After the death of my mom, rest in peace I have made huge decisions on my personal life, my financial life, and also my spiritual life. I’m hoping to get back on RUclips making videos and keeping track and holding myself accountable. This was a very good video simple sinking funds that actually makes sense to have.
First, I want to say I am so sorry for your loss. Second, I bet she would so be so proud to know that you are using this circumstance to push your forward in all areas of your life. Lastly, I wish you the very best in your new journey and new shift in life. Thanks for watching!!
I just opened a high yeild savings and I’m beyond excited for your video talking about that ! As a single mom of 5, running three businesses, holy cow j need the help
That's awesome. I'm so glad that you opened one. I really like mine. It's been very useful. Been crazy at the end of school year over here, but I'm hoping to get that video up very soon. Sorry for the delay. I'm thinking next Monday. It should be up and running. Thanks for your patience..
Laura, please don't be so hard on yourself. Live and learn, which you have. Now proceed with kindness to yourself. You are one of my budgeting heroes. This might be 2 steps forward, one step back, but you are still making progress. ❤ 25:43 Your revised way of using the budget trackers is so much more useful than the original method of use. Thank you for sharing it! I will now use mine this way. 😀 44:16 Good video, Laura. I look forward to your other videos in this series. ❤
Love this sooo much!!! Thank you for doing this video. I just decided last week to reverse the order of my low priority SF to reflect a goal amount and work it backwards but haven’t gotten around to fixing my tracker and envelope trackers. So happy to see you do it first! Gave me some good ideas. Thanks again!!!
Loooove watching your videos. Although we are completely opposite when it comes to minimalism vs color on our forms, i always come away with something new to try. Thank you😊
Shorts are meant to be short, so they can be filming the finished product for your check in! Time is finite, make it easier for you to be accountable 💜
You’re a mom of six (I’m a mom of four) I’m surprised you found time to read half a book. 😊 BTW, I love the wallet that you put in your purse. I have not been able to find anything like that. I have found smaller ones what I don’t think would work as well. If you would share a link that would be wonderful. Thanks.
So true, time is precious and usually busy with things. I can't find my exact one anymore 😒 but I am designing one. But until then, here is a link to an Amazon on that is the same size. A7 Budget Binder Set - Mini Money Organizer for Cash Saving, Cash Stuffing Envelope System, Planner Binders with Pockets, Sheets and Stickers, Black a.co/d/2w9jqXw
I love watching your videos. I am new to all of this and have a question on the sinking funds. Why don’t you just put all the money to your first goal and then when it is fully funded move on to the next instead of a little here and a little there and it taking so long to fund? I just don’t understand I am sorry. Thanks
Totally could do that, but I need multiple funds because for instance I may have a car problem and a house issue at the same time and if my I only have my car maintenance funded then I won't have anything for the house issue. Or what if I start with holiday funds but a car issue arises. So, like I said, you can totally do that, but I noticed I really need all of them to stay out of debt and not Rob Peter to pay Paul.
Actually, one of the doctors I work for made it for myself and coworkers and gave it to us with a candle and our Christmas bonus. So cute right, I thought it was so creative.
Driving a vehicle is expensive. Known expenses are insurance, registration. The most difficult expenses are unknown: preventive maintenance, repairs. This envelope is tough to keep a positive balance.
I looked into this a bit to figure out how much should go in my car maintenance and repairs sinking fund. It was hard to find a good guide but I finally settled on $600/year.
@@username00009 Thats good. What might cause you to stubble is $800 for new tires. Its OK. $600 in the envelope and $800 for tires should not cause a panic. With no cash envelopes you would need $800 and have nothing. Thats a panic mode.
Have you watched Poised Finance + Lifestyle? You're both Heart Mama's living in California and value Family and Finances=) Maybe you two could connect💙
Cash envelope stuffing will not solve a common money problem; that is, expenses exceed income. In the past year inflation has increased your expenses about 5 percent. If you were stuffing $2000/month, for example, you now must stuff $2100/month to pay the same expenses.
I get that. Is there any room in your life for a side hustle? Anything in excess to sell? What eats up the budget the most. Can you reverse grocery shop? Somethings I ask myself at the beginning of each month. But we can only do our best and that's all we can do. Keep going if you're budgeting, then you're already doing better than most. Hang there. 😃 ❤️
Laura, I'm thinking I might prefer to use your whole budget planner system, or at least some of your sheets. For now, are all the budget sheets used in today's video avail for purchase as a set, or at least individually in both paper form and downloadable form? If so, please list their names so I know the correct items to buy. Thanks. Valerie @CashBudgetRetiree
Yes, every form is sold on my website, I use the simple planner in the video. They come in A5 size or standard letter size. Here is a link to my website. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. www.thelymanjoycompany.com/
I absolutely love this, and when you showed using the tracker that way, I was like WHAAAT why didn't i see that before.
Thanks 😁 I am excited to get just a little better in a budget and make more progress.

Great ideas! I’m going to reevaluate my funds this weekend.
It really has added a new spark and motivation to keep moving forward!!
I am having to reevaluate what i can pay on debt. I wasnt taking into account some of the normal expenses
Well, I think reevaluating is wise and helps our budget to become more and more refined!!
Great video !! Helps to inspire me

That matchbox is cute. Did you buy or make it?

Driving a vehicle is expensive. Known expenses are insurance, registration. The most difficult expenses are unknown: preventive maintenance, repairs. This envelope is tough to keep a positive balance.
Indeed can be, on that I would aim high, and that's what having additional emergency funds is so important!!
I looked into this a bit to figure out how much should go in my car maintenance and repairs sinking fund. It was hard to find a good guide but I finally settled on $600/year.

Hello 👋
Most important is planner
Have you watched Poised Finance + Lifestyle? You're both Heart Mama's living in California and value Family and Finances=) Maybe you two could connect💙
I haven't, I will check her out and reach out. Thanks for the connection, I really appreciate it. 😃
Cash envelope stuffing will not solve a common money problem; that is, expenses exceed income. In the past year inflation has increased your expenses about 5 percent. If you were stuffing $2000/month, for example, you now must stuff $2100/month to pay the same expenses.
Indeed, but that's why every hundred I stuff I replace with prop money and put it into a high yield saving account making 5% APY. Gap closed.
Itt is getting harder and harder to budget. Not much left to cut out either.
