Good for you Stephen, I was lucky. When I turned 67 I just happened to stumble on Hinduism and Iskcon. Today, at age 69 I am liberated completely because I let go and chant the Mahamantra Hare Krshna, Hare Krshna, Krshna Krshna. Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. Need I say more.? No struggle no pain it just happened.

    Hare Krishna!!
Whenever I see this kind of video, it makes feel proud to be Hindu and Indian. As westerns are coming to know the deep truth and reality! But it is really a thing to worry that due to so called secularism vedik culture is declining. Humble request to all who care for the culture, to take it into account. And to preserve it for the next generation.
    Hair om!

Sadly your sentiments are what I hear other ethnic Hindus express. Sanata Dharma will survive! The young who now reject it will come back to their own and with a vengeance. Once they see that the western material world has nothing to offer but emptiness and despair and that the self is going to eventually reconnect with God they will return needing Sanata Dharma.

Born a Hindu I was not really at home with Hinduism. I joke with my family that I surely was not a Hindu in my previous Janma (incarnation) Oh I had read the Bhagavad Geetha but was not impressed. But at age 40 I read the Upanishads and I was stunned! I found the answers I was looking for! I finally came back home to Hinduism.

You're absolutely correct sir. Hinduism is truly wise in advising a practitioner to make their own path to the Divine. This is what makes Hinduism a truly secular religion, not just in word but in spirit. Hinduism is full of advise but no rules really.

Its quite nice to know people outside India also do opt for hinduism at times.
Whilst in london I have been mocked by Christians of white , black and arab race about Hinduism and India. CONSTANTLY!
This despite I am half Hindu Half Christian of Indian Goan origin ...and us celebrating Jesus moreso than any other.
The Muslims, I can understand , their hatred to any religion that is not their own is immense, but it was so disheartening to see Christians also taking the piss!

you will be suprised to know every family member is free to choose different path ..even my father worships kali, mom durga, grandmom durga, brother hanuman, me shiva and sis vishnu...this is very common in hindu family and never ever we fight for deities as hinduism says all are one with different manifestation and hence different duties..it is upto you which characterstics of a deity you like and start worshiping him/her..it is like different profs in college but your mentor is special..

Start with Geeta, but make a Guru to guide you through your life. Live a happy and full life and enjoy the vast and deep knoweldge of Hinduism without any dogma and preconcieved ideas. First make your mind and soul free from all that you have collected, this is not easy ,but a good guru can lead you how to do that. After getting rid of the accumulated old ideas and karma, you will be very free to select your own path out of the various paths/panthas offered by the Hinduism. Good luck to you.

SANATAN DHARAM Hindusim is not a religion. It is a way of spiritual living in a divine quality like yoga, meditation, worship of nature or planets etc to sustain ecological balance in the ecosystem.
In short SANATAN DHARAM Hindusim is the oldest scientific culture and traditions.
But REMEMBER MY DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS RELIGIONS ARE THOSE WHICH ARE MAN MADE PRINCIPLES OR lAWS where there is blind beliefs or law's.
To those who belongs to SANATAN DHARAM Hindusim just feel proud that you are on the right eternal original path or ways to spirituality.
( In Sanskrit the oldest scientific language, (vasudevaye khutumkam) means the whole world is one family= SANATAN DHARAM Hindusim...

Karma & Rebirth means that we enjoy the Gift of Life, over & over again!
Karma & Rebirth means there is no place for a Hell, no sadistic God running a torture chamber
Karma & Rebirth means that We EARN everything. One must never beg nor take anything that is unearned
Karma & Rebirth means we earn Praise FROM God! Anyone fool can praise God, but Blessed are those that aim to earn Praise FROM God!

Sanskrit most ancient, scientific, and spiritual writing on the planet its literally the mother tongue of all languages ..English itself derives most of its words from sanskri...The vedas are the most perplexinating words you can read..Hinduism is definitely a religion suitable for the exponential perplexinations of the universe itself ..for example the bible isn't the words of god ..it doesn't explain things on other planets/realms but the vedas however another story its soo hard to understand

perfect, crisp , short and to the point(on what is hindusim) ....btw word hindu was only derived and hinduism is not any religion while it is a way of life through non-violence and you know it i read it in one of your article... And i like the definition of god how you mentioned while comparing god with jesus christ and yeah how can god be jealous? that's perfect.. And btw swamyji some of the international media has started to distort facts of hindu scriptures(jesus found in hindu scriptures).... i wish you could inspire the indian community too who are now tending to cater the west culture most of them don't know their own history here due to that manipulation of actual indian history and vedic knowledge... effects of dark ages?

Both Old Testament God and Islamic God are very judgy, angry, punishy, jealous and insecure, with not much love and personal connection. However Hinduism is a large umbrella under which many sects reside. The wealth and depth of spiritual wisdom is indeed immense and profound. That's why a Guru can be helpful to navigate.
