Chime Shutoff Lever?

Doesn't feel like it is preloaded with any tension on it.

mine feels like there are 5 detent positions. any ideas which each position does?

there a screw to tighten en it but take hands off and dial to get to screws i have mantle clock with same thing but i tighten it and it worked

The screw that tightens the lever must have fell out. It happened to my grandfather clock.

I have a Seth Thomas grandfather clock and it does the same thing and the chime no longer works.
