The blend of history with a mystery is the Clive Cussler way. I enjoy every book he's written. And of course who doesn't like Dirk Pitt!

Custler was an amazing author until his latter years when he was replaced with ghost writers that not only wrote the books released under his name but did so in a away that most of his later books were extremely similar. After his death, they still produced a lot of new books under his name because of nothing but greed and abused his name.
