TWO-STATE DOMICILE OPTION SIMPLIFIED
IN THE CONTEXT OF ACADEMICS-
RULE1:
A DOMICILE CERTIFICATE IS VALID WHEN A STUDENT IS BORN IN THE STATE AND HAS DONE HIS/HER ACADEMICS AT THE
HOME STATE FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS OR 12 YEARS- MOSTLY WESTERN & SOUTH INDIAN STATES.
RULE2:
A DOMICILE CERTIFICATE IS VALID WHEN A STUDENT IS BORN IN THE STATE AND HAS PROPERTY BUT ACADEMICS DONE FROM
OUTSIDE THE STATE- MOSTLY NORTH INDIAN STATES.
RULE3:
A DOMICILE CERTIFICATE IS VALID WHEN A STUDENT IS NOT BORN IN THE STATE AND DOESN'T HAVE ANY PROPERTY BUT ACADEMICS DONE FROM
THE PARTICULAR STATE AT LEAST 11th & 12th- MOSTLY THE NORTH INDIAN STATES.
EXCEPTIONAL STATE RULE:
A STUDENT BORN IN DELHI NCT HAVING PROPERTY ALSO BUT STUDIED TILL 10th AND DID 12th FROM ANY OTHER STATE IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE DELHI STATE DOMICILE. ON THE
OTHER HAND STUDENTS NOT BORN IN DELHI NEITHER STUDIED TILL 10th WILL BE ELIGIBLE IF S/HE HAS DONE 12th FROM DELHI NCT SCHOOL.
CENTRAL GOV EMPLOYEE DOMICILE:
A DOMICILE CERTIFICATE IS VALID WHEN A STUDENT'S PARENT/S IS A CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE OR STATE EMPLOYEE DEPLOYED BY THE CENTRE AND WORKED FOR MINIMUM
THREE YEARS AND THEIR WARD HAS STUDIED DURING THAT PERIOD IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE EMPLOYEE.
CONCLUDING WE CAN SAY -
1. THERE IS NO OFFICIAL INFORMATION ON THE 2 STATE DOMICILE OPTIONS
2. STATE-BASED NORMS WILL BE DECIDING YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF CANDIDATURE
3. MAJOR STATES WHERE YOU CAN'T EXERCISE TWO DOMICILE OPTIONS- RAJASTHAN, PUNJAB, MP, CHHATISGARH, MAHARASHTRA, GUJARAT,
ALL OVER THE SOUTH INDIAN STATES, WEST BENGAL, ODISHA.

Sir mera birth Maharashtra ka hai aur hamara domicile bhi Maharashtra hai pr mere father job ke liye bahot salo se Chattisgarh me hai aur mera 10 n 12th wahi se huwa hai to kya mujhe Chhattisgarh me category ke liye reservation mil sakta hai kya.
My son will appear in neet exam in neet exam in 2027 right now he is studying in uttar pradesh but 11 and 12 hi will do from Karnataka. And I did my BDS from Karnataka 2001-2006. And did another 3 year degre course between 2022-2025 now is my son eligible under Karnataka kota

In the form I have filled my Domicile state as Delhi as I got to know that if we have done our 10th and 12th from Delhi, we can consider Delhi as our domicile state but I have the permanent address of Rajasthan. You can take delhi your Domicile state you will not be eligible for Rajasthan domicile since your 10th and 12th is from delhi.

As per my knowledge You are not eligible for any state as Domicile as per your academic criteria Bcoz WB ask 10th and 12th Both thier RULE 2B is no more in existence now, Maharashtra ask 10th and 12th along with proof of property not less then 15 year and Rajasthan 10th and 12th both with residence of LIVING minimum 6 yr. So here you are not eligible for any state domicile.
