if i remember right it was ment to be on gameboy advance and they even did a gameboy advance version in japan. But the DS was more profitable so they "remade" it for the DS and that was the version the west got. Also the DS got a "DLC" Case with Rise of the Ashes with kinda messed with the continuity of the trilogy.
@@keoplays167 You have some of that right. Ace Attorney was originally being made for the GBC but once Capcom got access to the GBA they started developing it for that. This GBA version you're talking about is the original game which came out 4 years before it did in the west. They then ported it to the DS. They used the exact same GBA assets in the port so I wouldn't call it a remake. The rest you had correct.
@@keoplays167 The games were going to be developed for the GBC, but the developers were inpressed with the GBA and developed the games for that. The GBA versions only released in Japan, and the only worldwide releases for the trilogy were on the DS.
Im really not sure it would sound like that in an actual gbc since the 8 bit chips had limitation in the number of sound in one moment. The gba was way more usefull for them to use.
Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho! That was close, Wrighto! You almost had me! Sorry but you'll have to do better than that. I refute your allegations. At that moment I was playing with my NES!
How did you end up making this? It's really good, I don't detect the usual fakebit stuff but it uses too many channels for 2A03. I think I detect the VRC6 pulses in there as well so I wanted to be safe by asking lmao
Your bassline does the same F - G# - C# - D# loop through the whole track, this is wrong, it has two more variations. Check 0:19 and 0:38 here - ruclips.net/video/UFcJmOs8DRQ/видео.html
This was made with Famitracker, which replicates the sound and limitations of NES hardware, that being 2 pulse channels, a triangle channel, a noise channel, and a 1-bit DPCM sample channel. It also uses the VRC6 expansion, which was used in a few Konami games released for the Famicom, and adds 2 additional pulse channels and a sawtooth channel. While the term "8-bit" technically refers to the size of a CPU's data bus (how much data it can access in a single instruction), the term has become associated with pretty much every aspect of 3rd-generation video game consoles (NES, Sega Master System, etc.) In conclusion; no, the Gameboy cannot replicate the sound of this remix, but the NES very much could. In addition, while technically music cannot be defined as "8-bit", the hardware that is being replicated in this remix (the NES, more specifically, the Ricoh 2A03) was 8-bit. I hope this answered your question!
@@FoxieTheWordCapitalizer You seem to be confusing the terms "Arrangement" and "Composition". I did not compose the music, however, I did make my own arrangement of the music.

This is extremely well made, and I can hear this was not done through some filter, it actually has that NES feel to it
This is just, perfect. Exactly what would sound if AA released on NES.

This is not a 8 bits version, Gameboy can't produce this kind of melodies and quick beats.
