3D Printed Robocop Suit - Wearing the Suit for Halloween 2021

- Halloween has finally come and I finally got to wear the suit for the first time in public. I got to work out a lot of the problems and kinks I had since previously wearing it in my demo video. I have to say it was an absolute blast wearing it! I thought the kids would be more excited to see the suit but most of the young kids and even low teens were more scared then anything but I had a few people excited and paid there homage to Robo.
I wore the suit for about 2 and a half hours and it was pretty rough but my joy and excitement of my dream being realized gave me strength to carry on. All the sound fx are live sound. Having the sound fx work the way I attended with actual movie sounds was a dream come true also. I don't think it's ever been pulled off before so it made the experience that more real and exciting.

I would have passed out if i saw Robocop on halloween back when i was a kid. It was and still is my favorite perfect movie. This is so cool!

The SOUNDS of Robocop are a big part of what makes the whole thing convincing. The hydraulics and actuators (or what they sound like as added post-production) in the movie are about 1/3 of what "sells" Robocop to the audience. (The other two thirds is Peter Weller's performance, of course). The fact that you went to the effort to include those sounds as part of the suit is just amazing commitment!

This is the best suit someone has made it looks exactly like the suit especially the shine and the blue and purple

Absolutely amazing job with this suit man! So cool. I was 14 years old when Robocop came out and couldn't stop talking about it for months after I saw it. To this day it's still one of my favorite movies and I'm still impressed with every aspect of it.

HEY CHRIS...I SAW ROBOCOP 1987 and was mesmerized by Rob Bottin's incredible suit that totally sold the idea of a cyborg cop. I have dreamed of wearing one for all these years. I've seen crappy "made in ..." suits, masks, etc.. and been disappointed. Even cosplay, homemade suits on convention vlogs were "that's pretty good for being put together with junk!" suits! THEN-TODAY, I see your 3D printed suit and I can't believe it!!!! What a mind-blowing suit, right out of the first movie! I actually whispered "Murphy, it's you!" I am subbed,liked and studying your vlogs as we speak. I can't make one, but watching is good enough for me. You are the man. But, without such an awesome wife, you couldn't have done it. She is a keeper, top drawer.( That means the "best"). Thanks for making such a life changing vlog.
Hey Bobby don't sell yourself short if I can build one anyone can. I think a lot of the kids being scared of the suit is a testimony to how ahead of his time Rob Bottin was. He created a robot cyborg that even with how desensitized kids are today that 30 years later they are scared of it. Thank you for your awesome comment I do this channel for guys like you and enjoy sharing my excitement hoping others get some inspiration to take on projects like this. What a creative talent. Thats just a killer talent u have to make such an intricate costume with all of its pieces. Im a cosplayer, and im not gonna lie. You could make some MAD money for this and any other costumes you build. Just amazing.

Yeah I sold my Hansing years ago also because I was disappointed with the quality. This suit is much better detailed and looks more like the movie then Hansings suit. You should 3D print one and build it. You'll have no regrets when you finish! Thanks for the comment.

Ive always wanted a suit of my own but nothing was offered. Someday maybe? Great job! One of my idols as a kid.
Yeah the guy that had a monopoly on the Robocop suits for the longest was Bruce Hansing but he's no longer around and his suit was not the best quality but it looked the part. With 3D printing being so affordable and user friendly you could definitely make your dream come true man! It would be a lot more inexpensive building one yourself. Thanks for the comment.

Great costume man, as an 80's kid I appreciate the work you did to make this look authentic. Those kids just didn't know. If 3d print Iron man for next year or the year afterwards, I'm sure they love to take pictures with you though.

It's Dick Jones! Remember the cheesy 1994 Robocop TV show starring Richard Eden? Paul Verhoeven did a good job directing Robocop(1987). I was grossed out and livid after watching Spetters(1980).

All that work for clueless people and scared little kids. It's crazy. That's the best amateur suit I've ever seen. I made a quick Mike Myers Lifesize statue and kids were scared or complained about it. The magic is gone unfortunately
It's ok it still was an fun time, scaring kids is quite enjoyable haha. I just went to Big Texas Comic Con this weekend with the suit and it made up for everything and was an amazing time!
