- In this video I take the T7 around the same 24km loop that I took the 690 on in Part 1. Can the intrepid Joshmeister wrangle the big t-bird around as quick as the 690? Will there be much difference in the times? Watch till the end to find out! Check out genuine Komine breathable rainwear here: www.zarkie.com...

I reckon you nailed it, as long as you can fit on the bike, your riding skill pretty much determines where and how you ride adventure bikes. People talk about manufacturers building the unicorn bike but really, its about becoming the unicorn rider for the riding you want to do. No bike is going to make someone a Chris Birch or Pol Tarres.
Yeah that's it, pick the bike that does best what you wanna do with it, none is ever gonna be great at everything. Cheers 🍻
The sound on the T7! You could listen to that all day 😎Nice video👌
Yeah it's got that note 😍😍
Giddy up T7! made an awesome showing, the 690 looked more at home in the bush, but the T7 is no slouch! good comparison!
Thank you sir 🍻
that was enjoyable to watch you pushing that T7 through that course. its great with the 3 perspectives showing some body positioning!
Like I always say, it's a lesson in what not to do haha 😅 cheers mate.
Excellent video Josh...great to see the mighty T7 holding it's own! And it sounds great 👍. Hope alls good with you. Cheers, Steve
Cheers Steve, steady as she goes mate 👊🤘
Black Betty gave her all, was up against some stiff opposition, in the end it sure was a close call over that distance. Well done mate. Enjoyed the shootout.
Thanks Pete! Appreciate the comment mate 🍻
Great stuff Josh , gotta make this a tag track , get other guys to do it on different bikes , Old Man speed on his Harley would be interesting and your mate who has the KTM 1290. Keep up the great work love your vids
I thought about that, but unless ya knew the area you'd have to ride the loop a dozen times before ya could reliably remember where to turn haha unless I put up signposts or something 😅 Cheers man
only seconds in it! super surprised by that. Well done to you in achieving that when riding the T7 second
Cheers mate yeah the big twin is definitely capable 👌
Closer than I thought it would be. Shows the T7 can hold its own, up against a more suitable opponent. Well done Josh & bikes….👏👏👏
T7 did very well, even with a gumby at the helm. Thank you sir 💪
Did not think it was going to finish up like that. Interesting. 🤔 but halfway through part 2. I did have a feeling as you were sending the T7. Just slower on the tight corners
Not much in it 😎
Go the T7, love that sound 👍
💪💪
Great content. I ride my KTM 500 and 890S at about the same pace of 51 kmph on dual sport rides. Not a fast pace at all but I am not a racer and try to avoid getting injured.
Yeah I'm much the same mate, I like to push it now and then but most of the time I want to make it home safe and be able to ride again tomorrow 🤘
Nice rip around the track with the T7 🤘🏼
Cheers bro 🙏
11:46 nice one josh
Awesome Josh, but the T7 sounded better! 😁😎👍
No doubt about that 😎
Nice comparison, T7 video editing made the video more engaging. As the video was drawing to a close I started to wonder if you were faster on the T7, seemed a bit faster from where I sat. As you say though, hard to compare especially with the time that passed between each vid. Good laugh none the less 👍🏼 Can’t beat the T7 for laughs off road even if the smaller bikes are more capable
Yeah should have thought to bring more cameras when I did the 690 loop, ah well amateur RUclipsr over here 🙈 cheers
As much as I like the orange blossom I've got a soft spot for Black Betty, genuine original. Spiders still hanging around in March, what saucery is that 😮
Solid hit out mate thanks for bringing us along . Cheers🍻
Still in April even, cunts 😭 Weather's cooling down now that'll sort em out 👊 Cheers mate
Hello Josh! Thanks on this comparison video. Not much difference between the bike, However I would say the T7 is excellent on the long tour or camping tours...there is a difference in handling and fun factor of each bike; The Rear Camera was great! Its a learning tool on seating, standing and body positions as you handled the bike on the various tracks, well done. David....Adelaide....Triumph Scrambler 1200X ....one bike for all...
Muchas gracias señor David 🍻
I thought the time difference would be a little more, just shows how capable a T7 is! Hey have you heard Juddy started a drone recovery business? If you like I can word him up to go get your one out of that tree, mates rates.
Haha yeah I did see Juddy's valiant efforts. He was lucky his got stuck so close to ladders and other tools 😅 Cheers G
17:32 don't forget short cut through the quarry 👋🤠👍
I 'membered 😉
Impressive my friend, you could probably take 2min off your time if you were on my 990lol 😊. As always good stuff Josh
😅 990 flies thru the air aye, no need for trails haha, cheers Ian
Sick run. Giddyup. Makes me wonder what the difference would be with suspension in the t bird. Just got mine done after three years on the stock stuff. Night and day. I can jump it and hit erosion mounds hard now compared to before. Keep ripping, brother. Cheers
Still a heavy bike tho ya never gonna be able to launch it like a 690 or enduro bike. Although Pol Tarres 🤔 haha cheers bro
You ain’t kidding. It’s definitely not the same. I gotta tell you, though. I’m shocked. Absolutely shocked at how good this thing is now. Rally raid open cartridge forks with k tech valving and spring in the rear. If you ever get a chance to get on one that’s been done, do it. It blows my mind what I can do now. Took a two foot drop on it recently with no bottoming out. Thank again, Josh! Later, brother.
@@zaphodbeeblebrox3153 nice mate sounds mint 😎🍻
You say you are not fast... but you are much faster than me! 😀
I dunno about that Pete I think we might have to race. Loser buys the beers 🍻🍻
@@MVDBR haha... sounds like the beers are on me! 🤣
Hey Josh well done that man, How are those Forma boots holding up m8, i have a pair the same, seem to be doing ok up to now, but they don't get the workout like yours ? Weather's been rubbish here to, ATB Wayne UK....
Mate I've got zero complaints with the Formas so far, I never even really think about them which is a good thing. Nothings broken or fallen off, they still seem very (not 100%) waterproof, and still super comfy. Cheers 🍻
Put Juddy on the 690 and race him on the T7
😅
Good vid josh old t7 goes good , geez itd be close with less jarry erosion mounds . World raid would give it a run . That wet weather gear handy atm 😅
Not kidding mate! Couple days of sunshine this week bloody loving it 😎👌
Wonderful! I sold my 14 690 for the T7! No regrets, couldn't store them both. From Connecticut (the 3rd leading tax state) U.S.A. :)
Yeah sadly I think I'm going to have to part with one of these soon 😭
@@MVDBR I'm never parting with my T7! Spent years building it.
I sold the 690 MAINLY due to the time input, reliability and need to carry rocker arms as a maintenance item. I was concerned about crossing state lines here. Looking back, it was the right decision. One day (57 now) when I'm much older and maybe can't handle the T7 THEN I"ll downsize to a much more reliable bike. Just my 2 cents. Cheers.
When’s the t9s turn Josh? 😅
🤓🍿📺
Yeah boiiii 😎👊
The Mighty T-7. Badass growler of a bike!
I'm really considering trading my 890 Adventure S for a T-7. Unfortunately my local dealer doesn't take trades and I don't want to go through the process of selling locally.
Man, as good as they sound I reckon you'd miss the power of the 890!
21:51 see ya josh take care mate 👋🤠👍
Hooroo 😎
Josh, you mentioned moving around some components -- there are people out there who take the CB500X drivetrain and put it into a CRF300L frame, then end up with an off road capable (yet highway capable) lightweight twin. Honda of course have no interest in producing such a bike.
CRF500L looks like a great bike. I think that not having the motor quite centered in the frame could be a little bit annoying though. It would be awesome if Honda would pick it up and produce it. Would love a 270* crank too for the snarl. Maybe I should start a petition and send it in to Honda R&D or something.
Also search for "CP2 wr450 advrider" one hero built a very cool bike... It sounds like a Tenere 700 motor+ frame should weigh about 50 lb more than a WR 450F motor and frame. So in theory, a very stripped down T7 build could weigh in the mid 300 lb range.
IIRC the lightest T7 race bikes so far are around 390 lb. 30 lb more than a new stock 690 enduro with gas in it.
At the other end of the scale Yamaha really should be trying to make a Tenere 900 with that CP3 donk, but then JD would be out of a job hehe
AND, what bike would you prefer to ride from there, to your house?
Hmm could go 50/50 on that, it's only 30 minutes. T7 is more comfy but sometimes I feel like riding home on the back wheel 🤔
I reckon now load both bikes up with camping gear and do 100km each way transport.... i too like to trail ride the T7 in the bush.. but these tracks are more 690 "trail bike" design brief than T7 Adventure bike design brief
To be fair, at least 50% of this loop was flat dirt roads, I just cut most of that out of the edit because it's a bit boring to ride and definitely boring to watch on YT 😁 Which is why I'm enjoying the 690 spec trails more these days 🤷♂
0:27 hey Joshua how's tree 👋🤠👍
U2 can be a funny crunt 😎
Go Black Betty!
💪💪
Fuckn mnt mate
🍃🍃
I could see you were more tired on the T7 towards the end, paying attention to your corners etc and the wider berth. I think the 690 would be less work for same time etc
Oh yeah definitely harder work on the big bike man 🍻
