I just worked out your fuel price. £0.82 for a Litre of PREMIUM petrol. It's literally double that, for the regular stuff here in the UK.

And that price was at the more expensive garage. The cheaper one was £0.73 for the premium. Madness lol
I love road tripping my MIata, it's the whole reason I bought another NC. I usually do at least 2k mile trips every summer. I previously took a 3200 mile road trip through Utah in my last NC, and I am really looking forward to being able to take a trip in my new car.
Honestly? I was hooked from minute 1. Don't ever tell you can't take a Miata on a road trip. Story telling, panning shots and a goal to drive to with the car being the real star. It's the most beautiful Miata too, the NC is vastly underrated. Beautiful piece of video!
One can absolutely road trip a Miata. I started on a 900-mile road/destination trip (to Mystic Seaport) with a wife that tends to pack heavy. I just flat told her at the onset to take what she would ACTUALLY wear and her hygiene necessities. We meandered scenic routes on our way back home. Total trip was a little over 2K miles with ZERO issues.
My wife learned she doesn't need ten sets of clothes (that she will never wear to begin with) to take a simple trip. She's not totally cured of that overpacking mindset, but she does pack WAY less for trips than she used to. Every time she starts to "backslide" I remind her of our Miata trip.
Hilarious! My Wife & I road trip my v. heavily modded MX5 regularly. A few years back we (UK based) took a three and a half European road trip. All packed up for two and then covered over 4k miles. The '5 was amazing, the trip memorable. Packed with care & an element of precision you could go two away for a month, you just have to actually wash some clothes using local facilities all the way. Oh and 4 weeks + with never a top up day. Brilliant on back roads and highways.
Got to say though, no ear buds or blocked passenger seat. Love my safety and life. MPG on a 300bhp NC average 37 UK mpg, peaked at 47 mpg.
In short we find the MX a great road trip car. Plenty more to come we hope.

Love my Miata. Living in NY, it’s funny to hear people comment on the humidity. Took a trip with my daughter to check out Boulder’s campus, and she no joke crossed it off of her list because it was too sunny and dry. She wants at least 180 days of clouds per year. Funny kid.

Good stuff! Did a trip like this last year when flights were crazy. Packed to the brim and even stored items in the "storage" behind the head rests :D .....it meant I couldn't put the top-down as easily, but I was on a mission haha

The black miata with charcoal grey and silver dash came with the 900,000 special edition Kendo. Normally has the bubble stickers on the wing.
Awesome story, trip and adventure. Landed in Toronto in 1996 from good old Blighty ( Uk ) with a best mate to travel and two days later we had a 4x4 owned by a stunt guy who worked for Due South and drove across the states to L.A to deliver it, it was just brilliant, so many memories to cherish. Have owned two MX5’s first addition and second and then a mini cooper s convertible but miss the mazda so need to buy another, to start some more adventures. Awesome video 👍

I can't believe that I watched this whole video. Almost fell asleep in Kansas! As an NC owner my butt was hurting just thinking about all those miles driving. I was glad to see that you got a gel seat cushion. I had to add a memory foam pad to my seat because of my bony butt! Your buddy Jeff lives in a mansion and I'm surprised that he only has a Miata. The worse part of road trips is the long boring rides on the interstates. The byways are the most interesting, but it takes forever to get anywhere. That burger and fries sure looked good. After I get something to eat,I'll have to watch part two. You guys did a great job.
Hah that’s actually his dad’s house. But I know very wealthy people with Miata’s. Even Christian Von Koenigsegg has one! Thanks for the comment. Hoping to get part 2 done at some point, it’s just a ton of work to edit and hard to justify doing over my other jobs that actually pay :D

Just started watching this and it looks amazing, it’s kinda nice because I’m looking into buying an nc, and I also have a ronin sc so I can use the case as a reference for how things will fit, I’m looking forward to watching all of it
Edit: as I keep watching, this inspires me so much, I’m a filmmaker and photographer who also loves cars, and this just makes me want to go out and film a road trip with my friends and take tons of photos
Ayyy i live in Northern VA right outside of DC. if you get the chance you should stop by tysons corner mall on a saturday and park on the top level of that garage. there are always supras, lambos, porches, old 86s and a whole rack of other awesome cars. the food in the mall is great too!
I too just got a miata recently NC and have been loving it man, i saw your video about ghosty and the story you told about driving that home without really being familiar with a manual car helped me pull the trigger on finally learning manual for my miata. cant imagine it any other way now
My NC1 manual does not have that fuel fill-up issue. My former NB1 used to have to be fueled with the gas nozzle in line with the direction of the car’s travel, which is perpendicular to what you would think you would do.

I use the AirPods Pro with noise cancelling and it’s really great! You do have to be aware that there are some laws in certain places that outlaw having headphones in, though I’ve never had any issues. I find it somewhat ironic anyways, since earplugs are legal.
Great vid. I saw your guitar or maybe bass, I was wondering, do you think a not too big acoustic guitar in a gigbag fits in the trunk?
Which acoustic specifically? I have a Taylor “Big Baby” acoustic that does fit with the gig bag. Benefit of NC trunk is being considerably wider than ND trunk. But not sure a full size acoustic would, I haven’t tested much

Come on jellyfish you can certainly road trip a Mazda NC many times have I cracked off 500 miles off the two Lane roads enjoying myself off the interstate with an NC

I think it's the 1.5" thick Purple seat cushion. They have a few options!

gas issue is your canister vent valve went bad. shouldnt be a hard fix
