Originally I was all about the X version. Dragon/fire is great. But over time I realize a hard hitting special attacker with drought and solar beam can be awesome too. Just have to be careful of pokemon that resist fire and grass, like dragon and fire types.
Oh yeah, one thing to point out, before charizard mega evolves it has the fire-flying typing, so that means if mega charizard-X switches in to stealth rocks without mega evolving first, it still takes out half its health in one hit

I like x better in design but I like using y because it is better in main stories having ability being drought so you can use solar beam or fireblast stab drought so its better

personally, i LOVE both of these megas. I tend to lean towards X, due to, well, having a copy of X, and the single battle advantage. i almost NEVER play doubles, triples, or the stupid rotation battles, with the only times being when it is absolutely necessary. (Lisa/Tate's Gym in Hoenn)
I really love x's design and typing, but I think y bit better because it is easier to have a move set that is compatible for y and normal form, and it benefits better from the stat bonus, as well as drought, but damn charizard x. I think it was because of the fact that the two legendaries in gen 6 were xerneas for X and yveltal for Y. Based on looks, it was pretty easy for people to pick y over X and Nintendo needed people to buy X as well. (That's what I think, I'm not saying xerneas or Charizard y look bad, they just don't look as good as their respective counterparts)
I wish that for Mega evolutions they went from one of the mega forms turning into a different or adding a type while the other stays the same type but become a much stronger version. Charizard X and Y are good examples. They should have Gyarados have one of his forms become a Water/Dragon type and his other form would stay the same but become a much stronger version.
Well... Gyarados is meant to be based off a myth of a dragon that was stripped of it's title of a dragon due to it abusing it's powers as a dragon due to its aggressive nature

Love them both. I used Charizard X in my first play through ( I’m quite young... I played x because of xerneas) but I really like battling with Y, drought, solar beam and that special attack is mental.
I'd go with Y because I love fire types and Charizard with that amazing sp attack stats and drought works well, especially since I prefer doubles and normally have a fast attacker and a bulky healer working together.

Charizard Y because it has the ability to make it a sunny day. This is helpful because you can give Charizard the move Solar Beam, which is grass type, and then surprise water types trying to take you down.

In the last catagory X's fire moves would also gain a boost from Y's drought ability since Drought affects every pokemon on the field. A fire fang from Mega Charizard X would be really powerful gaining a boost from s.t.a.b, tough claws, and Drought. All those boost combined give Mega Charizard X a Fire Fang with a power of 194.
Hmm.. When you say that Charizard X only takes away 25% of health, you have to mega evolve so you will still take 50% before you even become Char X Great video anyway!
unless you start off with charizard , mega evolve , switch to other pokemon , and then if opponent uses stealthrocks , if yu switch back to charizard it has alredy been mega evolved and so the deamage from stealth rock can differ
Charizard Y has Special Attack as much as Alakazam and with Drought and STAB, Flamethrower is OP. Just not good against stealth rock hazard and having Solar Beam is useful.
I like x more because of the great color scheme, the blue flames, and finally getting the dragon type the only flaw I really see with it is the wings...
I've preferred X. Y just kind of looks... Ridiculous to me. Something about its face and the extra spike on its head made it feel dumb to me. While X just looked more sleek in my opinion. Sure, it might not be the best in combat, but I'd prefer it over Y.

I feel like people just swarmed to Mega Charizard X because of the design, but personally I think Y is WAY cooler and it is really good competitively too, I just hate how Charizard X gets more appearances like in Smash and in the anime, I wish Charizard Y got a chance to shine. +RFGaming Well Mega Charizard X would fit better in Smash due to the physical brawling part of Mega Charizard X. But I have to say that Mega Charizrd Y does need more love. It takes what already makes Charizard awesome and turns things up to 11. But I will say both have a purpose and they fulfill that purpose very well.
I prefer Charizard X, personally. While Charizard Y really benefits from the Solar Beam and Drought combo, it sorta makes him predictable as it the major reason he's an OU Pokemon. With X, however, Charizard can learn loads of physical moves, he can even use Thunder Punch. And since his ATK and Sp. A share similar stats, it's possible to run a mixed movepool. I know it sounds stupid at first but incase you go up a physical tank that resist your moves, you are gonna wish you learned at least one special move. Plus, Dragon/Fire is a much cooler typing. That's just my two cent.

both megas are great, i use em both, everything you talked about in this vid is very true. i use x for single challenge in battle maison/tree and y for double challenge. Get Y, then either Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. Both games have both versions of Charizardite and Mewtwonite, so you don't have to pick!

I used Charizard X in my first play through ( I’m quite young... I played x because of xerneas) but I really like battling with Y, drought, solar beam and that special attack is mental.

I'd go with Y because I love fire types and Charizard with that amazing sp attack stats and drought works well, especially since I prefer doubles and normally have a fast attacker and a bulky healer working together.
My friend told me I couldn't sweep him with my Mega Zard X.Then we made a 5$ bet that I would sweep him with just Mega Zard X.He chose a whole lot of physical walls.Then my Tough Claws came into affect with my moveset. (Dragon Claw,Flare Blitz,Roost,Dragon Dance)Roost because that drought will make me take alor more damage from recoil (Tough Claws)plus,loose the flying type,I'm not even a flying type in the first place.
One problem that I have, you kept bringing up stealth rock. I rarely see stealth rock used. If I saw it more I would totally agree with you.

In the last catagory X's fire moves would also gain a boost from Y's drought ability since Drought affects every pokemon on the field. A fire fang from Mega Charizard X would be really powerful gaining a boost from s.t.a.b, tough claws, and Drought. All those boost combined give Mega Charizard X a Fire Fang with a power of 194.
They should had just put the color scheme and type of charizard x on charizard y and then it will be one simple mega Evolution
Literally the typing and colour scheme of X combined with the ability and shape of Y would be perfect

Hmm.. When you say that Charizard X only takes away 25% of health, you have to mega evolve so you will still take 50% before you even become Char X

Charizard Y has Special Attack as much as Alakazam and with Drought and STAB, Flamethrower is OP. Just not good against stealth rock hazard and having Solar Beam is useful.
I like x more because of the great color scheme, the blue flames, and finally getting the dragon type the only flaw I really see with it is the wings...

I've preferred X. Y just kind of looks... Ridiculous to me. Something about its face and the extra spike on its head made it feel dumb to me. While X just looked more sleek in my opinion. Sure, it might not be the best in combat, but I'd prefer it over Y.

I played Y so I’ll always prefer Mega Charizard Y, but I don’t hate mega X either. It was interesting to see how each was better in different ways.
I feel like people just swarmed to Mega Charizard X because of the design, but personally I think Y is WAY cooler and it is really good competitively too, I just hate how Charizard X gets more appearances like in Smash and in the anime, I wish Charizard Y got a chance to shine. It's like the forgotten shadow... :(

+RFGaming Well Mega Charizard X would fit better in Smash due to the physical brawling part of Mega Charizard X. But I have to say that Mega Charizrd Y does need more love. It takes what already makes Charizard awesome and turns things up to 11. But I will say both have a purpose and they fulfill that purpose very well.

I prefer Charizard X, personally. While Charizard Y really benefits from the Solar Beam and Drought combo, it sorta makes him predictable as it the major reason he's an OU Pokemon. With X, however, Charizard can learn loads of physical moves, he can even use Thunder Punch. And since his ATK and Sp. A share similar stats, it's possible to run a mixed movepool. I know it sounds stupid at first but incase you go up a physical tank that resist your moves, you are gonna wish you learned at least one special move. Plus, Dragon/Fire is a much cooler typing. That's just my two cent.

both megas are great, i use em both, everything you talked about in this vid is very true. i use x for single challenge in battle maison/tree and y for double challenge. Personally I always lean towards Y mostly based on design. Look at them and then look at the original Charizard. Which one actually looks like an evolution of Charizard? Y. X looks like fanart. GOOD fanart mind you but the Y form in my opinion looks better.
I used to really like x 4 years ago it looked so cool and was so op in singles but now I think Charizard x looks like fan service or a cartoon dragon while Charizard y looks like normal Charizard and looks like a legitimate mega for charizard
Mega Charizard X is a mistake of nature and shouldn't even exist, and was just created to appease fans still crying that Charizard isn't a Dragon type. It also looks far too edgy.
