Since BF is tomorrow, are these S7 HSS recommendable over a Fender's player strat (plus or some higher end models) when it comes to the overall package? Do pickups need a swap or are they good to go for blues-rock stuff? ( SRV, Sayce, Rory Gallagher type of music)
Thomann Germany has the sunburst version listed for 499 euros and I'm almost ready to jump the gun.

I already owned a Fender American Standard Stratocaster HSS Sienna Burst 2008, Gibson Les Paul Custom Studio 50s Tribute Gold Top with P90s, Epi ES-339 Pro with P90s and a few others. The Sire was well worth the price and the wait.

Back in February/March I ordered an L7 it still hasn't come in yet, but in the mean while I found a second hand S7 (Alex's variant) the previous owner "isn't a strat kinda guy" so after losing the whammy bar, and swapping the knobs for no reason, he sold it. After playing it I didn't touch my other guitars for weeks I instantly fell in love with the feel of the neck it was a massive improvement over what I'm use to its hard to wanna play on a gloss neck now. Satin is just so smooth, and the shape is just perfect for me. My only complaint was the treble bleed circuit, and some of its side effects. I had it removed while my luthier was setting it up, and now it's pretty perfect in my eyes.

One thing that actually stood out for me was how in tune the guitar stayed when using the whammy bar. I know there are locking tuners but so many guitars of this type fall down where the strings do not move freely through the neck head stock nut and need some kind of sanding or chalking.

Therer are many pickup sets available off the shelf too eg Seymour Duncan, Bare Knuckle, etc etc. It just depends if you want a vintage Strat sound or something more modern and wirh higher output etc. Good luck with your search. I'm much happier with my Sire S7 guitar pickups now.

There is nothing wrong with the sound and tone of the Sire, but I was disappointed with the paintwork. The one I tried was the Champagne Gold, which looked really nice on all the you tube channels and pictures, but In reality I thought it looked a bit cheap compared to the Player. Since everybody was saying that the finish of the Sire was impeccable, I was a bit disappointed. Overall I thought the Player looked a lot better and sounded more like a strat. @@Spoilnins Hello there. I happy to. So I started to play the guitar in 1983 well before the RUclips and Social Media and I always wanted to try a Valley Arts Guitar as Larry endorsed the brand probably before recording "On Solid Ground". I was hoping that the Sire would capture some of the sound textures that Larry was world famous for. I was lucky to watch Larry perform at the Baked Potato with Terry Trotter and a few other LA's artists. After his first set I was lucky to speak to him and also managed to have a look at his Valley Arts guitar which I though was really lovely at it sounded amazing through his Dumble Amp. I knew that you could never truly create that feeling and also comfort from such an incredible guitar but thought I'd try the Sire which I bought from Andertons and was a little disappointed for many reasons I didn't like the neck at all and felt it was to chunky but that's a personal thing as I like the modern "C" shape. I didn't like the pickups as they sounded a little flat but you can always change those but it was the neck for me. The guitar is a lovely looking guitar and for the money it's perfect but it wasn't for me. So I traded it in for a PRS Silver Sky which was an incredible guitar and everything just fell into place. The neck was very nice to play and the pickups (which you can change) felt perfectly balanced and this for me was a really nice guitar however slightly higher priced. Both guitar in my opinion offer different experiences and comfort over electrics always comes first for me but also the cost of the guitar. I trade a lot of my old equipment against new guitars but have not got hold of my ultimate guitar yet but I don't think I ever will as it's one of the hardest guitars to find. Cost is a big factor but also I actually managed to pay the PRS in my local guitar shop where as the Sire I didn't as Andertons is a few hundred miles away. I'd like to mention that if you can I would always advise anyone just to try a guitar, pedal amp etc.. before you make that final decision. Bearing in mind I have just bought the Headrush Prime which I have been using for over a month. Thanks for the comment and all my best wishes and I hope that if people read this trying is sometime better than actually buying but sometime location is a factor as in the UK most of the guitar shops are now closing due to the bigger chains like Andertons so it's best to support your local guitar shop as once they are gone they won't be coming back. 😊😊😊😊😎😎👍👍

So after so many hours of trial and error, I found quite a few defects with it and I'm considering returning it to be honest.
so I was mega hyped by this guitar and everyone on the internet had only good things to say about it , I like how it sounds but for someone that is used to play an Ibanez S520 for almost 10 years, this guitar seems like a downgrade to be honest ..... where to start:
    - ah yea, the damn tremolo didn't fit unless I literally hammered it in with a rubber mallet because of a fabrication defect (i had looked inside the tremolo hole and it wasn't finished so a lot of metal is in there)
    - the action was too high and when I adjusted it a bit lower the frets started buzzing like hell
    - the backplate is not cut properly, I noticed this while re-stringing the guitar
    - scratchy frets, so while playing it and doing some good 'ol regular bends I immediately got cringed by the feel of starching strings over the frets ( i guess this will go away in time but it's horrible )
So all of these for me are kind of a deal-breaker, however I will take the guitar to a skilled luthier and let him give it a go at it and then play with it some more. I'm sorry to make this post into a rant but I'm extremely disappointed.
Despite of all the above I do have some good things to say about the guitar:
    - it sounds awesome, the s-s-h combo makes it an incredible versatile instrument and I really enjoyed so far the sounds it came out of it (this is the main reason I decided to give it another swing and postpone the return of the guitar)
    - locking tuners
    - electronics are super responsive and I love it (volume/tone/switch are good quality)
    - the neck feels good
    - the overall design & visuals are great
Conclusion: I got way too hyped for what it has to offer in terms of price/quality, at first contact I am disappointed but looking forward to test it more after I take it to my luthier and have him take a look of all the issues I'm having with it. Again this is my initial review of the guitar and I will follow up later.

Gsus4 didn’t ask us to make this video…we just mentioned them because they seem to be the only Australian dealer!
Sire sent us the guitars direct about a year ago. We are just a bit slow with making these videos 😜
We should do a video where we compare these to other Strats! To me the pickups seem to be less bright and tinny…but I never got on with Strats in the past

      Thanks Gabor,
I must have read too deeply between the spoken lines. 🤣 Yup, I know you've had the Sires for quite some time now....happy to stand corrected. 😎
And similarly how they sound. Given you've been playing or hearing them, you'd definitely know how they sound. I was only listening on my phone...just chilling after a long day of work, so hadn't fired up the 'real' listening system, but was conscious of an unpleasant shrill sound I'd occasionally hear.
A Fender comparison would be great, although you'd need to have an hss or you may have a S7 vintage just hanging round.
      Cheers. ✌️😎

Yes... I found the S7 Pickups to be harsh and bright too. I swapped them out because of this which increased the overall cost. I heard that the T7 pickups are also bright and harsh. I hope Sire revoice their Pickups in future models as I like the feel of the guitar apart from the stock pups.

Thats really strange...I find them to be way less bright & harsh than my other guitars with Strat style pickups

@@TSFAHTPS I also have a G&L Strat with MFD Pickups. The MFD Pickups seem for, me anyway, much better than the stock S7 pups. I am also much happier with the hand wound pick up set I swapped the original S7 pups out for.
Have Sire revoiced any S7 Pickups from the first batch originals? Maybe you possibly got a better pickup voicing in your S7.

Never bonded with mine l couldn’t really get going at all. Feels quite stiff and the necks are too rounded for my tastes , feels very baseball bat . Well made guitars maybe a pro set up would help but still don’t think I would like the neck

It's better than a Fender in my book. No fret issues for an overpriced guitar.

I just started guitar a couple of years ago. To my surprise, Guitarists have a lot of hang ups.... and not only color! Wow, what a worm hole I have discovered the idiosyncrasies of you players!
