in your life as well, but we see these bands doing this kind of stuff all the time. I can't think of a single band that hasn't come back to do even just another couple shows after a few + years break. And if I'm wrong, they had an AMAZING run and they're music will live on in the pop punk world for a long long time. Was at the Reading Farewell show the other night, it was so fucking good! Got a guitar pick 😊. I want to go to the Philly one as well, but got stuck working 🙁 but glad I went to one of them! 🎶🤟🖤
Yeah it’s the touring part that gets old for most bands constantly being away missing family travelling non stop etc. The actual shows are the fun bit but a lot of hanging around for days in strange places in between setting up testing bored in hotels etc the stuff you don’t see. That’s why a lot of them end up getting dependencies to fill the gaps isn’t it I mean what you gonna do really in a strange town without that 🤷♂️

It is the best record you have ever made. It's god tier. I slept on Sum41 so hard for the first few years they were about, but they are beyond good and massively underrated.
Why not just play it cool, do side projects, and leave it open ended. It's not like it's an office job. Plenty of bands take a break from touring and recording for a year
He wants the peace that comes with closure. Not things hanging in the air and people bugging him with new sum questions. When/if he is ready in the future to reboot it he will.
Listen you get to point in your life where you just want to enjoy your money and fame. However this isn’t permanent, they will reunite in the future. Who’s to say you’re only supposed to this one thing in your life, what if you love and desire other things?
Takes a real artist to wrap things up with dignity. Otherwise, you become like the Beetles who just became obsessed with the appearance of being an "artist," and all their later stuff was TRASH.

They have a really unique ability of making both pop punk and alternative metal sound catchy as hell.
