  • In this second painting critique, four more of my favorite landscape oil paintings are reviewed for their strengths and weaknesses. I think is very important to do this every now and then to gain knowledge on how you might improve future work. The paintings are a mix of plein air and studio. I hope you enjoy this critique and discussion.

I love these critiques. I think it will really help me with my painting. Pretty much everything I’ve learned I’ve learned by watching RUclips and I’ve really begun to enjoy getting pretty good at it. But having you critique your own work, which I think is great stuff, it allows me to look at my work with a better eye. And I think that will help me really improve.

Those are beautiful paintings Bruce especially the last two. Your colour tones are super and really pop the sunlight

Successful paintings; they carry very well. Wish I could see them close up in person.

Thanks Christine. Maine is awesome to paint. I'd like to get back to Monhegan Island this summer.....but with all going on, who knows when we'll "open" back up. Stay safe.

Beautiful work Bruce, Your got some great paintings there Mate. The first painting with the shadows on the road was really nice. That is hard to master grass/road/grass all in shadow. You done well there. Happy painting Bruce 🎨👍

Hi Terry - Yes I would. I've had students in the past and have presented several workshops. Do you live in Maine or are you looking for something virtual (online) ?
