Stuttering is one of the main causes of my depression. I’m terrified to talk at all even to my family because I don’t like to hear the way I talk. I wish it would just go away.
This was great, thanks, I've been looking for "how to not stutter when speaking" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Rincaas Stammify Blocker - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my cousin got amazing results with it.
This is glorious, I've been looking for "mild stuttering when nervous" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Rincaas Stammify Blocker - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate got great success with it.
Stuttering is shit. I can't socialize, and when I try making a joke halfway there I realize it's not funny because I'm stuttering. Worst of all, I can get bullied about stuttering.
yea but it's nice if you can tell me a jokes or something.. because i feel u, because im stuttering too. and we laugh at each other. like we have no problem.
GLO BRO it's really comforting to know that i'm not alone. i feel like nobody has it in my country apart from me and my brother. it fucking sucks so bad i can't comprehend :(
If you really want to get rid of your stutter, read I am the Mind by Deep Trivedi. You stutter because of the complexes people created within you as a child, this book will remove it and more
reading books has almost cured mine. I disliked reading but now I love it, it has raised my intelligence & almost cured me. start by reading 5 pages silently inside your head but say the words inside your head as if your speaking normal (don't read fast, just fluent). then read 2 pages out loud, go slow if you have to. turn on a loud fan go to your room whatever. no worries less stuttering so you should do OK reading 2 out loud. then go back to 5 pages silently then 2 and repeat. I read a book a week and have found a new hobby. it has changed my life. praying to Jesus has helped as well through all the times I had to present, or even just order food in the drive in or anything, you know what I mean.. what do you have to lose? good luck and God bless
that's what i thinking. when you practice ur mouth try to speak out loud.. when i'm in ROTC we always speak loud after 2 months my stutter was gone and i speak fluently. but after 6 months i had so many problems in school and then my stuttering starts -.-. and it's gotten worse :(.. but i never give up to myself... life is hard :(
kent alimojanid that's part of the reason I haven't went into military I have always wondered that but interesting you think it helped. Start to read books. Find something you are interested in and regularly read. I'm up to 2 hours a day. Not all at once but yea it significantly helps I can't stress this enough. Meditate also helps. Work on clearing your mind. Start small, 5 minutes a day. I hated it at first. Now I can do it so well, most of my anxiety is gone. You can just accept your predicament or you can do something about it to fix, or at the very least, alleviate, the problem. That's my philosophy
Hi Joe, your way of practicing seems interesting and I hope to start it soon. I want to know how long have you been practicing this? 2 hrs a day is too much for someone who is new. I think, if I get benefit out of it than I may have to continue this practice for whole life! Do you also think so. Your comment will greatly appreciated.. Thanks
Amit Das, it didn't take as long as you would think. I've been reading for a few years but it only took maybe a few months to get it up to two hours. Not all at once either and obviously there are days (and phases) where I can't get 2 hours in but an hour is good too but not as good ofcourse. Idk it works for me. Just pick books that actually interest you. Actually comprehend what you're reading. Clearly say the words when you read out loud a few pages. Practice breathing properly as if you're reading infront of a group. Stick with it most importantly. It works for me, but at the very least, it can help you and help many others. Meditating helps too with clearing anxiety and stopping the over thinking (both of which lead to stuttering.. At least for me) let me know if you have other questions
I’m happy that there are people below in the comments going through the same pain and hell as i am, we’re not alone my friends. I just hope our lives gets better than it is today. 🌱
English class was always the worst for me, because we read aloud a lot. I use to count the paragraphs vs students to see when it would be my turn to read. I'm practicing my paragraph the whole time, trying to every word right. Usually, I got a block anyway. sigh.
As a 29 year old stutterer, I think stutter is more of a psychological issue. Let me tell you some proven tricks from my exp to get rid of the stutter/stammer: 1. Accept yourself the way you are. Accept that you stutter/stammer and it's normal because it's none of your fault. 2. Start ignoring people. Ignore what others think. It doesn't matter. 3. Stop thinking about the words you can't say. Believe me, if you force yourself on certain words, it gets worse. I couldn't say even my own name which starts with "U" 4. Be confident that your words don't define you. Your work defines you. 5. Mostly important, the faster you forget that you stutter, the faster you will get it away. Convince yourself that you don't stutter untill it's gone and you don't have to worry about it.
It's ok girly I studder to I've been studdering since I was 3 it's hard but haters are gonna hate cause they have no life ur perfect just the way u are and don't let anyone tell u otherwise 💕
There is someone in France called Christian Boisard (he was himself stutering in the past) who has an amazing method against stuterring. It's so effective that people from all around the world come to learn his method. You can research his name on the internet.
I stutter but no one in my family stutters and it's so fustrating because I have great ideas and I'm very intelligent but im not able to say what I think clearly my stutter is minor sometimes a speak fine then other times I don't and I have to use other words and avoid conversations
Excellent view. There is a science to get rid of stuttering. I can show you how to talk without any delay in speech when you are ready.. Coach Davoud at your service. www.nlpsuccesscoaches.com If it is genetic why people start stuttering in different ages. Even if it is, you could change our genetic blueprint according to Dr. Bruce Lipton professor of molecular biology. Also if parents of the smoker the statistic shows more likely the children will see that behavior and will start and get I habit of smoking. So if one of the parents were stutter then the kids see it and could learn it by imitating the parents who are role models of the kind. I have helped many to get rid of their issue with the scientific methods of understanding (genetic or not you can do without the speech delay.). When you are ready, I will be at your service. Coach Davoud
But how do you build confidence? That's the part I struggle with, I've been stuttering since I was around 4-5, and I still do it's so irraiting when you know what you wanna actually say but then you have to change up certain words in order to avoid stuttering 😐
Yep 100% Its been 2 years I havent had problems with stuttering cause of my confidence but it's starting to get back I can feel it idk why tho but yh confidence is a cure for stuttering and not everyone can be confident enough
The other day I went to a meeting at school and I couldn't even say my name it was so embarrassing cuz he said "what's ur name ?" And I didn't answer and he said "u don't know ur name?" And then I just left the room crying I just hate stuttering I would do anything to stop it
Alexa XOXO, Pls create time to Read, create a Mental picture of wht u reading, and also Meditate. These practices helps than whtever prescription out thr! I use to think its a genetic disorder bt whn i put it into practise, it cured mine. Now i now speak so fluently tht m so scared of hurting anyone.
Yeah its tough. . . .its horrible... But one day there will be a cure.... They're is probably one already, but the universal medical field will never acknowledge stuttering...
Oh come on, this is the third horrible comment of you I see, you don't need to feel sad about something you born with, also try to change the people you socialise with, I can see they're very mean to you.
@@minaninna8088 wow, now you're attacking me for being unable to read the horrible way some people treated you. I guess I'll be in your next comment, "the worst feeling when they reply to your comment, and then you get teary eyes🥺🥺😢".

@Shaan Malik..They always point out my stuttering problem and that I should have speech therapy. I did not pass interviews many times. I know the answers but I cannot express it well because of my stuttering. But, we should not lose hope, we can still land a job.
I stutter alot and people mock me alot at school and everytime I stutter around my parents they get mad I can't say anything without getting teased, mocked, or yelled at. And at a store I was supposed to get some stuff and I asked a woman where the stuff was and I stuttered then a group of teens mocked me so the woman kicked them. out. I actually felt safe for once
This was great, thanks, I have been researching "stutter problems" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Rincaas Stammify Blocker - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my buddy got great success with it.
stuttering sucks. I’ve been stuttering for as long as I could talk. it makes me so frustrated and makes me have so many anxiety. the main reason I have social anxiety is because I’m so scared to talk to people. I cant even say my own name when I meet someone new. I really hate it. I just want it to get better.
I use to stummer in school and there's a teacher who joke around whenever he ask me a question in class and pupils will laugh along. Right now that teacher is not alive
I’ve researched surgeries and pills to cure my stutter to no avail. My speech therapist is helping me with avoidance reduction but I don’t know if I can ever fully not be afraid to stutter in public. But I can say I’m tired of having no friends and no social life because of something I can’t control. Hopefully one day we all either accept ourselves for who we are or get the cure to fix it. At this point, I’m fine with either. Cheers to all my fellow stutterers! 🍻
I recently got a job where one of my team mates stutters. I obviously knew stuttering conditions existed but this was the first time I interacted with someone who had a stutter. Now, seeing it first hand im very interested in better understanding the underlying cause because it seems like a fixable problem to me. I have knowledge and experience studying many many substances that alter brain function. May I ask you a few questions? 1.) What pills have you used to help your stuttering? Or at least, which ones did you research? 2.) If you use nicotine do symptoms improve or worsen? (Nicotine can be obtained using the transdermal patches or gum. Smoking/vaping is not necessary to test this) 3.) Does coffee or tea make things worse or better? 4.) Is the stuttering better/worse in the mornings directly after sleep? 5.) Are symptoms worse when sleep deprived?
@@__-pl3jgWe mostly stutters when we have to speak something with someone who is unknown that we stammer. For me, sometimes I can say the word without any problems but sometimes I can’t even able to complete or start that word. I think that it’s becoz of my respiration which was affecting my talk when speaking, or I have to clean or calm my mind down and have to get so much relax, then I speak slowly and I don’t stammer. Even from years am finding the solution in myself that ‘How to speak slowly with full confidence’
Bro Stuttering is never hindrance in making friends, though may effect a little bit but never blocks from making friends. Maybe depression is making you feel like you have no friends and in reality there maybe people who are trying to reach out to you but you are ignoring them because of intrusive thoughts.
When I see videos of others having a worst stutter than me, it's heartbreaking man. I can't even imagine what they feel like, stuttering can be so depressing, frustrating and stressful even suicidal , friends or family may tease you for it, they don't mean it but it saddens me a lot and I show it, I'm 28 and had stuttered since childhood, Man I wish there was cure for it, I get so stressed out with myself and I begin to get neck and shoulder pains, it really sucks man, and I'm even more embarrassed when I talk to new ppl and I begin to stutter, sometimes taking deep breaths and talking at a slower pace does help, I do get anxiety from it, wish I talked at a regular pace and normal 😕
At first I was very worried about my stutter and then when my lil sister was born we found out that she has stutter too. ...... now I'm completely in depressed mood whenever I talk to her I wish I she could talk more fluently and her stammering would be transferred to me. ... only if the prayers are accepted :(
I’m only writing you this because a year ago someone did the same to me and I’ve improved tremendously. If you want to combat stuttering please read “How to Stop Stuttering & Love Speaking” by Lee G Lovett. I attended speech therapy for almost a year and never felt improvement in my speech, but after reading that book, I found improvement after two months! I just want all who suffer to find this book because it’s really a God send. If someone like me, who had very low self esteem and thought my stutter could never be fixed, could defeat stuttering than so can you and anybody else. I wish nothing, but the best.
I’ve stuttered my whole life and it’s just something I need to work on... I’ve served in a high stress surroundings in the Marine Corps and I’ve given classes and speak at my church... It’s so frustrating because it comes and goes... All I can say to people who have this problem is to read out loud in the mornings and give clear thought of your words before you speak... But most of all don’t let it punk you down... Shit sucks but it’s just something you have to work on... Be confident in all areas in your life and you will be able to handle it.
Stuttering cannot make you unsuccessful. Keep speaking, keep practicing. I also stammer sometimes. but i did not lose hope. I made my RUclips channel monetized. In old videos i Used to stammer but with the passage of time i improved. God is with you. believe in yourself. Even if people laugh at you there is no problem. The main point is i will never give up
I love how we’re all coming together in the comments to talk about the things we hate because of stuttering. I know no one in my life that stutters too 😭
To be honest to know there a lot of people who go through the pain of stuttering like me everyone who told their story of stuttering , I actually relate
I have been stuttering for almost my whole life, that whole time i was understanding stuttering as a problem, and it brought so much stress, frustration and anger in my life. But it's exactly the opposite for me now. I appreciate it. For me it's a gift,....it shaped my personality , my mindset and continues to do so. It had put me on my personal development journey that i am now on . I am thankful for this. Of course sometimes it gets hard, but in a long run it is worth it. So people of the internet hehe, try to appreciate it, because it is representing the most authentic you. Believe me, maybe it sounds stupid but that kind of mindset is very powerful, it brings happiness, peace and a lot of love in live.
That is true, but if you wanna get rid of it at least for me it is essential to have that kind of mindset. Because if you develop strong resistance toward it it is going to be a lot a lot harder to fix it.
do you have time to talk ? I want to make friends like you who are so positive . please mail me your skype or whtsap number , we will create a group of 10-15 people and will monitor each other's success . ONE MORE THING AM NOT A SALES MEN , AM JUST A STAMMERER LIKE YOU WHO WANT TO GET RID OF IT AT ANY COST , BUT NEED SUPPORT FROM PEOPLE LIKE YOU IN MY JOURNEY . MAIL ME AT peterthewebdeveloper@gmail.com
Same here but I didn't let it stop me from rapping cause when I rapped tah some songs I noticed that I never stuttered so I decided tah become a gospel rapper n now I'm kinda known
No one should be bullied for who they are. Stammering is just a characteristic of some people. People should also just have the decency to wait for someone to finish what they’re saying. It pisses me off to no end when I get pressured or ignored because of my stammer.
When i was little I could easily reduce my stuttering by reading a chapter book out loud in my room and now I'm 23 I haven't been reading out loud so my stuttering came back I'm just not into reading anymore, but I should try to read again when I'm free.
I have this problem since a child but when I speak i tend to shake my head or like my head would glitch can you explain to me why is this happening please?
I was badly stuttering in my teen Ages but Alhamdulillah I’m much better now. I recited a dua from Al Quran morning and evening. Allah has cured me 90% now. My self confidence has also improved
@@sarahs7413 the dua was recited by Musa A.S because he used to stutter as well. The dua is " Rabbish rehli sadri , wa yassirli amri, Wah lul uqdatam mil lisaani, yaf kahu kawli "
You know the worst part about stuttering is, is when shit people mock you about, it takes a lot of work getting words out of your mouth and then while your struggling to say a word or having a conversation you just have people mocking you, its so damn annoying and disrespectful
what really makes me sad is that every time I wake up, I know that I have to go through all the humiliation I get for stuttering and that's what makes me space out of others and lock myself in my house and not socialize because every time I speak, I either get mocked or yelled at, I just wish doctors find a cure for us stammers so we can live once again...
Because this is bullshit. I firmly believe stuttering is a severe form of anxiety about speech. If it is a gene, why can we sing perfectly, why can most read sentences from books out loud within much problems, why can we talk to ourselves and animals without stuttering most of the times (I know this isn't true for all stutters).
As a life long stutter, I can also say it has affected my life in many ways. It prevented me from dating the girls I liked, getting the jobs I wanted, and low confidence and self-esteem. But part of me was very stubburn that I refused a defeat. I improved a lot that my career is in tech field and it involves being on the phone for most of the day. I don't think it is geneteic but more paralyzing fear.
Well, You should thank God that he gave you something which prevented you from dating girls and be Modest. Go Gym & Become Sigma my boiii! Also, We gotta struggle for heaven. We won't stutter in heaven i hope so.
I’ve stuttered my whole life but is getting better, now my confidence is beyond this planet, I do speeches and speak in front of my classmates. No one is going to kill you if you stutter, no one really cares, breathe and speak up.
Hi guys am Nelson from south Africa, Am also suffering of stuttering. This year I think am better than the last. This is a work on progress where the goal can be reached. The more you grow, the more you build level of faith and believe in your self. #this-too-shall-pass
I never ever had any stuttering until I had my severe traumatic brain injury when I was 19 (on the mid right side of my brain, and my brain injury needed immediate brain surgery to save my life,it wasn’t a mild TBI) after that, if I get even a little nervous or anxious about anything, or even just indecisive about something, I stutter severely. I wonder if underdevelopment, or damage to specific parts of the brain attribute to stuttering. Thanks for the vid, and showing people that even though someone stutters, it has absolutely nothing to do with how smart or “normal” they are ❤️
Just knowing I'm not alone is immensely helpful. My father told me I was an embarrassment because I stuttered and would ask me to change my name because I couldn't enunciate it. It broke my heart.
As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I have worked with PWS. I think if you can get to the cause of your stutter, you can get to the cure. I have found the cause of 100% of my clients. Stuttering is caused by a traumatic event between the ages of 2-7. Any thing from a dog barking in a child's face, to a child seeing someone get shot! This is the spectrum that I have worked with. A lot of people can't remember what caused their stutter. But the subconcious remembers everything. So with Hypnotherapy it is easy to get to the traumatic event. Now that you understand what caused the stutter, now you can let it go from your mind and body. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your time.
I also stammer... Believing in God and Having Faith really gave me ultra confidence. If someone hears my sentence, That's good. But if not, then get lost! I'm not obliged to tell you sentence for you. Just talk on purpose! If you state stories or emotions, that's gonna waste your time and listeners too. Tell your problems and emotional stories to God only as he knows what's inside the heart and Understands you more than yourself. Well, We should be grateful! Atleast we can talk. Alhamdullilah! Thank God, I can talk and ain't dumb!
Stuttering is with me since Grade school until college, and even now that I am working it bothers me whenever I need to talk to the crowd or to my boss... but I am working on it to improve my speaking skills even if it was so hard.. and I hope there will be a scientific explanation on it, because other people can't understand what I'm going through.. whenever I am stuttering they just saying that I was just nervous.... Yes I am nervous, all of us.. but to those out there that can relate to me, We know that it's not just being nervous... Right???
I was forced into a lot of public speaking situations when I was growing up. (I hated that my mom made me get up and do Easter speeches in church, or join the Christmas play, as a kid). SMH. Somehow I developed the ability to stutter less when public speaking, vs 1-on-1 conversations. My work life is . . . OK, I guess. My personal life kind of suck.
Yeah that is what people always say to me, feel relaxed, deep breathe, you are just nervous, and it is not. Im in my late 30s and that is still my problem now. I am hoping that we can overcome it.
Yea, I also started pausing when I stutter to not let anyone know to avoid bullying during school. People thought I was dumb or weird, but I wanted to talk say something, have a conversation but I couldn't........ School was terrible
I was the same. I'm glad we both found something to believe in to keep going, and working at it. Please share a few words of encouragement to others, when you have time to post a comment.
Whenever I feel myself calm and confident my stuttering is reduced a bit but mostly I stutter alot....its an actual pain...can't even talk normally....
@@crzyloki6548 I prayed so hard to grow out of it, but not the case for me. I just had to keep finding something to keep my confidence up, and keep practicing at it.
relatable, just few minutes ago i stuttered when talking with my boss, lmao, the depression is just so fucking strong that i dont have feeling anymore now
I stuttered really bad as a kid, I was told to take a deep breath before a sentence or a phrase, that helped me a lot , later I found out when I speak a foreign language with native speakers of that language, I do not stutter as much as I did with my native language, and then it completely (almost) went away , I still kinda have a slightly off lip and jaw movements sometimes, but nobody can tell I stutter ( unless they spend hours and hours talking with me) So, if you stutter, keep pushing yourself, choose to speak publicly, read aloud and repeat a phrase with a deep breath, nonstop, multiple times everyday, till you get it, and try learning a new language - May be its the nature's way of guiding you in to the the right environment where you can speak fluently without speech blocks. I know how hard n tough it is to have speech impairments, and wish you all the best in getting rid of them, Oh, I almost forgot, if you somehow overcome the speech blocks, YOU WILL DEFINITELY SOUND BETTER THAN MOST OF THE SPEAKERS WHO DIDN'T HAVE THESE SPEECH BLOCKS. Mark my words on that!!!
American English , I still have some stuttering with British and other dialects of English, even though I really like when someone speaks to me in those dialects, it's just like listening to a song and getting the words with a delayed "click".
To all the people like “ I get bullied cause of my stutter” “ people mock me” the same as happened to me but what you have to do is get over it. It’s in the past and now focus on how to get rid of your stutter here are some tips 1. Try repeating what your gonna say in your head a couple of times before saying it 2. Everyone says this but try talking slow and fully thinking your sentences in your head 3. It is hard but you can do it 4. If it makes u feel more confident, studies show that people with stutters are actually smarter then most people Goodluck you can do it.
I am brazilian, I stutter since my 9 years old. I am the only one in my family that stuttering. I already read many scientific article to find a answer , I watching many videos but don't find no one solution to solve this shit. When someone ask me a information I tell then that I don't know (but I know); I've never dating ; I can't a job because I stutter a lot in a interview; I can't socialize the way I wanted. It's not easy live with stuttering.
i always think about how different my life would have been had i not stuttered and the fact that this scenario will never become reality hurts so fucking much
I similarly shared the same thoughts until I read Lee Lovetts’ “How to Stop Stuttering & Love Speaking”. It’s a massive 700 page book, but the read was worth it because I tremendously improved my speech and mind. If someone like me with very low self esteem who battled with stuttering for 15 years, defeated it then you can too.
Stuttering causes me great anxiety and I became anti-social because of it. Not to mention they'd make fun of me in school and I also hated class presentations because of it. My dad and my younger sister also stutter. Even at work I rarely interact with my coworkers due to that anxiety Also it can cause you to be depressed
I've had stuttering since childhood and I can't describe the emotional pain and difficulties I've went through because of this shit. I still have it but thank God it's not as severe as before, I can usually talk to people the way they can understand me and I don't care much about it for years.
I also stuttered allot and now my stuttering is occasional . I thank my teacher/Doc - she taught me the finger technique while talking. Pressing the finger tip of each finger for every syllable . Guys try it , it took me a month with 2 hours of reading out loud using this technique. Please try guys . Thanks and I wish to all that the problem gets solved asap either by this method or whichever, just have faith and believe in the technique, be confident.
Breathe properly be in control, breathe before you talk and try to say each syllable clearly and stuttering is fine , so relax ,be confident and those who make fun shows their maturity , dont give strength to them by getting effected .
What helps me is to talk very calmly and practice before the mirror. If I catch myself stuttering I remember where I fucked up and practice the same word or sentence on my own.
As a kid, I was and I still am very self conscious of my stuttering. I used to never like to answer questions at school because I thought everyone would laugh at my stuttering. I have been in speech therapy since I was 7 years old. I have gotten better but I still stutter a lot. This video gave me hope that I wouldn't stutter anymore!
Someone said stuttering is shit and I totally agree with them. I've been stuttering since I was 9 and am 43 years old now. As a qualified engineer expected to make presentations time and again, the stuttering really freaks me out and disturbs my flow almost all the time. I've been very lucky to have colleagues and friends that do their best to extract meaning from my unclear speech - it hurts deeply especially since I once had a dream of becoming a radio presenter. Now, my two daughters appear to be stuttering: my observation is that they do so whenever they spend time with me - coz each time they go on vacation with their mother they come back with almost no stutter at all. I'm convinced that their stuttering is a direct outcome of them trying to speak like their father .
As an ex stutterer myself, I would like to recommend Lee Lovett’s WSSA online program and his many helpful books. It helped me overcome my own stutter earlier this year and I hope you find the same success with it. All the best.
How did you manage to find someone willing to constantly listen to you? Nowadays everyone's attention spans are shrinking due to social media but I'm still curious
Mera bhi 10 years chal Raha hai .... Class me reading parne ke time main bohot shutter karta tha ... Isliye Puri class mere upar hasta tha ... Now I am in college ... Abhi main Akela reheta hun ... Main kisiki nahi samjha pati ... Meri itna dukh ... Itna dard ... Itna .. depress main kaise jhelu .... Koi Nehi hain mere se bat karne ka .... Main still single hu ... Or west Bengal se hun .. or bangali hun
There won't be Not yet at least, not until I come in to the neuroscience field and figure it out The government wouldn't pay attention to it anyway though, as less than 5% of the world has a genetic stutter
I'm 15 and Ive had a stutter since i started talking and when i started high school when i was 12 it got a whole lot worse and gave me social anxiety and at the start of last year (2019) my social anxiety got extremely bad to the point were in school i would'nt ask for help in class if i was stuck on a question or something and because i wouldnt ask for help ive failed some tests because i didnt know what i was doing and also at lunch time i wouldnt get anything to eat because i was too scared to go up and get something to eat. Last month i was diagnosed with depression.
I realized that increasing self-esteem alleviates stuttering. There was a time when I was very motivated, I wasn't nervous or anxious about speaking in front of people. However, whenever my self-esteem or confidence drops even a little, I become speechless. It still is. It's just that people are more vulnerable to stuttering than the general population due to genetic factors, but stuttering is not a lifelong disability that cannot be cured.
I concur 110%. Stuttering is just a nasty bad habit built up through guilt, shame and embarrassment. A book entitled, Stop Stuttering Short Course: How to Break the Stuttering Code helped me realized that and it helped overcome my speech difficulties.
I'm stuttering my whole life and u know I'm kinda feeling that I would to anything to stop that. Like people who aren't stuttering are soo lucky, because stuttering is embarrasing, u can't say clearly what u think, u can't sociallize and u need to change words, what's worse that whenever ur saying something i can't finish my sentence cause I know that I'm going to stutter, I have big fear of it, I'm missing alot of chances because of that. If I wouldn't be stuttering, I would be much more active ant talkativebut now I just can't do anything and I'm afraid to talk, it just sucks...
@Asiri Maduranga Thank you so much so stay in contact with me there, because now i am not allow to use my messenger for 30 days but stay in contact and i will show you how to be no more a bad stutter as i did it. All the best to you.
During the pandemic...i started to stutter more often ....and my best friends who were always with me and said they would never leave me behind....now due to my problem ....my friends stopped talking normally ....they talk arrogantly and just ignore me and they don't intent to listen to me
thats brave, stuttering and becoming a lawyer. I stutter and my job doesnt require much talking to people , just 5% to 10% of the time and still is very frustrating.
I don't understand how is it exciting to know that this is a condition found within genes? If it's in genes it probably can't be cured, but if it was a psychological condition it could be potentially treated as it lives in the brain. Please someone explain this to me, how is it that being in the genes is a good thing??
That's what I thought too, but I think if there are damaged cells that are located in the speech region of the brain, then they could eventually develop some sort of treatment / medication to cure those cells thus curing the stutter.
probably they are idiots , how can you speak in 100% accurate way when you are alone ? if genes are causing us the problem then we shouldn't be able to talk at all. Real problem is we started with small fumbling , then due to anxiety and social bullying it become worst , and we started ignoring people and soon we got that fear in our mind developed that we can;t speak at all, so soon our mind developed the situations where we can't speak , whenever you are in that situation your mind sends your body a signal to not speak . No matter how hard you try you fail again and again. Now coming to the solution , we can get rid of it with the help of meditation , I have a 100% free course which will help you 100% please message me if you want that . mail is peterthewebdeveloper@gmail.com, one more thing am not selling anything , am a stammerer like you are . I am trying to change my life and get rid of that so will appreciate if you join me in this journey . I want to create a group of 10-15 people where we will discuss each other's success . Thanks
Zinat, spot on comment cutting through the nonsense and bullshit. Dysfluent speech (the starting point) is physical and starts in the brain, the step from "c/c/c/c/c/can I..." to blocking and stretching your sounds is all psychological. Researchers need to distinguish the two but they don't. I love transactional analysis and psychodynamic theory to explain why people change from being 4 years old and having some dysfluent speech to being 5 and really struggling, blocking, stretching, all that stuff with real struggle. It's down to parents and society making children believe they can't talk or that saying "c/c/c/c/c/c/c..." is bad/wrong/failure that changes a dysfluent speaker into a stuttering or person who stutters. Take care.
I am a lifelong stutterer that had mostly had it under control by age 36, but recently after having brain surgery it has returned. I have to remind myself of the techniques that I've relied on. The one tool that this most helpful is using a Brittish accent. I don't know why that is a cureall exactly, but I believe it to be the fact that there are more easy-onsets to the words and a softer mouth actions. I know this won't work for people of the UK that are also stutterers, but it works for me.
@@randomstranger5014 i know how hard it is to deal with stuttering in life believe it or not even now when im married for 17 years and have 5 kids still have these feelings and doubts. Beandon, logic should tell you that there is nothing physically wrong with you, since you can speak fluently. It is your relationship with people that needs work. Why do you feel less than them? You have fears and worries? So does everyone else. You are not different. You are equal in every way. So be open, admit your fears. learn to ask simple questions like "how's your day?" Then listen; really listen because everyone has a story they love telling.
I've been stuttering since I was very little, my parents tried therapy and speech sessions and it didn't work. Now I'm stuck with this shit for the rest of my life.
I have a similar story, but thankfully all that changed thanks to a book by Lee Lovett, entitled How to Stop Stuttering and Love Speaking. Immerse yourself in his methods and program and you’ll see improvement. Take it from me who battled with stuttering for 15 years.
it isn't just genetics that causes it The rest of my Family does not stutter I am the only one who does. However, I do have minor stuttering. So that makes me believe that the people that are effected by stuttering that came from genetics have more severe stuttering.
It's a habit in our subconscious mind ,it's very easy to recover from this ,create a new neuron pattern in our brain like new speech pattern (i.e) slow speech. If we speak consciously ,we never stammer , but when we go subconscious mind like fear, anger, anxiety we do stammer , so 1)create a new speech pattern 2)go gratitude meditation 3)do affirmation like positive words(I'm the great stage speaker, I can do anything, I'm a achiever, no one is a great stage speaker except me) 4) do imagination practice (wherever you want to speak ,do it in imagination) consistently do it for 3 months , u will get a tremendous result .These are the things which I learnt from my stammering class
There is a switch that you can turn it off. I have stuttered 66 years. The switch or key whatever you want to call it is when you absolutely k n o w in your head you can speak fluently you will be able to. I absolutely guarantee you I could turn the switch on and off at my will...

Thanks
Joe H. What age did you start improving on your speech?? I'm trying to copy demonsthenes formula

As a 29 year old stutterer, I think stutter is more of a psychological issue. Let me tell you some proven tricks from my exp to get rid of the stutter/stammer:
I couldn't say even my own name which starts with "U"
4. Be confident that your words don't define you. Your work defines you.
5. Mostly important, the faster you forget that you stutter, the faster you will get it away. Convince yourself that you don't stutter untill it's gone and you don't have to worry about it.
Thanks!

Now, seeing it first hand im very interested in better understanding the underlying cause because it seems like a fixable problem to me. 1.) What pills have you used to help your stuttering? Or at least, which ones did you research?
2.) If you use nicotine do symptoms improve or worsen? (Nicotine can be obtained using the transdermal patches or gum. Smoking/vaping is not necessary to test this)
3.) Does coffee or tea make things worse or better?
4.) Is the stuttering better/worse in the mornings directly after sleep?
5.) Are symptoms worse when sleep deprived?

Wow almost 9 years ago and still no cure!?
Because this is bullshit. I firmly believe stuttering is a severe form of anxiety about speech. If it is a gene, why can we sing perfectly, why can most read sentences from books out loud within much problems, why can we talk to ourselves and animals without stuttering most of the times (I know this isn't true for all stutters).
I have it for 12 years... 😭
@@tomdotcom7844I agree with you. People always say otherwise, that it's problem of brain. It's just anxiety having an effect on our speech.
@@soccerball7828 I have it for over 20 years 😭

As a life long stutter, I can also say it has affected my life in many ways. It prevented me from dating the girls I liked, getting the jobs I wanted, and low confidence and self-esteem. But part of me was very stubburn that I refused a defeat. I improved a lot that my career is in tech field and it involves being on the phone for most of the day. I don't think it is geneteic but more paralyzing fear.
Well, You should thank God that he gave you something which prevented you from dating girls and be Modest.

Also, We gotta struggle for heaven. We won't stutter in heaven i hope so.
I’ve stuttered my whole life but is getting better, now my confidence is beyond this planet, I do speeches and speak in front of my classmates. No one is going to kill you if you stutter, no one really cares, breathe and speak up.
thank you
I got a lot of confidence in my work life. I just can't seem to get it with my personal life. Thanks for sharing, it helped.
Hi guys am Nelson from south Africa,
Am also suffering of stuttering.
This year I think am better than the last.

I stutter and I get depressed and just watch videos of people who stutter so I can feel like I’m not alone
Feel u , The worst part is being called a shy person but u know the havoc that u would cause if u didn't stutter
I wonder if underdevelopment, or damage to specific
parts of the brain attribute to stuttering. Thanks for the vid, and showing people that even though someone stutters, it has absolutely nothing to do with how smart or “normal” they are ❤️
I suggest reading Lee Lovetts’ How to Stop Stuttering and Love Speaking to help. Hope it can work for you mate.
I also developed stuttering at 5 after taking medication after brain injury

Right???
Yeah, today I was giving seminar ,I was not nervous but I stammerd a lot
It's just that my tongue got stuck at some point, and I was so embarassed.
I used to hate when the teacher picked me to read out loud to the class 😅

Yea, I also started pausing when I stutter to not let anyone know to avoid bullying during school. People thought I was dumb or weird, but I wanted to talk say something, have a conversation but I couldn't........ School was terrible
I felt suicidal because it was so embarrassing to talk but i fought through and it got way better but i still stutter a little
I was the same. I'm glad we both found something to believe in to keep going, and working at it. Please share a few words of encouragement to others, when you have time to post a comment.
Whenever I feel myself calm and confident my stuttering is reduced a bit but mostly I stutter alot....its an actual pain...can't even talk normally....

relatable, just few minutes ago i stuttered when talking with my boss, lmao, the depression is just so fucking strong that i dont have feeling anymore now
I stuttered really bad as a kid, I was told to take a deep breath before a sentence or a phrase, that helped me a lot , later I found out when I speak a foreign language with native speakers of that language, I do not stutter as much as I did with my native language, and then it completely (almost) went away , I still kinda have a slightly off lip and jaw movements sometimes, but nobody can tell I stutter ( unless they spend hours and hours talking with me)
So, if you stutter, keep pushing yourself, choose to speak publicly, read aloud and repeat a phrase with a deep breath, nonstop, multiple times everyday, till you get it, and try learning a new language - May be its the nature's way of guiding you in to the the right environment where you can speak fluently without speech blocks.
What's your second language
American English , I still have some stuttering with British and other dialects of English, even though I really like when someone speaks to me in those dialects, it's just like listening to a song and getting the words with a delayed "click".

To all the people like “ I get bullied cause of my stutter” “ people mock me” the same as happened to me but what you have to do is get over it. It’s in the past and now focus on how to get rid of your stutter here are some tips
1. Try repeating what your gonna say in your head a couple of times before saying it
2. Everyone says this but try talking slow and fully thinking your sentences in your head
3. It is hard but you can do it
4. If it makes u feel more confident, studies show that people with stutters are actually smarter then most people
Goodluck you can do it.
Yo, as a turkish stutter.I can give you some tips: reading audiobooks and doing karaoke. It helps so much.

yes by giving a peaceful death.it is the only hope for me.
i always think about how different my life would have been had i not stuttered and the fact that this scenario will never become reality hurts so fucking much
I similarly shared the same thoughts until I read Lee Lovetts’ “How to Stop Stuttering & Love Speaking”.
Even at work I rarely interact with my coworkers due to that anxiety
Also it can cause you to be depressed
Me too but i also laughed on myself to move on, because time passes..
Thanks for the positive message.

Not yet at least, not until I come in to the neuroscience field and figure it out
The government wouldn't pay attention to it anyway though, as less than 5% of the world has a genetic stutter
Everytime I try to communicate I can't even get the words out properly just bc I stutter alot and it's so awkward and frustrated.
How are you doing now?
I hate when ppl says you’re lying if you stutter but you can’t help stuttering.
True

Blake also my parents are Haitian and some Haitians stutter when they are born so it could be passed onto in your genes like me i stutter
probably they are idiots , how can you speak in 100% accurate way when you are alone ? if genes are causing us the problem then we shouldn't be able to talk at all. Thanks
True I totally agree
Take care.
I used to stutter a lot but it stopped after few years or I rarely stutter
How did you do it?

I am a lifelong stutterer that had mostly had it under control by age 36, but recently after having brain surgery it has returned. I have to remind myself of the techniques that I've relied on. The one tool that this most helpful is using a Brittish accent. I don't know why that is a cureall exactly, but I believe it to be the fact that there are more easy-onsets to the words and a softer mouth actions. I know this won't work for people of the UK that are also stutterers, but it works for me.
I was once a stutter, but I overcome my fears & pressure.... Just think like a soldier & don't care anybodys face... It will just stop

Relatable.
Confidence and slow speaking and right words
I have a similar story, but thankfully all that changed thanks to a book by Lee Lovett, entitled How to Stop Stuttering and Love Speaking. Immerse yourself in his methods and program and you’ll see improvement. Take it from me who battled with stuttering for 15 years.
it isn't just genetics that causes it The rest of my Family does not stutter I am the only one who does. However, I do have minor stuttering. So that makes me believe that the people that are effected by stuttering that came from genetics have more severe stuttering.
Listening to it makes me so uncomfortable Jesus
