- In this video I will show you how I use the Torso T-1 to create drum patterns in a few minutes. I paired it with the Rossum Assimil8or, a very powerful eurorack sampler with MIDI capabilities.

You always put together an interesting and varied kit to do your music. It is very entertaining as well as informative.
Thanks! I think different tools create different synergies, always fun to see what happens!
Great video. Would love to see more of these in this combo ;-) Would love to learn more about the configuration
So many options! We are spoiled...
Nice T-1 tutorial! Thanks! Very inspiring!
Glad you liked it!
You are my hero! I am exactly looking for this combination. Are you interested in making more videos of this?
for sure :)
That would be really great ;-)
Nice. I’m learning mine and I think it’s fantastic and intuitive for rhythms, but I struggle with making a melody I am happy with. I’ll get there if I keep playing with it!
Great video. Sadly it says on their site it is sold out. Anyone knows if its gonna be a available again some time soon ?
Oh wow, somehow I never heard about Locutus! That seems like it makes the Assimil8or much more usable.
it basically makes it a midi standalone portable amazing sample!
Can I ask, because I had this trouble with the Acid Rain Constellation, does the swing work properly when using an external clock?
Hi, any idea about Program Change from T1 to external device by midi only? I learned a lot, but without any success for me about this, thanks for your videos, and help if you have the answer.
I have to check the manual , never used that function!
Killer! Love to see the answers to the questions in the comments.
:)
Do you think Euclidean mode on Digitakt II can replace the T-1?
No, I think it is awesome to haven but the T1 is a tool built around euclidean sequencing and it is definitely more straightforward and gratifying to use!
It sounds a little like there's a slight swing or push and pull of the pulses. So it's not exactly square 4:4. How are you achieving that?
The T1 has two knobs labeled Accnt/groove and timing/delay, those add swing and some algorhytmic groves.super useful stuff!
The T-1 seems very capable of getting random 'glitch' inspired textures. I need to take a closer look at its capabilities. I don't need/use sequencers for my melodies/harmonies, so the Oxy never seemed to fit what i needed. Additionally, i don't like spending a lot of time on developing textured backgrounds (only if i want them in the same key and time signature as the song), and for doing that, yep, T-! may be my ticket... I was also thinking of the OP-Z's sequencer. However, .T-1 seems like the smarter move.
As for the sample module, considering its price tag, does it seem to have many, and powerful options, to where someone could use it as one of their only 'samplers'? No need for a small review or anything like that. I'm just curious if its sound is capable as a 'stand alone' sample player from what you've experienced with your time playing it? A sampler will be my next 'big' hardware purchase, and there are a couple of others about to be released, so i'm wondering if I should add this one to my options. It does sound great in the video, which is why i'm so curious. Please disregard my questions if you are planning a demo video of the module.
Thanks for the great video!
T1 seems a good choice for you to see too. About the Assimil8or, it has a sort of cult following because it really sound fantastic. The way it interpolates sample is unique. The designer is the same who created the SP, so it is a small version of that. Definitely not something irreplaceable, it has some sides I dont like ( file management is silly), but for sound design and quality of sound is amazing.
@@OoraMusic Thanks Oora! Yeah, I like the sound a lot too, the more i listen, the more I like the idea of having its sound in my workflow... I just wish it cost $850 less....hehha!
I forgot to mention before, what a damn great job you did on your piece Reconfigured (recent EP). It's a powerful, and tight sounding, piece. You know, where all the phrases/arpeggios just fit together very well.
I think the Oxi one can do the same.
You literally have a module in your rack that can do almost all that Thorso does and more. Look to the left of your sampler. Pam can do eucl., loop, change on flight do bolean and other functions. The only thing is it doesn't have patterns but you mostly work with muting anyway so that would work just fine. Try it out.
yeah. know, but it is kind of a pain to use the super small screen :)
