    You bloody ripper, Curtis.
    This is what it's all about.
    The very fact you stopped for self-reflection and felt guilty about the activity is indication enough you're not being selfish.

      I call it therapy, where else can we disconnect from the digital world and the relentless responsibilities that we and society impose on us. I feel it every time I get away on the bike, whether it be bush or roads or both, and every time I say to myself, wow, why did I wait so long since my last ride, I really needed this.

    • @SomewhereInside

      Great to see at least one you tube channel promoting high visibility bike clothing .
      Last week was almost collected by a older female car driver , she sat at an intersection in Pottsville , it was a 50 zone , I was doing 45 , so when I was within 5m of the intersection she zooms across the intersection , I luckily have been practicing emergency braking , and didnt grab but squeezed the front and rear brake ….the menace stopped and I just got past her bumper after swerving .
      The point is I had put my black wet weather gear on I have a black helmet also , will be shopping for a reflective wet gear jacket and next helmet will be a light colour .
      Great video do you think the Tiger is streets ahead of your 800DE or just slightly ?
      The Suzuki appears to be dropping in price at some dealers .

    One tip if i may suggest....if your boots are wet but you start the day with dry socks....get 2 plastic bags, 1 each foot, nice clean socks, bag over socks, boots straight on. Vuola, dry feet through water crossings. The longer the bags, the better. Not a fashion statement, but dry socks.

    I really hope that one day I can afford to come to Australia and ride an adventure bike there. All the videos I see from guys like you, Adam or MADTV, they are just the best advertising anyone could do 😁. Don´t get me wrong. That place u stopped to chat was glenrock station before moonan flats i reckon the house in the distance i reckon we stayed in while mustering or fencing on that property. Great riding all thru there beautiful country and scenery seen many anbike or 4wd come unstuck in the river crossing. You might think adventure riding is selfish but sometimes u just need to do something for yourself and clear your mind riding does this. As long as your partner gets a break to i dont see a problem. I'm really interested in bumping up from my T7 to something in that tiger 1200 class. That T7 kills me on multi day trips compared to the africa twin which I stopped riding when the forks bit the dust. Maybe I should just spend the money for the new forks. Anyway thanks for the excellent series.

    Just booked a room at Tenterfield for the first leg south, heading off tomorrow. Then down through Nowendoc Rd to Mt George then up into Knorrit Forest. To hang with my brother for a week or so. Then off exploring for another week or two.
    Great country, staying away from wet weather until I change tires, need to do a few k on these factory tires first, so no mud for me.
    How old is this ride ? Must have been in the last week or so.
    Cool, Nundal & it's local is on my list, might try to pick it up on the way back north. I hate cold weather. They're breading up, it seems, rain = feed = Roos. Don't hit one. I better remember tomorrow to go easy myself. Last thing I need as I get used to this new ride. Carrying extended camping gear, so I'm loaded up. I keep finding shit I haven't packed, weekend camping is so much easier.
    25:00 now you're describing me. 🙃
    So funny, doing the creek, I thought you might redo a crossing or two, nice. 📽 Have you chewed the rear already, this is why 40-50 hp is optimal.
    I think I have seen that track with so many crossing before. Might have to find it, Classic 👍
    Now you're heading towards my home country, enjoying it, I see. It's changed since I was last there. A good reason to visit again. Fuk man you're getting cheeky now, still watching, don't lose it.
    30.02 Classic. I will have to revisit, I'm jealous. Do you remember where that was ? What a great place to ride, Gods country, and we can visit, how cool is that.
    Great price for that last room, hook us up with a name, so I can put it on the list if I get close.
    Cheers, great ride Curtis, I enjoyed watching 😊

    • @onthebackwheel
      @onthebackwheel  2 месяца назад

      Oh I probably won't do a video specifically on that, but I can comment here. The 800de with the deals going on ATM is incredible value, it's my budget pick for sure. You can do some minor mods and just go. The 1200 is a much better bike, but it's twice the price and it's electronics can be annoying. In saying that, there is no replacement for power and the overall ability of it. My advice, if you're just getting into ADV riding, get the 800de or something lighter

    • @notgamingwithmax
      @notgamingwithmax 2 месяца назад

      @@onthebackwheel Thanks, I have the 800DE adventure. I bought it partly because of your channel and my test ride earlier this year. But, I mainly ride two strokes a lot on sandy singletrack. I love those bikes! The 800DE is actually my 2nd adventure bike. I picked up a used Himalayan last year and really liked it. I did my first shakedown ride a few weeks back on the 800 and attempted the TWAT in Wisconsin but had some credit card issues after a few stages and had to turn around. I got a good feel for it and what my load should be. I just installed the cruise and plan to take it on another ride this week to Michigan. We'll see how it goes. I wish I wasn't so far from all the fun stuff. But thanks for the videos, I really like to see you take on the harder stuff with the bigger bikes. If Royal Enfield makes the scrambler 650 you should test that one out. I have the Interceptor and it's a fun bike. A scrambler 650 version would make for some good content.
