They both co wrote the song, it was for Sharon.

Lemmy wrote it, only joking it was about Sharon. Lem & Oz did an interview together and the interviewer spoke about what a beautiful tribute it was to Sharon. Ozzy laughed and said "I didn't write it, he did!" The interviewer asked Lem who he wrote it about, and Lem quickly joked "Sharon!".

Caution, 'Mama' back then was often an endearment for wife or girlfriend. It also sometimes was used instead of 'woman'.

Love this song. Love Ozzy and Sharon both. It’s one of the few rock star marriages that has lasted as long as it has, over 30 years. It’s been a bumpy road, but it usually smooths out. Love Jack and Kelly too. They’re an awesome family. You should check out the show Ozzy and Jacks World Tour, so you can get to know them a bit. Thanks for doing this song. Hadn’t heard it in years. Saw him in concert just a few months before his guitarist Randy Rhodes was killed. It was a fabulous show. Good job!

This song is about Sharon Osborne, his wife. It was after Sharon had him arrested for attacking and almost chocking her to death after a severe drinking/drug binge Ozzy had in his drug and drinking days. She had forgiven him and welcomed him home after the incident, this song was his reaction to the situation. They both have been very open with the incident, it seems Sharon and Ozzy’s love has kept them together throughout Ozzy’s crazy life style throughout the years.

Ozzy Osbourne was the lead singer of Black Sabbath from the late 60s until 1978. They had multiple hit albums in that time. He was fired from Sabbath and then went solo in 1979. Then years later, Ozzy and the original Black Sabbath reunited!!!

This song was created because of an incident between Ozzy and his wife Sharon. During a Alcohol & Drug binge, Ozzy tried to kill his wife citing, "We have all decided that you need to go."
Ozzy had been suffering Drug & Alcohol abuse for years, and one day tried to kill his wife. Sharon called the cops on him and he awoke in Jail not knowing what had occurred. Ozzy spent time locked up for the incident, and don't take me wrong but Ozzy loves his wife Sharon. Everyday he was in jail he thought of her and how he could've done this.
Sharon eventually took him back, and Ozzy has struggled to keep sober since. He wrote "Mama" after her as he calls her Mama. Mostly he yells, "Sharon" now. Ozzy slips now and then with wine, but he knows when to stop. He still takes drugs, but mostly medication as his past drug use has crippled his system over the 30 years of abuse.
You should try hearing "See you on the Other Side" or "Perry Mason" one of my favorites.

Ozzy, actually, said that he wrote this about being on the road and he used to say to Sharon on his last show of a tour, "Mama, I'm coming home." this song is based on that, along with some things they have done to each other throughout their marriage. that was Ozzy's explanation on many interviews where he was asked about it.
