Hey this was great!!! Nice job! Love the big cone sermon!! Also great job showing the electrical box! Hooray! Nice job taking what you learned to help folks!
Thanks Kat for all the info. When I got my kiln it’s used, so I don’t know what I will have to replace yet. It’s so hard these days to get anything done. You go to buy the electric boxes and no one has any in stock and don’t know when they can get any. It sure has been an aggravating experience this year trying to get set up. Seams like it’s one thing after another. When I eventually get to plug it in I hope it works. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
The second plug took way longer than I thought and cost a lot more too. Then the great glaze and talc shortage. I also have a construction company and wow it is hard to get any project completed
I used to hav an A88B kiln. Ended up selling it and bought a used evenheat pf 1822. I just ordered a new gensis controller for it. Close to $1000.00 but far cheeper than a new kiln. Keep up the video's they help people and your learning as well.
I plan on keeping them up. I like being able to go back and say wow it was x date that I tried this or that. I am treating it as a video journal. I am good with a written journal
Can you show more on the small kiln . We just got a kiln ,and a pottery wheel . We have to do some electric stuff to be able to run it . But , am so happy right now .
I will show more! I have not worked on it much. Just adjusted the kilnsitter. What all do you want me to show you. I would be happy to. Also I am so happy for you to get a kiln and wheel. So exciting
I had a terrible time seeing in the peeps as well since you aren’t supposed to look directly in it without welding glasses. I found out that if you use a strong flashlight you can see in there really well!!! Hope that helps. I only have manual kilns. The smaller the kiln it will cool faster, of course. I had to put my kilns out in my shed and had to have electricity put out there, twice! It takes a lot of power for sure. My shed is about 80 feet from my house so the cord is very thick and heavy but I finally got the right amount of power out there.
I have the welding glasses and a welding helmet and use a good flashlight. I don't know why I still have problems. Last time was better though. I blew in it. I don't know how that helped but it did lol. I have one manual and one digital
@@KatAtkinson I don’t think you need true welding glasses … most ceramic shops sell glasses for looking into the kiln that are not to be used for welding. Welding glasses are super dark.
It really depends on your budget... I started with a manual kilnsitter that is 2.6 cubic feet. My L&l e23t-3 is a digital and I got it used. You can spend as little or as much as you like. My small one got used for 80-100 with all the kiln furniture. My L&L was used 2500.00. New could be double that.thrn electric is a lot too. I have to say I love my L&L because how easy it is to repair and change out the elements and other things that can go bad. It has 3 heat zones for a more even fire. It has 3 inch bricks
Very good helpful video. You have done enough with your kilns to be a pro at it. 😍
It has been a struggle ...for real lol

I have made some mistakes and if I can help someone else to not do that, I will be happy. Thank you for helping to guide me on my way
