  • I had the opportunity to spend a day with the tribes of Dima Hasao District in Assam during my stay in Haflong. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. We started the day by visiting a traditional household of the Beite tribe where we were introduced to their way of life and customs. I was fascinated to learn about their traditions and how they have been preserved over generations.
Their are numerous tribal villages such as Moulhoi, Fiangpui, Songpijang, Dibarai, and their unique cultures. Later in the day, we visited a friend from the Dimasa tribe who showed us their traditional weaving and rice wine making techniques. The rice wine was delightful, and I couldn't help but admire their intricate weaving patterns.
It was a privilege to spend the day with the tribal people and learn about their way of life. The warmth and hospitality of my tribal friends were overwhelming, and I was left with a profound respect for their culture and traditions. I felt fortunate to have experienced a glimpse of their lives and to have gained a better understanding of the rich cultural heritage of the Dima Hasao District
