WHEN ON THE COMPUTER, I will CTRL+R (Refresh) when I detect an AD and the video starts over. There are a few things you have to be watching closely at first, and one is paying attention to the length of the video time at the bottom-left. If the time shows something like 0:15 that means it's a 15 second AD and you do the CTRL+R (Refresh) thing and hope your video starts without the AD. If you get an AD in the middle of the video, quickly pay attention to the first part of the timer which shows the time point you are currently watching and do the CTRL+R (Refresh) thing again and this should bypass the AD, but you may have to scroll over to the point the AD interrupted your video. Sometimes you'll get a really aggressive AD and CTRL+R (Refresh) CTRL+R (Refresh) CTRL+R (Refresh) a few times in a row is what it takes. I wonder if this is artificially inflating the "watched" video count for the publisher every time I refresh the screen, but I really don't care, I'm not watching the AD's. Your mileage may vary.
Ads have gone nuts. I'll try to watch a fifteen minute video and it will be interrupted five times with ad breaks, and if I'm not sitting right there to press the skip button, some of them will go on for five minutes. Remember the old days of television in which commercials came on usually every fifteen minutes but no less than ten minutes? Imagine trying to watch tv with ads interruptions every three minutes.
@@sferg9582 Or you could just dl ReVanced or Newpipe or Brave Browser, or some other options besides those 3, and not see any of them, ever. Your choice. I personally haven't seen any for years.
I keep getting a washing liquid ad that has a short 22 second version and a long 58 second version, I mute all the ads, but last time I went shopping with my wife, she reached for that brand (that she's been using since before she met me) and I told her I refused to buy it because of their aggressive YT ad campaign. Those constant ads pissing me off has lost them sales for life rather than gained them sales! Well done YT and well done Procter & Gamble.
That time when there was one ad skippable after 5 seconds was ok. Advertisers actually tried to make these 5 seconds interesting so people would keep watching.
Absolutely... I stopped using Gillette because of RUclips ADS not because of the shit they, Gillette, pulled with the Trans crap. I stopped going to Ace Hardware and Lowes because of RUclips ADS... Superbowl... RUclips ad wrecked that... Daytona 500 again RUclips ad wrecked that one too. SO MANY THINGS RUclips INSISTED I WATCH AN AD OF... I HAVE DUMPED SO MANY THINGS... GOOGLE BEING ONE OF THOSE THINGS... I use Brave now and DO NOT HAVE TO TOLERATE ANY ADS ANYWHERE INCLUDING ON RUclips. Now the only ads I see are on the sides of News Websites or ON BILLBOARDS ALONG THE ROAD... Occasionally on the WANNABE RADIO we have these days. Something else I dumped because of the idea WE WANNA HEAR THE SAME THREE SONGS EVERY FIFTEEN MINUTES ALL DAY LONG... LIKE GET SOME REASON RADIO HOSTS/DJ's AGAIN AND LESS COMMERCIALS THEN RUclips AND THEN MAYBE RADIO WILL BE POPULAR AGAIN...
I watch TV, I have FW/RW and FFW/FRW buttons. I skip all adds and it's very useful when I watch long shows like UFC events, I skip all Mumbo-Jumbo and watch just fights, I even skip 1 minute rests btw rounds (naturally I don't watch PPV, I'm from Europe and I rather sleep and watch in the morning).
I tried watching Snowpiercer on Cable. Dear God the number of ads was insane. First time I've watched "network or Cable" in almost 3 years. I won't complain about 20 seconds of RUclips ads. at least not yet
And theren there's cable, afaik people moved to Netflix because you can watch all the videos they have there without ads and now they're attempting to add some ads somewhere.
I usually skip EVERY ad...the creators I watch tend to constantly have their videos demonitized. It's unacceptable to run ads on content they demonitized and is shameful!
You don’t have to even watch for 5 seconds. Pause the ad. Count 5 seconds and go back and restart the video. It will play the video. You still take 5 seconds but only see 1 second of the ad.
RUclips has reached the point where if its a short video and it starts with an ad, I skip the video altogether to not watch an ad. It feels too much work.
If the topic of the video really appeals to you, zap off the ad, scroll down to Library on the left, click on your choice again. If they start with an ad once more, repeat. I’ve found sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t.
I've been using this technique for a while, and it works. Over time YT keeps increasing the amount of ads and the length of them. It's ridiculous. Enough already!
Extra tip: to prevent the video from going back to the beginning after you've cut out the ad using the remote control, you need to restart the video from the "history". In this case, there will be no additional ads, and the video will pick up where you left off.
Some YT channels put the ad at the end of their videos-bless their hearts! You can then go directly to the next video without fear of missing any content.
*OnLy when my Boy, came Home from SchooL as a GirL, Did I FinaLLy Get Pissed OFF!!!!* *OnLy THEN did I Know that there was something WRONG with the SChooLs!!!!*
I already did exactly this and I suspect a lot of others so thanks for making RUclips aware of it. I'm on the verge of boycotting RUclips, ads are incredibly annoying. I find it hard to believe people buy stuff after watching ads but hey that's what the ad people want RUclips to believe.
In Poland there's a famous Polish TV station that has 15 minutes ads and people once wrote to them: why15 mins? They replied: because we can't do longer blocks... And we even created a saying: You want to watch ads and suddenly - the film happens. :D The funniest thing is people are mostly immune to ads and rarely buy anything because it was advertised.
Every youtuber is missing the point. Not watching the ads is not about saving time, it's about ads being mind poison, it's like eating junk food for your brain. I do not watch ads on principle, I make it a point to never buy anything from an ad I was forced to watch unwillingly. People's subconscious are damaged and manipulated by ads and nobody seems to notice.
Oh I noticed all right it's why I generally don't watch broadcast TV or the news that is deliberately script written now there's a great video that shows 50 local news stations reading the exact same script about Trump and things being a threat to our democracy with misinformation yada yada yada and the planned for compliance and imprisonment test they put on us recently a couple years back the test of the emergency control system is I like to college another way to do it it's not about safety it's about let's kill you or control you or kill you or subdue and conquer you or about poison 4 your mind or poison 4 your body... U are an expendable commodity to them and they really couldn't get to shit she actually has a price value on your human carcass and I can't pull the number out of my head off the top but it's only in the thousands it's really sad as shit and you think about it 💯👀😶🌫️🫥
Spot on my friend. Ads are population behavior control using methods of manufacturing consent, doublespeak & various other techniques. This has been going on full force, no stops barred for decades & gives new meaning to herd mentality. Yup, yah spot on.
i don't need their garbage, i can't afford their garbage, i don't wanna see the same shit 10 times a day or even once. the ad is boring anyway so i can't enjoy it at all and i shouldn't. it's like 100% impossible X3 that i would buy anything anyway, they're just making my life even more miserable until i reach a point of total mental breakdown
yeah. and why can't they make a channel thats nothing but their ads? If your into ads then you could go to that freaking channel. I'm too old to be wasting my time with ads. If i need something i pretty much know how and where to go to get what i want. in other words ( listen up ad people) We don't need no stinking commercials!
You have described exactly what I do...move to a different video, and even then, I find the clock starts at where it left off the video I was watching...so I leave the room entirely and come back, if I am interested in the video, I was watching, if not I switched RUclips off. RUclips needs to be careful, people are not going to stand for their manipulation.
If I get ads, unless it is a vid I really want, I skip the vid. Companies should realise that a lot of viewers are so angered by forceful ads that they would never buy their products out of principle. Ads therefore not only fail, but REDUCE sales.
I think the ads companies also bully the vendors by doing brain damaging ads to force for yt premium not to sell the product. There is a corruption ay the ads companies. They must be investigated if they are making a cooperation with google
Месяц назад+1
I did that but then they hit you with a full minute, they add up and punish you
Actually the advert companies are working for the google. They are not even trying to sell the product in the ads, but forcing people to buy yt premium
I've started doing this too, and it works! I like RUclips a lot, but I absolutely refuse to pay $72 bucks each month to get rid of ads! My rent itself is through the roof and beyond and I never learned the art of shitting money haha! There is no reason that the price should be that ridiculously high other than disgusting selfish greediness! Thanks for the video!
The algorithm is hysterical. I just got denied access to a video because of my ad blocker. Never happened before. I hit the back key on the computer and this video comes up! Brilliant!
Or Bots... But they have been around since two thousand five. And when you mention this, the tube deletes your comment about it.. without warning, reasons, even comments with replies and questions to them.. or now exposing letter people in videos...
As you say, there must be moderation. If RUclips wants to drown us with ads, then we have to find a way to get around that situation. If they actually want us to watch the ads, they need to dial them back to something reasonable.
Not really - they want to drive as much people as possible to paid subscription. Ads aren't just revenue source anymore - they are tools of psychological torment
@@MuffHam I have found if they have to advertise something then it's not worth buying to start with. A good product does get spread pretty well by word of mouth fairly quickly and rarely an advertisement for it.
@@grzegorzdomagala9929 That may well be the case. But they are killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. SOME people will pay for the subscription, but relatively few will. People are not happy with RUclips as it is. If they are going to make paying for a subscription necessary to use their platform, people will find another platform. Why pay for a subscription to a platform you don’t like?
My even lower tech method: for short ads, I just mute, look away, and detect when ad is done using peripheral vision. If repeated longer ads keep popping up despite back button attempts, I skip the video and click quickly on and off on other videos to punish the algorithm. Then, when I return to the video, the ad is almost always gone. A few rare times, I left a video altogether that was constantly interrupted. Since then, the ads seemed to have greatly reduced. I think the algorithm learned that the ads are a waste of time on me. Resistance that is NOT futile.
Static ads on pages that don't obstruct what you're doing are reasonable. Moving videos, pop ups, or forced commercials are obnoxious disruptions and I'm fine blocking them.
Use Ad Blockers in your "Tool" Section ( if Computer ) at top of screen and then under Add-ons and Themes. They are Free! NO, this is Not a Ad. I do Not get paid for this. Just letting people know..
The worst thing with YT ads to me is that they increase the volume drastically over the videos. So for me mostly watching YT with headphones ads can actually hurt in my ears. Hate that even more than the time lost to ads i don't care for. YT existed before they put ads on videos. And it didn'T go bancrupt then...
I also have been doing this, probably over two years now. The ad agents or those responsible for putting up these time wasting ads are doing themselves an injustice, the more they do it the less likely anyone will pay attention, let alone buy their product.
I find it extremely annoying when there are ads during a LIVE. When I'm listening to someone speak, I WANT TO HEAR WHAT HE SAYS! I don't want to miss anything.
Even the news broadcasts about the hurricanes and tornados in Florida are littered with ads EVERY 4 MINUTES!!! It's uncalled for, and could [potentially] get someone killed...
That’s exactly what I’ve been doing with every video I’ve watched on RUclips for the last couple of years, it’s tedious but I’m stubborn and refuse to do anything forced upon me.
@@HUNT3R737 BTW, I finally switched to Brave and its built-in ad-blocking makes me feel REBORN! I can finally breathe without the annoying ads and the "Disable your ad-blocker now!" threats. 🤗😘👍
Indeed, I did that whenever I find the ad is more than 10 secs, or being forced to see an ad with no countdown. Advertisers needs to know it is useless doing more than 10 seconds on youtube. Viewers skip them.
Eventually RUclips will be like television where there is 3 minutes of ads. Their greed is huge, they don’t care about the people consuming their content they just care about $$$
I'm with you, I will stop watching a video if it has too many ads, or they are too long, and here's thing I never look at pop up ads either. I watch what I want to look at.
Yeah, i have dine this too on my tv when i got angry that the ads were a minute long and i realized it kept getting shorter until it was skippable in 5 seconds
I usually use a variant of this but will try it. My favorite part is getting a 30 second ad in front of a 45 second video. That's awesome. I also like getting ads in the middle of music videos...
Really it was that MTV stopped being about music. The ads didn't help. But it became a reality show channel which is of zero interest to those of us who went there for music.
This is exactly what I've been doing for about 1 year with my smart TV and phone app. Works like a charm, but it does occasionally cause my cheap smart TV to freeze if I use this trick to skip ads on multiple different videos without closing and reopening the RUclips app first
That message pops up yet there is still an advert every 6 minutes. SIX MINUTES. SIX FUCKING MINUTES. 10 adverts per hour. What a joke. I'm this close to never using RUclips ever again.
A couple of days ago, a whole podcast came up in the middle of something I was watching-- a WHOLE podcast !! And businesses are starting to play 90 second ads ! And something I wish RUclips would do is play the ads in between whatever you're watching, especially music. In short, I will definitely try your method.
Thanks for advice! What I used to do is turn on and off the video till it’s a short add that I can skip after 5 seconds, then close video, open the video again and close it when the add comes and then open the video again and the second add would be be gone. That’s how I would watch the first add but them be able to skip the second add. Adds really ruined RUclips. It’s just too much
Another shitty thing they do is if you don’t press the skip button on the first ad, and then the next add comes on, you can’t skip that without waiting for the initial 5 seconds to lapse.
@@captainmoretokin2172 Actually, as far as I'm aware something like this does happen, the advertisers are able to find out in their impressions reporting that the ad they paid for was not displayed.
A similar thing happened to me, i was listening to a discussion then it started an ad, the ad was an interview about something i don't care and it was 20 minutes, i've never seen a 20 minute ad.
They do that type of thing a lot. If you don’t skip an ad you are able to skip the system assumes you aren’t paying attention and it will start feeding super long ads. It’s how they get paid for nothing.
I do the “press back & then play again” on my Samsung tv too. Each video gets 3 attempts, if after the third time I still get a 20 second advert, I don’t watch the video and move onto something else.
Works for me, I discovered this trick myself. Does not always work but most times on the Panasonic TV. I often click away from a u tube video if there is a long advert to endure before you can start watching
I never get the moral high-ground part with some people with them thinking, "If you aren't paying (essentially looking at ads) then you're mooching off the site" even though it's already pretty clear that: 1. RUclips ads themselves have already been confirmed to have malware in them, cause RUclips doesn't check the validity of these ads and don't seem to care what kinds they show you, so all it takes is one accidental click and you could be infected and you have to go through the hassle of trying to remove it assuming you know how too and RUclips definitely isn't going to take responsibility on that front. 2. The ads are just getting out of hand, they're everywhere, in videos, on your homepage (so much so that i have to make sure I'm not clicking on one), on your searches, etc. again it's a literal ticking-time-b*mb on when you will click on one of these. 3. It's slowing down the site a lot and because of these guys having to try to and block all the ad-blockers and what not, it seems like the sites quality has dipped, a lot of the time I come to RUclips now, I notice that at points some videos/thumbnails are having trouble loading so you just see black boxes or having to wait for the video itself to load as well, which is very annoying. 4. They're very intrusive to the viewing experience, people complain like we're having the greatest time without using ad-blockers when in reality it's a freaking nightmare to watch anything, it's gotten so bad that, once those those people that either complained about the "moochers" or just someone that just stopped using their ad-blockers for the first time realize what a atrocious experience it is without the ad-blockers, they just end up buying RUclips premium to get rid of them. 5. And speaking of RUclips premium, I also been hearing even with that, they're still showing those customers ads which is just plain disgusting and after all this effort to try to get everyone just to pay for premium and they aren't even giving you the major benefits of it.
Wow...very insightful and educational!!!🥰 1. I really didn't know this. 3. Experienced the same thing in Chrome, moved to Modzilla. 3. Yup, uaually banner type ones...I don't want to see ANY, if I pay for it 😀
If you youtube can't make revenue, they can't continue providing service. People like me won't get paid, and we won't make you content. Make your list of who's it's and what's it's, but you're here because you like watching videos. This will dry up...ALL of it...if the revenue can't be made. There are no free lunches.
@@johnandrews9433No need to be a dick, Mr. Privileged. In all likelihood you haven't done anything to deserve what you have and under other circumstances would be destitute.
@@johnandrews9433 dude, I’m poor, I have premium. It’s not about being poor, it’s just logical: if the creators I subscribe to don’t get paid, I won’t get videos. There are no free lunches.

There is a special place in hell for the people who work and run RUclips and Google...
Brave alone doesn't stop the ads. You need a few things to be completely good, but Sponsor Block will do the heavy lifting on the most recent attempt by SpewTube to force their brainwashing.
If you can't jailbreak or sideload your Smart TV, you can watch the video in an alternative ad-free YT client on a mobile device and then cast the video to your TV.
I've been doing the same thing for about a year and a half. Can't believe someone would be stupid enough to make a video about it. Now everyone knows RUclips will for sure fix that within the next month and stop it working. Thanks for that.
Iv done this for ages, although the last month or two on my TV what happens now is it takes me back to a refreshed homepage. I'd still rather go into library and start from scratch than be forced to watch obnoxious ads.
This is interesting. I watch RUclips almost exclusively on my laptop. When I get super long ads, I've hit reload on my browser after 5 seconds and, almost without fail, it gets me back to the video. I suspect what you do with your TV is essentially doing the same thing. Nice!
WHEN ON THE COMPUTER, I will CTRL+R (Refresh) when I detect an AD and the video starts over. There are a few things you have to be watching closely at first, and one is paying attention to the length of the video time at the bottom-left.
Yep I have been doing this for a long time works very well. You can also do this in the middle of the the video you're watching. The only difference is you have to go back to your library and watch the video from there. When a commercial pops up in the middle of the video just hit your back button then enter button, back button, then enter button after the second or third time you will be right back at your video without watching the commercial. I know I'm tired of watching the same damn commercials Time After Time After Time After Time After Time After Time After Time After Time
works on all youtube apps on TVs, been using this method on my chromecast from 2020 for years and its not yet failed to either skip the ads or provide a 5 second skippable
There are ways and means to bypass their adds so they simply don't appear. RUclips of course are not Robinson Crusoe in this. Advertising has got completely out of control. I don't know about other countries but the amount of advertising in Australia used to be regulated. Not any more with the result that the most viewed television channel devotes 48% of on air time to advertising. Needless to say, I never watch that channel.
Found this trick on my own. My wife always says I'm crazy for doing it that I'm not saving any time. But I ain't waiting a whole minute for a 3 minute video. Also, since youtube remembers where you left off, you can always press back and then click the video to continue watching. It is very tedious in 10 hour long videos
OMG dude :D :D My girlfriend told me the same thing for months, but today, after I mentioned this video was taking off, She has used it the whole day :D ( I said nothing to her... just smirked and did the friendly nod meme :D )
I stop the video then restart, works almost every time. Make it a policy to never watch a 20 sec ad or two in a row also works.I think I trained the algorithm because I only get very few ads.Or maybe the content I'm watching isn't interesting for RUclips paying advertiser.😊
.... as soon as an ad appears click the next RUclips video, As soon as the next video starts .... click the back button on your browser... takes a few seconds but no ad (you sometimes have to scroll forward to where you stopped watching the video ...but its usually easy to quickly scroll forward etc 😊 Works a treat to get rid of the first ads at the start of a video 🙂
This works for short videos. But what about 3, 1 minute long, unskippable ads in the middle of a long video? You either press back and back out of the video entirely, or you just deal with the ads.
Just select another video and go back to the video you were watching before. For me, this usually works for long video and also under 1 minute. But if the channel owner puts a lot of ads, then you can only repeat the action.😅 Edit: I forgot you didn't say what your device was. I use laptop, computer, phone and it's work
I think only 1 out of 200 ads I see interest me in the slightest. All of these people making ads for worthless products or scams and wasting time and money is mind blowing.
I've been literally doing this for years. It genuinely saves u many... many frustrating seconds. However, I didn't realize no one else knew this. I didn't realize i could have been a hero.
Extra tip: to prevent the video from going back to the beginning after you've cut out the ad using the remote control, you need to restart the video from the "history". In this case, there will be no additional ads, and the video will pick up where you left off.
I’ve been doing this for a while. If your on your mobile and not using the app you can just refresh the page and it will skip. I learned this after one of the adds was 30+ minute long episode of a show being promoted on tv.
Same, and as a content provider even if I turn off monetization on my video RUclips will still play an ad. I like to release videos with no monetization for the first week so those who hit the notification bell and watch my video right away can avoid ads but that isn't the case so much anymore
I remember when content creators could do that, or choose how many and when ads came up. But not any more. I listen to documentaries/podcasts while I am doing pattern design and sewing, and it is extremely frustrating when I have to stop what I am doing to first skip an ad. Most of the videos are about 40-50 minutes. I can deal with about 3 ads, but when they literally pop up every 3 minutes (I kid you not) I exit after the 4th one, regardless of how much I wanted to listen. And a new one - as if being bombarded with ads is not enough, some content creators insert sponsored content as well, sometimes more than one product, by the time they are finished I have forgotten what the video was about. No matter how much I want to listen to it, I am not even watching them.
Back works. But just always canceling the video sends a better message. I will never watch ANY video... almost... if it exceeds 10 seconds. You know they keep metrics. Let it catch on. Make a video to advertisers telling them you won't watch to play.
Thanks for the strategy. YT thinks by making us watch more ads we will cave in and pay a monthly sub The issues I have with YT about this: They still manage to hit you with ads And the worst issue All these interruptions are not healthy for our cognition- makes us more anxious, more hyper, less able to focus and less able to hold a thought or complete important mental tasks.
Yes! Thank you friend! I even skip entire videos that I wanted to watch now because they make me wait a full minute before the video, and I have to take a deep breath to calm down. It's crazy, BUT YOU'RE NOT SIR!
I've been using the click back, click forward method on a computer to skip ads on RUclips with success, until today. RUclips is now wise to this trick!
Thank you. I watch less RUclips because of ads, I go watch or listen to music on my NAS instead. The 60 seconds are stupid. I mute the tv if ads show up, so I refuse to watch but yeah annoying as heck, it's ruined the platform.
I’ve been doing this for the last year now! And it does work. I’m sick to death of 50 seconds of ads only to find when the video starts it’s not what I’m looking for!!😡 I find myself only using RUclips now if I really need to know something! And who ever watches an ad and thinks im going to buy that, not me that’s for sure, they just really annoy me!! Idiots 😂
I created my own software for all my devices like Adblock I’ve been doing this since 2019 and I don’t see ads anymore !!these adblocks don’t always work especially on your mobile device if you have the know-how you can create your own adblock and it’s not illegal
An even easier way to avoid all ads, if you're watching on a computer and don't mind the resolution of the video being a bit rubbish, is to zoom your browser screen so one thumbnail fits nearly the entire screen. Then hold your mouse over the preview thumbnail and watch completely ad free
It's the same with your phone. They'll run the video while you're scrolling and looking for something to watch, so I just watch it on a smaller scale with no ads.
I haven't watched an ad on youtube (or in my browser) for like 10 years now. 15 maybe? Ever since firefox was released. Any web page with an ad is confusing... I see screenshots of peoples browsers on reddit posts and for a few seconds I read the ad thinking why are they showing me this.. then realise they're showing me something else and the ad just happens to be part of their usual experience. It must be terrible for people trying to browse the internet on a non-ad blocking browser :
I'm old and don't have patience for the ads I've been doing what you're talking about for quite awhile, but I still move on from a video when the host goes into trying to sell something, when they're just a few minutes into their video, and I get tired of clicking the back button, so I'm pretty much back to just moving on to another video every time an ad comes on, and yeah just recently the ads have been more than ever, long ones, click next and goes to another one, it's freaking terrible, but I refuse to watch them.
Exactly! Parience is also not my virtue 😀 And It's also unfair for the creator too to be "clicked off" due to RUclipss tortureous ad policy 😀 I have done the same. Thank You for the comment too 🥰
I regularly get served a 10 minute ad about the iPhone, a 35 minute ad about visiting some Middle East country and a 45 minute ad showing me people playing poker.
I just pay for RUclips premium now. Well worth it, as it's been one of my main sources of entertainment for years now anyway. No ads, higher quality, downloads to watch later. The price of two pints of beer a month in London.
50 second ad? Ive seen "ads" that lasted equal to or greater than the content creator's work. In some cases for over 1 solid hour (ad 1 of 2). RUclips, Google and Alphabet are willing to lose creators for just being an ad platform, it seems.
Allow ads to keep youtube (FREE) worldwide - they mean More-Free-ADS everywhere not ( FREE ) sadly that a lie when russia can't access it meaning if they not paying for Ads because they in war
Lol do the exact same thing. My wife hates it. I was seriously considering getting RUclips premium, then they upped the price. Upping the price and increasing the ads to this ridiculous degree is a surefire way to get people to not buy premium.
I do the same. And when I can't skip an Ad ,I come out of the video and start seeing it from where the ad started or I mute the ad..just a note to the advertisers.
I notice when I watch yotube on my TV vs my phone is that on my TV I see many more ads than on my phone, which is also way too many. One day Y T will be replaced by something superior without an agenda and doesn't censor speech. I dream
Are you outta your mind??? Why would you pay them to delete ads that never existed 5 years ago... So Google (YouBoob's parent) is making EVEN MORE money from this scam... They're becoming trillionaires with their feet kicked up, drinking fat-cat martinis, screwing the finest call girls, and smoking super-crack all day...
I’ve been doing this for over 10 years to avoid adds there will always be someone else in this world that has already done this before others have done it
Wow...Amazing traction for this video...I can't believe that there are so many like-minded individuals 😇😊😊😊 I will read every comment! Promise!

Everybody stopped watching TV because there were too many commercials. The internet is now TV with too many commercials again.
I never started watching TV because it's all garbage.
And theren there's cable, afaik people moved to Netflix because you can watch all the videos they have there without ads and now they're attempting to add some ads somewhere.
Now I pay a monthly subscription for TV streaming and still get served adverts. The only way is down😢
What gets me is when the vids can't load (buffering etc.) but the ad loads without a problem.

You don’t have to even watch for 5 seconds.
Pause the ad. Count 5 seconds and go back and restart the video. It will play the video. You still take 5 seconds but only see 1 second of the ad.
@@RaggedyHobo wow, I'll try this 🥰🥰😇

RUclips has reached the point where if its a short video and it starts with an ad, I skip the video altogether to not watch an ad. It feels too much work.
I've had ads that were longer than the video.
Yep.
This. Also applies if I only want to watch a small portion of a video.
If the topic of the video really appeals to you, zap off the ad, scroll down to Library on the left, click on your choice again. If they start with an ad once more, repeat. I’ve found sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t.
U-block origin on computer browser. i tried RUclips on my phone recently... damn... unusable... its all ads.

The funniest thing is people are mostly immune to ads and rarely buy anything because it was advertised.
Nowadays you should use replay to watch TV and never watch live, when ads start just press Fast Forward.

This works. Sometimes you have to start the video over but most of the time this works. I've been doing it for two months.
I did that but then they hit you with a full minute, they add up and punish you
I have found that too. You can't skip the add and they give you two full adverts to make up for it
I don't buy any products from RUclips ads. Any ad is add to my blacklist
I think I've been doing the same, though unintentionally. Now I'll do it purposefully thanks to your great suggestion.
Same. I intentionally avoid products/promotions I see in YT ads. They are wasting their money and my time pushing these in my face.
Actually the advert companies are working for the google. They are not even trying to sell the product in the ads, but forcing people to buy yt premium

Sick and tired of YT. I do not watch, hear, see, listen, or notice ads. Mute, & skip whenever possible.
I do exactly what you do.

YT existed before they put ads on videos. And it didn'T go bancrupt then...
Also spotify makes this. Musics at low volume but ads are brain damaging
I also have been doing this, probably over two years now. The ad agents or those responsible for putting up these time wasting ads are doing themselves an injustice, the more they do it the less likely anyone will pay attention, let alone buy their product.

Really it was that MTV stopped being about music. The ads didn't help. But it became a reality show channel which is of zero interest to those of us who went there for music.
Shit music destroyed MTV after the 80's and first three years of the nineties. Then it all took a dump.
This is exactly what I've been doing for about 1 year with my smart TV and phone app.
Works like a charm, but it does occasionally cause my cheap smart TV to freeze if I use this trick to skip ads on multiple different videos without closing and reopening the RUclips app first

I never get the moral high-ground part with some people with them thinking, "If you aren't paying (essentially looking at ads) then you're mooching off the site" even though it's already pretty clear that:

This is interesting. I watch RUclips almost exclusively on my laptop. When I get super long ads, I've hit reload on my browser after 5 seconds and, almost without fail, it gets me back to the video. I suspect what you do with your TV is essentially doing the same thing. Nice!
@@MrCarefulGamer Yes, exactly the same! Does your video start from the top, after midroll, or continue where you left off after refresh?
MS Edge has to be the biggest offender. It's just a continuous bombardment.
I don't know why, but RUclips is showing porn game ads for about one year.
I bet they interrupt infomercials to make you watch ads!!

But if the channel owner puts a lot of ads, then you can only repeat the action.😅
Edit: I forgot you didn't say what your device was.
SmartTube. Trust me. Haven't seen and ad in years. Install on your Fire or Google device
Been using this method for quite a while now. Can verify that this works.
Good to hear!
An even stronger action is to completely leave the youtube platform, then come back to it. But that becomes a hassle.
@@markgibson7123 That's great info. I wasn't aware of that. And thanks for commenting :)
You are correct in that when the ads are too frequent or too long I don't watch You Tube.
Thanks for the strategy.
YT thinks by making us watch more ads we will cave in and pay a monthly sub
The issues I have with YT about this:
They still manage to hit you with ads
And the worst issue
All these interruptions are not healthy for our cognition- makes us more anxious, more hyper, less able to focus and less able to hold a thought or complete important mental tasks.
Brother, I figured that out like 2 years ago...works like a charm...
YES! It's NOT just my imagination! I haven't tried your method yet, but THANK YOU for pointing out RUclips "Ad Creep"!
Great - thank for ratting us out to youtube and giving them another loop to close. 🤬
@Spreadie damn 😀 I didn't think that far...Good news is that my videos don't get any views, so it woun't get picked up 😀 All good!
@@SillyLlamaz ... it is getting picked up
Thanks I agree with the short attention span and moderation in everything we do
Big gob he is
I've often run across videos where the forced advertising is longer than the actual video. RUclips is screwed by their rampant greed
When the video starts with an add, click the "next video" button and immediately go back again and the video will start without ads.
I'm going to try this. If it doesn't work I want my money back.😁
If youtube goes on like this we will get to the point where the ads will be interrupted by a short portion of the video…
😂
🤣
YT is well on its way of being a RELIC and AVOIDED by all!!!
Been doing this for the last few years.
Glad that I’m not the only one doing this too.
Wow...awesome dude!!
Oooo yes! It's horrible on samsung tv...no way to block. Pc I use ad-blocks also like 10 years allteady
Watching an average video, i totally quit, if ads appear.
So I only tolerate ads in really well made and very interesting videos.
50 second ad? Ive seen "ads" that lasted equal to or greater than the content creator's work. In some cases for over 1 solid hour (ad 1 of 2). RUclips, Google and Alphabet are willing to lose creators for just being an ad platform, it seems.
Allow ads to keep youtube (FREE) worldwide - they mean More-Free-ADS everywhere not ( FREE )
sadly that a lie when russia can't access it meaning if they not paying for Ads because they in war
Lol do the exact same thing. My wife hates it. I was seriously considering getting RUclips premium, then they upped the price. Upping the price and increasing the ads to this ridiculous degree is a surefire way to get people to not buy premium.
She loves ads? 😀
@SillyLlamaz I think she hates my lack of patience and the flashing screen lol
@GruntBurger yeah, My gf had the same issue with me 😀 I told her "i dont care i have time, I flash foreve when needed "😀 But now I got premium trial
Been doing this on my fire tv stick for a couple of years now, it does indeed work......
I do the same. And when I can't skip an Ad ,I come out of the video and start seeing it from where the ad started or I mute the ad..just a note to the advertisers.
On popular channels this doesn't work. They will continue to play a ad on every reset. Also this method is incredibly frustrating to me.
I notice when I watch yotube on my TV vs my phone is that on my TV I see many more ads than on my phone, which is also way too many. One day Y T will be replaced by something superior without an agenda and doesn't censor speech. I dream
I am paying $13.99 per month for RUclips premium to not watch advertisements. Is that what everyone else is paying?
Are you outta your mind??? Why would you pay them to delete ads that never existed 5 years ago... So Google (YouBoob's parent) is making EVEN MORE money from this scam... They're becoming trillionaires with their feet kicked up, drinking fat-cat martinis, screwing the finest call girls, and smoking super-crack all day...
At last someone who shares my feelings on this problem.
I’ve been doing this for over 10 years to avoid adds there will always be someone else in this world that has already done this before others have done it
