I know we all joke about theme park BBQ being completely benign but I know for a FACT Tom thanks his lucky stars every time they announce a barbecue restaurant, simply because it means he doesn't have to taste test theme park pizza again.
They most likely souvied the brisket, sliced it up and then threw it all in the smoker which is why it doesn’t taste like anything. They would need to do that in order to make bulk brisket is such a small space.
I could watch y’all’s food reviews all day!! I really appreciate that y’all have good table manners. I never have to worry about hearing someone smack while eating!

Being from the South, I already have strong opinions on Disney barbecue, and they're not good. As much as I love Impossible meat, that should not be better than the actual meat in a place like this. Nor should the tater tots be the best thing on the menu. I think I'll stick with Flame Tree as my go-to in the parks. Otherwise, if I'm in Orlando and want barbecue, I'm headed to Bubbalou's or somewhere similar.
No offence to Disney, but imo the best ribs are at The 3 Broomsticks in Universal. Thank you for taking the time to check out this restaurant for us. 😊

Sounds like a typical overpriced Disney food. I know there is a Pizza Planet in Tomorrow Land,but if they recreated the actual one in the movie and changed the pizza recipes I think it would have been a huge hit.
It’s funny because I have seen a couple reviews on this place and they are all over the place to everything is great to everything is bad and all the in between so it sounds like they definitely need to get in a groove and work the kinks out still seems worth a try in about 6 months
Here's my theory around "impossible sausage": If you don't eat meat because you don't like the taste of meat, you're not going to like impossible meats. People who enjoy eating meat but for whatever reason choose not to, like the "impossible" meat options.
I’ve watched like 5 reviews for this restaurant (because I have issues 😅) and the sausage seems to be the winner overall as far as the meat options go.
My husband is a meat and potato man or surf and turf. He keeps on talking about going to Joe’s Stone crab and they had the best salad then you know it’s good. He said the salad is a addiction. It’s so good. So I look forward to tasting this salad in the future.
Thanks Tom for the honest and fair review. Dined there last week while on vacation and agree this is well themed. Food is average at best. Drinks are good, but too expensive to try more than one.

Tbf people are saying it was all bad and disappointing. The salads were rated good, sides rated good, vegan dishes good, Drinks good, sauces good. Meat poor. Once they fix the meat dishes we have a winner do we not?

That's so sad that the bbq is terrible. BBQ is the star of the show and it's terrible that they couldn't get it right. The brisket looked like cooked bacon. A damn shame that the only good things were the sides and the drinks. We waited this long for this?

It's a shame that all the influencers flooded Roundup Rodeo BBQ on the first day. The average family wasn't able to enjoy the food and experience the restaurant. I really think influencers think themselves as entitled.
They put some other dressing on the salad, and put the green goddess on the supposedly loaded tots. Food looks good, but menu seems half-baked in some regards.

I didn't have high expectations for this place. Disney can't seem to do BBQ right. We think that Regal Eagle is just horrible. Whispering canyon is probably the best out of all of them.
To hear that this is worse than Whispering Canyon is sad. I've only been to Whispering Canyon once and it was pretty sub-par so I was hoping they would improve here.
I think we might have, in our frustration with the typical Disney food reviews being overly sunny and then getting burned by that, been a little exuberant when we see Tom's reviews. Because unlike some others, he doesn't pull punches. You actually see him try the food and give real time reactions. If he doesn't like it, he says he doesn't like it. If he's not impressed, he's not going to grasp at straws to praise it. At the end of the day, a lot of the food inside Disney parks is just okay, and you're paying a premium for it when you've probably had better at a chain restaurant. So if you see overly glowy reviews of the food from any reviewer, be wary.

I ate here today and as a former chef at Disney I felt the food was mediocre at best. The potato barrels were my favorite thing.

Diz does a good job with the Vegan menus. Rondos has a few that are hits.
I go to Disney several times a year. Not a fan of Disney's plant based food. Have not found an item I like.
The plant based short rib that is at a lot of Epcot festivals is out of this world
20 minutes in and all I can think about is that dang parody commercial. "Ulysses S. Lunchbox" is living rent-free in my head 😂

I starve whenever I'm at MK or HS. Most of the food is somewhere between mediocre and atrocious.
Ronto wrap is my go to in HS, but other than that... yup.
