Good stuff on the series man! Thanks for your knowledge and time to make these videos on this stuff!
Logan, why don't you sell DVD's of your 47re, 48re teardown & rebuild
Good video. Why do you do away with the stator snout seal? Any benefits?
Yes. When you increase line pressure, especially if it’s near or 180psi, leaving that sealing ring in place can cause converter ballooning from the increased line pressure. Removing that sealing ring allows the converter to vent off that excess pressure. On my 1000+hp units we actually do an apply regulated lock up to maintain a maximum of 180psi to the converter while main line pressure can be set higher. In this application we do run the converter sealing ring. For all of my diy kits (800hp and down) we don’t do apply regulated lock up so you’ll need to remove the sealing ring.
My stator tube has spun. Do I replace the stator or repair it. If repairing how do u do that?
My case was so bad. The case was covered with what seemed like clay. I had to use a wire brush on a drill to clean it. The pressure washer did no good.
Where'd you get your trans table from?
A papa John’s restaurant that was getting renovated 😂
