Nicki is not playing y’all. Giuseppe what’s good?!
Yesterday Nicki Minaj went on a Twitter rant directly aimed at Italian shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti. Nicki explains in the rant that she feels disrespected and even goes on to call the act racist.
She says in the first tweet of the rant “This is wonderful. #GiuseppeZanotti seems to think it's ok to name his sneakers after me but his PR says they won't take our call. Lol.”
“I met #GiuseppeZanotti years ago. At which time, he told me I inspired him to design a sneaker in my honor. Wore them on the cover of Cosmo”
“Recently when he gave other artists capsule collections, my agency reached out and was told they're not taking our call. “
As Nicki got more and more fed up, she then enlisted the help of her fans to go after the brand. She tweeted, “#RunMeMyCHECK #GiuseppeWhatsGood I got time today. barbz trend this cuz he gon learn today. The racism & disrespect won't b tolerated.”
WOOOP. Let em’ know Nicki. At one point #GiuseppeWhatsGood was trending worldwide and fans were going in. Some people were confused why she was so upset about one pair of sneakers that he was inspired to design. She then let people know it’s not about one sneaker, but 23 sneakers named Nicki on his website. “This isn't a sneaker. Zanotti spoke to me on the first sneaker. But 23 pairs of sneakers later & u still don't wanna break bread?!?! yikes” She also went on to clarify that it’s not about the money, but the disrespect and the fact that he’s not taking her calls. All shoes named Nicki have been removed from the site, and she said that’s a start. She also said they could donate a portion of the proceeds they are getting to a St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and she would match up to half a million dollars. Well this a PR nightmare for the high-end shoe brand, but at least Nicki is trying to get some money for charity. Did she have a contract or collab with Zanotti? Because if she doesn't, she's just running her stupid mouth again and using the word of the decade "racist" to defame and cause damage on a brand.
