Hi I'm just a person who's really interested about learning about Tourettes and tics, I know what vocal and motor tics are but not phonic. Could you please explain?
Anna Klingensmith Hello! Thanks for asking. Phonic tics are tics that include grunting, throat clearing, coughing, groaning, and sniffing. In my case, I have sniffing and throat clearing.
@@xun1447 Oh! Well I usually distract myself from thinking bout my tics. If I don't think or hear a trigger, I will most likely be fine. But of course this varies between people 💕
You're brave to take the public transport, instead of just avoiding it, like many would do. If it's any comfort, I think that most people have some idea what tourettes is like, and understands that that's what's going on when they observe this? But I'm not sure, haven't seen any statistics on that.
My friend is like that and sometimes when we are in public she’ll get a thing and I’ll pretend like it’s our secret language so ppl don’t think she’s strange
One of my classmates has Tourette’s, one day his tics set off and the teacher asked him to stop. He tried to explain but instead of understanding, the teacher asked him to leave the class.
Best friend has the tics and she yelled in her sleep “You took my VIRGINITY!!” I got up and looked everywhere and she then screamed “She took it!!” Her dad looked at me and I ran out with my bag and slept on their couch...embarrassing...
I have a whistle and It's not as cute as you think It Is. Some people think I'm catcalling them when I do It, and I do It when my parents are sleeping. 😂
My friend used to have a tic where she dropped anything she was holding threw her hands up in the air and just screamed. It was really bad for her but we just had to surround her so that she didn’t see anything that triggered her. a man tried to ‘save her’ from us abducting her? It was crazy.
I don’t have tourettes but my friend does and one of the most hilarious thing she accidentally said was when we were at a Walmart and as a random lady walked by she looked directly at them and yelled “fu%$ing idiot” it was so funny and the lady looked at her and was like “that’s not very nice”
I have a friend who litterally has a tic where he will do this certain hand motion and go woo t*tt*es. I know it sounds fake, but he laughs at it cause he thinks its strange as well. People always say to him that having tics must be fun, but he says they are extremely annoying especially in quiet classes at school. Thank gosh his tics arent usually very frequent.
People that say things like "having tics must be fun" never have any idea what they're talking about. Yeah, its great fun to smack your hand off the wall cuz, even though you know better, you stood too close. Ok, that might be a little specific.
My tics are luckily quite infrequent but when they happen, they come like constantly. They’re sometimes painful and when people stare at you, you just feel ashamed. I say people can laugh with me because it makes it less awkward but if I don’t react to a tic, then please don’t.
I'm laughing because a friend of mine who's also a guy, always would say "t*tties" as a response to when he thought something was good/cool/positive. I haven't been able to stop saying it for 3yrs now because of him. I'll just be watching TV or making food and randomly say it lol.
@Bluebells yeah! Anything you're exposed to can become a tic! Normally I pick up physical movement tics tho (ex. tapping my wrist together or hitting my leg with something I'm holding) because I dont do many verbal tics
You're NOT the person people warn their kids about. I would ask if my son and could sit with you. I find sometimes feeling like you're with a group makes you feel less vulnerable. He's 8 and he might ask questions, but ... I'd rather offer some company so you might feel a little safer. Idk if that's socially acceptable, but... I'm not good at knowing what's socially acceptable. Lol
Aww you're not the person parents warn their children about! You're the kind of person that people should be hanging out with because you're kind and you keep positive😌
Yeah the other day some mum went “keep away from the smokers” to her kid about me and my friends when we weren’t even smoking at the time. Like it used to be “keep away from the lovely young ladies, dear” where did that go? Ahahah
My mom has tics and when people stair at her I'm like WHAT ARE U LOOKING AT and then they turns around.I never let someone put a finger on my mom or let people make fun of her.
I felt that when you said "and kids are coming" Whenever I have tics in public kids stare at me as if I'm scaring them. Most of the time it's funny, but sometimes I just feel alienated. It sucks, lol
Omg your so beautiful, my worst tic is yelping “billie” and “my moms a whore” and they just started like 5 months ago, my mom doesn’t believe me and she yelled at me for saying it today. Sadly my parents won’t let me go to the doctors rn bc of corona. Edit: literally just minutes ago I kept saying this one in public “I just stole!!” Lol someone kill me now
i know a girl with a roaring scottish accents and one of her tics was pointing at people and yelling "GO AWAY YOU FATTY" in a really posh english accent
I feel bad for laughing at some of these Bc my autism gives me tics sometimes ik that might sound weird but it’s true there tics where I move my body randomly like fast and then it’s like nothing happend or there was one time where when I watch Sam and Colby they were doing this ice strip challenge and Colby say EEEEEEE and now I’ll go around and even when we had school just randomly EEEEEEE and I get the weirdest looks and I hate it
Spooky_Lettuce i have both ADHD and autism and though most of the tics i get i notice myself they are all stims in my case.. however there is one that i often scare myself with as sometimes when i breathe out i will involuntarily make noise wich is usually a groan or moan.. i usually jump whenever it happens because i won’t expect a sound yet one just comes out.. 😂 i did have a girl and a guy with tourettes in my exam year though.. now the guy has silent tics like slapping his knee over and over where as the girl actually said things.. so you’d be in an exam it would be quiet and all of a sudden you just hear a girl shout PORK N BEANSS 😂 after that they put her away from everyone cuz i fell out of my chair laughing
Everyone’s talking about their worst tics so let’s bring this up- You know that thing where you could literally be doing NOTHING- reading a book, watching TV, doing a test and all of a sudden your brain is just like *SMACK* And now you’ve hit yourself and you’re just like “oh well that’s lovely”- if you’re in public you just have to pretend like it didn’t happen and if someone asks it’s like “pfffff whaaaat??”
I can’t even imagine the anxiety you must feel in public settings for something you can’t control. I like that you can still be sarcastic and humorous about it tho. Idk why this popped up right now but I’m sure your videos are great for people with Tourette’s and I love seeing people represent smaller communities on here :)
I went to the description first to read it (before you talked about the Kuh-Kuh-Kuh tic.) So I read it as Kay-Kay-Kay (KKK) and I was like, "A child is saying that uncontrollably Oh god." Edit: thanks for the likes :3

I don't have tourettes but I get tics form anxiety. One of them is "PEEPEE POOPOO" and it's absolutely amazing.
Same mine is hello and I wave
@@nice_cock1017 that can be a tic?!😳
yeah i tic from anxiety sometimes and mine “mmuph” and rolling my tongue
Sometimes when I get really anxious I do tics and my funniest one is just repeating, I’m gonna die, or we shall die....
You can get tics from anxiety? If it’s not from Tourette’s then is that even considered a tic? Genuine question.
i got diagnosed with tics by a neurologist and i am so miserable. i have vocal, phonic, and motor. its difficult, but when i watch your videos i stop ticcing? and i tic 24/7. tysm for being an inspiration.
@@butthole5434 thanks!
Because you’re distracted by the video so your tics don’t set off

You're brave to take the public transport, instead of just avoiding it, like many would do.
If it's any comfort, I think that most people have some idea what tourettes is like, and understands that that's what's going on when they observe this? But I'm not sure, haven't seen any statistics on that.
hermanessences what do you mean most people know what Tourette’s is like ?

I agree with them. I think that many people know that you aren't doing It on purpose.

One of my classmates has Tourette’s, one day his tics set off and the teacher asked him to stop. He tried to explain but instead of understanding, the teacher asked him to leave the class.

She doesn't have the "kuh kuh kuh" there was a boy and they were mimicking eachother's tics. His was the "kuh kuh kuh" and her's was the whistle
one of my verbal tics is me yelling "CHICKEN CHICKEN CHICKEN WINGS"

I have a whistle and It's not as cute as you think It Is. Some people think I'm catcalling them when I do It, and I do It when my parents are sleeping. 😂
My friend used to have a tic where she dropped anything she was holding threw her hands up in the air and just screamed. It was really bad for her but we just had to surround her so that she didn’t see anything that triggered her. a man tried to ‘save her’ from us abducting her? It was crazy.
Omg wth lol ...
That’s just sad
Nooo the man tried to save her?? 😭😭😭
i also have a "ck" sounding one and it was just going off with her and i felt like how two birds call back and forth LMAOSHJDK
I don’t have tourettes but my friend does and one of the most hilarious thing she accidentally said was when we were at a Walmart and as a random lady walked by she looked directly at them and yelled “fu%$ing idiot” it was so funny and the lady looked at her and was like “that’s not very nice”

@@stvrmaann thats so cool, ive been trying to learn how to whistle for years and my whole family knows how to do it but me XD

@Bluebells yh I got chicken from someone 😂
my twin has a tick that goes like "aneurism on my ticklehole" and slight variatons. we always laugh about that one together
I got so confused watching this, the entire time I was just thinking “WHERES HER MASK??? WHERES HER MASK?”

Lol
