I worked in an Elementary School Cafeteria in California when my kids were in school. It was perfect, got me out of the house, I earned some money and when my kids were home so was I. I LOVED IT!! I adored the children! I hate it that so many people look down on the lunch Ladies, it’s hard work !!!
It’s hard work. I substitute teach now that I am retired and all of the cafeteria workers I have met greet the children by name within the first weeks of school, move the lines smoothly and then wash all those trays. Amazing, kind dedicated folk. Oh, and they keep iced tea and treats for teachers.
I absolutely agree. I worked for our school districts traveling summer program. Bringing coolers full of meals to different sites. A gentleman tried to let me go 1st in line & I wouldn't. The cashier said NO she's ok she is the lunch lady & I was proud
I am a lunch lady at my first shift job at a middle school. When I get off work at 2 or 2:30 I drive a couple blocks to my 2nd job. I am a custodian at an elementary school. I love both jobs. It's hard work but I love being around the children! They make my day! ❤🎉😊
It's so cool how everyone follows Nate now from all over the world! I'm from a different state away from Idaho,......Ohio! I love the UK.... ❤ It's awesome
As a former cafeteria worker! Kudos to you Nate! Those ladies get up real early to cook & care for kiddos and it’s one of the lowest paying jobs! You can make more at a fast food place. I find that so sad!
As a kid I worked in the school cafeteria (kids worked serving at the window). It was an elective class. You worked both lunches and ate your own lunch between the two lunch periods. I loved it. We got .50¢ free food each day and though be got paid, I forgot how much. It was below minimum wage of that time. I saved it all and bought my first ten speed....back then, that equaled freedom. Fun times. ...and it was the best to be able pick your own food.....YUMMY. They had great food back then....all made fresh from scratch in the cafeteria!!!!
when I was in college I served lunch to kids at an area high school. It was the perfect hours that fit my needs at the time. Loved it, and miss those days.
I read the kitchen reviews (cleanliness, safety, etc) of the restaurants, school cafeterias, airport restaurants, etc, in my part of the county. They list every infraction, big and small. After they list those, they list which places got perfect scores. ALL of the schools make the perfect-score list. Those employees work very hard! (And it's scary to read the unsanitary conditions in some of our local eateries!)
I absolutely know what it takes!! I have been a "lunch lady" for 12 years now in the Cincinnati, OH area and I LOVE it!! You did great Nate as did the ladies!! We have to feed those babies!! Sometimes that meal and your smile are the only ones they see that day!! Bless all my fellow lunch ladies and men!!
@@christinawelsh3417 Hi and Thank you!! I am actually in one of the suburbs now. Lived in Clifton for 10 years and now in the Milford/Loveland area. Right on the line. I work for Milford schools. I live about 15ish minutes from Kings Island.
Oh my, the aroma of homemade yeast rolls drifting through the hallway in the class period before lunch! They had government peanut butter in some form every day - pb cookie, pb on apples, pb and hone in a dixie cup with a slice of bread or those yeast rolls, pb with veg sticks. No mystery meats but whole pieces of chicken. No one brought a sack lunch and no one went from the line to the trash can like kids do today.
@@bettyir4302I ABSOLUTELY agree. Taking nothing from these hard working ladies & Nate because they don't set the menus! Back then we had real food that got us through the day! ❤ I remember eating every bit. My mother helped in the cafeteria too. All the food was delicious and cooked from scratch! We would race to eat! Now my kids come home starving because they served nasty food!!! It's true! What options for vegetarian kids I wonder? I was vegetarian by choice at 12.... I was terrified of chemicals put in meat back then. Now it's really not even meat! It's grown from stem cells sadly.... 😢
I always love the lunch ladies at my elementary school and later HS they were so sweet and humble I knew them by their names and back then we had really good food.
Sad that so many look down on us as lunch ladies same with bus drivers my husband said he’s treated like crap and looked down on. Yet without us kids are hungry and don’t get to and from school people need to be grateful
This brings back memories. When I was in 7th and 8th grade if our study hall period was at time the lunch was being served, we could be servers in the lunch room. It was so much fun. I'm convinced I gained all my weight eating the French fries....lol. This was in like 1973 and '74. Don't think students are allowed to do that these days.

Our kids love the lunch ladies
My husband has taught 6th grade for 42 years. The highlight of his week is serving the kids lunch on Fridays. ❤
My daughter works in a school cafeteria and she loves it
Good job Nate. Thanks to all people who watch out for our children 🙏❤️
Nate that was Awesome to watch you did a good job . Also I give a lot of credit to the lunch 🍝🥗🍱people for feeding are kids good meals. Thank you. 👍
Never thought we'd see Nate as a dinner lady as we call such workers in the UK. 🙂
It's so cool how everyone follows Nate now from all over the world! I'm from a different state away from Idaho,......Ohio! I love the UK.... ❤ It's awesome
@@christinawelsh3417 I'm also in the UK, and the last few years I have watched the Christmas segments every year. I so enjoy them!

As a lunch lady myself it's one of the most rewarding job you can do!!! Love all my babies

That school is blessed to have that dedicated young lady!
Nate what a great job u did. Thank u for showing this. God bless 😊
I enjoyed this video, when I was in school every thing was fixed at school. You did a great job on preparation of food.👍👍
Tough work Nate :)) the kids make it all worth it
I like how you told Jared, "go eat now" 😂
You did great Nate....and ladies! 👏👍
Nate Eaton, you are my hero, you are just an awesome, fantastic person!
I’m a cafe worker in Illinois in a middle school!! Fun job and rewarding, I love it!!
My son’s smaller size school cooked nothing. A caterer was used. I loved being a lunch lady. The kids were great (elementary school). Great job Nate!
What a great idea! I never realized all the work that went into serving and making all these lunches! Thanks!
In my day they made all the lunch by hand. No boxed or frozen stuff!
I remember the cinnamon rolls they made

Nate this was Awesome to watch. Thanks for sharing with us!
Good job Nate.👍🏻
Shout out to all the cool Lunch Ladies ❣️
I always love the lunch ladies at my elementary school and later HS they were so sweet and humble I knew them by their names and back then we had really good food.
Kudos to you and the ladies Nate, a job well done!
Something so simple but so important. Especially if they don't get food at home. That may be these kids only source of food all day. ❤ YOU NATE!
Sad but true.
Wow! So organized! I’m usually in the classroom so I don’t get to see all of this! What a fun segment!
❤ Nate to cute. Thank you Always Donna Barnes ❤
Thank you for sharing some of what these very unappreciated ladies do for all our kids!
Hahaha, I enjoyed that! Great job, Nate; and loved your helpful "co-workers", too!
Nate the Great 😊
Okay Nate… “Accuracy before speed!”
Kudos Nate! You did a great job! I’d hire you as a lunch worker any day!!
I work in the kitchen in Highline School District almost for 7 years and totally love it.😂😅
That was a great job NATE! Your highered!❤😊from AKRON, OHIO
Wow!2 selections? That's cool. I don't remember having a choice. Lunch ladies are awesome!!!
Hard work but you all did a great job!
Not aure exactly why i am sitting here in upstate NY watching lunches being served in Idaho, but I am. Some things are universal!
You are a good sport.
Can say I learned from an early age-my mother worked in the school cafeteria for a couple of years

Excellent job! Did they feed Nate and camera man too? 🌞
Nate ❤⭐️🍔🌮
😂😂 Good Fun😂😂
1:35 a lot of paper towels used 😂😂
Wow...seriously...that's school lunch in the greatest country in the world????? omg....
I was going to try working at our school cafeteria and they said I had to pay 50 dollars to apply. Stupid .
That lunch was so unhealthy. If my daughter's school had served those dishes, I would be mad. It must be a U.S. thing.
why are they the only one with hair nets?
So we are giving elementary students completely processed foods?
Where’s the cheese for the burgers ?
Typical to not halve nutritional value in food for schools. Just something in their stomachs….. oh and cheap too
Looks good, but have they heard of nutrition? Kids need more than wheat, cheese and meat!
Dude your burger assembly is a mess
,😉😉😉
😆😆👽
5:00 so much talking & spit everywhere, where is the face mask? 😢😢
He does not look happy it's all a big phony smile
What a strange comment.
