Specifically; Sumerian - Innana, Akkadian/Babylonian/Assyrian - Ishtar, Ugaritic - Ashtart, Phoenician - Astarte. (Greek - Aphrodite???? It's possible that the early cult of Aphrodite was introduced to the Hellenes by Phoenician traders).

One major target for Chaos space marine incursions are geneseed banks, since their own geneseed tends to get mutated by exposure to the Warp. One source of recruits are daemon worlds. You may wonder at how a human might survive on a planet consumed by Chaos, but you gotta remember that Chaos feeds on emotion. Chaos doesn’t want to exterminate humans, just put us in a state that is more… nourishing. People who live on daemon worlds tend to be excellent warriors.

    In regards to the names:
Yes (Adeptus) Astartes means Space Marines. One is the high-gothic name, the other is the low-gothic name. Low-gothic is basically English and high-gothic a sort of bastardized latin. Low-gothic is the common language in the Empire of Man, while high-gothic is the formal imperal language. Adepta Sororitas/Sisters of Battle, Adeptus Ministorum/Ecclesiarchy and Astra Militarum/Imperal Guard are other such examples of the high/low-gothic difference in names.

With the Legions, Yes... Each legion was commanded by their Primarch, but each legion was on average a force of 80,000 to 100,000 Astartes in number, with some of the bigger legions (Ultramarines, Dark Angels) having close to or over 200,000 battle ready Astartes.
After to the Heracy, and the Codex Astartes was accepted by the Primarchs, each chapter was to be no more than 1000 Space Marines in number, with one chapter allowed to keep their original name and iconography and armour colour scheme. The other chapters would have to choose a new name and new colours for their armour l, and a new emblem for the chapter.

If you'd filter out 'incompatible' recruits at the beginning, you wouldn't get serfs (especially fit serfs for hard manual tasks). What that rejection in the middle of the program and becoming a serf is well depicted in the novel "Legion of the Damned - A Space Marine Battles novel".
Also an addition to the "Black Carapace". You can imagine it like the Interfaceports in the humans in "The Matrix". When you move a muscle: your brain signals your muscles the required information via your nerves, the Black Carapace now also relays those to the armor so it reacts "on it's own" additionally the armor can give information to the marine directly via those ports. No informationsystem in your body is faster than your nerves.

Oculus Imperia is a great channel too, his style is more... "in universe" like he is a scribe of the Imperium telling you about their lore, and sort of from their perspective.
Baldermort is great, and more a true story teller, writes his own fanfiction to go with his stuff. Its amazing.

The pre-imperium history is very vague, because most records are lost, but what we know is that from the 15th millenia to the 25th millenia, humanity lived a Golden Age known as the Dark Age of Technology, during which they reached their peak of technology. Most technologies of the Imperium are salvaged tech from that age that had survived time and the main goal of the Adeptus MEchanicus is to find more of these technological relics.
The Age of Strife is the period that follows after the Dark Age of Technology, from the 25th to the 30th millenia, we don't know what caused the Age of Strife, probably the apparition of Psykers in the human population that were protected and taken care of, but basically during the Age of Strife, humanity ceased to be an unified empire and just falled into anarchy and civil war, and demonic invasions (probably becaus eof the Psykers ^^).
The Age of Strife end with the Emperor and the Imperium of Man.
Tl;dr Dark Age of Technology = peak of progress. Age of Strife = big fall. Imperium of Man = current age, still shitty.

Fun to watch and as a 20 year 40k fan its funny seeing how you react and then your commenary to this, when i know you are only grasping the very tip of just how grim and dark the 40k universe is and its truely insane scale both in world and in a lore/literary form.
It is truely grimdark and there are NO good guys, just shades of grey and the only thing that can be relied upon is every faction will do whatever it takes to reach its own goals.
the hive worlds are bacically an entire planet thats atmosphere is pretty much screwed so humanity will pretty much all exist inside a few 'hive citys' these would be thousands upon thousands of sqaure mile cityscape what go up though the clouds in a spire type shape with the best being upwards and everything below is nightmare fuel near lawless ghetto slums. some long forgotten areas may even be discovered with valuable archeotech lost thousands of years ago.
Its a fun world were everyone should be able to find something that they think is cool enough to be able to join in the hobby in whatever fashion they choose. just leave any and all notions of fairness, equality, honesty, values, etc at the door, every faction has their own versions and styles of all these notions and for all their own reasons, so we only need to bring ourselves and our imagination along to be able to enjoy it.

9:32 the marines from starcraft are one with the suit space marines less so. they have connections to their brain so they can absorb/transfer information quickly but other then that not so much. starcrat marines suits however are drilled into their body as its their tomb and once on they will die in it.
18:49 yes originally each primarch was in command of their own legion when the G man came back and made the codex (which would mark the second founding) it was decided that to ensure that nothing like the Horace heresy could happen again the primarchs would still be in charge of their "chapter" (consisting of normally 1000 marines) each chapter is an independent organization and while primarchs have sway over their successor chapters a chapter master is still fully within their own right to deny a request from a primarch.
22:32 hive worlds just mean really dense population within the 41st millennium there are around 32,000 planets considered hive worlds. classification of a hive world kinda differs. there are some with recorded populations of under 1billion. all the way upwards of 100billion. and it depends on the chapter as to how recruiting is done since its left up to that chapter. some recruit only from specific worlds. and methods range from a brawl to weird trials the space wolves have an odd recruitment where after many grueling trials you are then given the honor of going through another trial that makes everything else a joke.
and even with the new add on's for the primarus marines they are still dying left and right while traditional marines are marching on.

Space marines being able to remove their armour is vitality important for them for a number of different reasons, space marines are not expendable they live for hundreds even thousands of years and will need medical attention countless times requiring the removal of their armour, armour itself will be damaged and need replacing as well as regular maintenance and space marine chapters have multiple different patterns of basic space marine armour that's why you see a lot of space marines have almost identical armour but not quite they also have terminator armour which is a totally different set of armour to the standard armour which gives even better defence and power at the cost of being a bit more bulky and slower all of this requires them to be able to remove their armour

Take the Roman empire give it control of the entire galaxy gave it the military tactics of ww1/2 give it weapons capable of destroying planets give it the religious zeal of the Spanish inquisition sprinkle bit of magic on top and you get the imperium of man in warhammer 40k

It's a little frustrating when you stop to ask questions, but no one is answering the questions. Getting answers from the chat afterwards isn't as effective as a live interactive chat. I think that might be more entertaining. This way you can learn stuff in real time. That's my two cents anyway. I do enjoy your personally though and your reaction videos. Contrast to popular beliefs whilst space marines are strong and powerful they’re essentially expendable cannon fodder during the great crusade in which rather than the typical thousand strong chapters of the 40K timeline, during the crusade it wasn’t entirely unheard of for a legion to be ten thousand to over a million strong excluding things like say pilots or mechanics just pure infantry and thats also excluding their access to much more advanced and more powerful weapons and equipment compared to the current equipment, where in a single campaign where a single or six titans might be sent to one planet in which case the war for Armageddon only had uk to twenty titans including a single emperator class titan, however during the crusade a single space marine legion could call upon the might of up to a thousand titans in a single engagement as well as legions of highly trained guard regiments and solar auxilia forces along with a sizable contingent of highly advanced skitari cohorts, and again whilst yes 40K is over the top and whilst yes there are far more powerful factions out there like the dalek empire or a fully evolved flood from halo and so on but outside of the most far fetched parts of the sci fi universe 6/10 times the imperium would win due to their complete and utter dedication to warfare and again I’m only referring to 30k in which again the imperium was pumping out space marines by the millions and if they didn’t get you, then either a titan or solar axiala would

The Thunder Warriors were larger and stronger than the Space Marines, and even the Custodes in terms of raw physical strength, but they were mentally and physically unstable and did not have the same plethora of organs or the advanced equipment of their fellow post-human supersoldiers.
To answer another question you may have at some point, be it now or later, the reason the Space Marines were created when the Custodes were already a thing and the Thunder Warriors were already incredibly strong and just needed to be stabilized, the Custodes themselves are essentially the perfect post-human supersoldier, but they are insanely hard to create, to the point where there has only ever been 10,000 of them at any given time. The Custodes are also very single-minded in their dedication to the Emperor, and so limits their ability to conduct themselves in other roles; a Custodes would be an excellent general and statesman, but he would be insufferably blunt.
The Thunder Warriors were essentially the Emperor's own attempts to create more cost-effective Custodes, but he was deliberately trying to make a cheap knock-off with limited resources, and so the Thunder Warriors were incredibly unstable and were prone to fits of psychotic berserker rage, and would often simply keel over dead or just explode or melt in their armor from sudden rapid mutation or cellular degradation. Fixing them wasn't really viable, as they would probably all die before he could find a solution, so better to have them die as martyrs at the last battle of the Unification Wars than to die ignoble deaths as mental patients or potentially jeopardize the golden image of the fledgling Imperium.
The Space Marines were created using the Primarchs as a more stable genetic outline, and were less radically altered than the Thunder Warriors, and were created through the combined efforts of the best geneticists on Terra instead of JUST the Emperor. It's actually noted that the first crop of Space Marines fought alongside the Custodes and the Emperor during the battle to cull the Thunder Warriors.

Normal human not subjected to harsh or "inhumane" condition (pretty widespread in 40k) in m41 do have slightly longer lifespan then modern day. But not extremely so. 150ish give or take 50 years.
Space marines can live 10,000ish years *IF* they are in dreadnought and are placed in status regularly. So basically life support.
Without this 3000ish years seems to be the cap as we see with baribus of the iron warriors.
