So many ford fans are chomping at the bit to get their hands on a fully electric bronco. And if you're one of those folks, today you can finally learn just how far away these new electric SUVs really are. With recent news around ford's new ev plant, Blue Oval City, we can finally definitively say how far out both an electric Bronco and an Electric Ranger could be.
AutoForecast Solutions indicated that the Ford Ranger electric is expected to launch in 2029, and will enter production in early August of that same year. Production of the EV pickup is then expected to run through July 2037 at the massive, all-new BlueOval City complex in Tennessee. This facility is also expected to be responsible for production of the the next-generation Ford F-150 Lightning, along with the forthcoming Ford Bronco electric, which is expected before the end of the decade. It’s highly likely that all three of the aforementioned vehicles will be underpinned by the automaker’s all-electric TE1 platform.

I currently own a 2021 F150 PowerBoost that is Electric and Gas. I run on battery until the engine is needed, it really is the best of both worlds. I just ordered my F150 Lightning and plan on trading my hybrid in.

I just got my lightning on Dec 5th. Be aware in colder weather you lose significant range. It's not a problem for me because when I do drive it, I seldom drive more than 50 miles. I love my lightning mostly because I just plug it in, and it's always ready to go whenever I need it. No more waiting in line at the gas stations. People who go on road trips or tow long distance this isn't the truck for them.

Its already too heavy.... LFP would make that worse. But perhaps the longer service life is worth it.

Ev's are suitable for urban dwellers. An electric SUV is an oxymoron.

      Oxymoron? Ok.
Electric SUV certainly makes sense in most applications.
You start every day with a full 'tank' of electrons. Extremely convenient.
