Thank you so so much, I can't believe it's here - I'm terrified! Yeah it's such a small time we get to shadow another member of staff, just 2 weeks and then it's all on me 😭 imposter syndrome is legit making me feel sick 😓 yeah, the new things have made me happy, especially the scrub jacket 😍 Thank you, you have no idea what that means to me 😭 we miss him terribly, but yes he will always be with us and Arnie is our little light ❤

Absolutely lovinggggg your vlogs! I've just started year 2 (adult) and have just last week been assigned two essays so finding it all a bit overwhelming at the mo! However, your vids are so motivating! :))

Hi Faye, I'm MH nurse in UK, don't worry you will always be on shift with another nurse, one does meds and one shift coordinator. You won't be left until you are signed off your preceptorship. Xx

Thank you 🥲❤ I k ow physically I won't be alone, but after 2 weeks it's on me an my PIN for every thing and that terrifies me 😓 obviously my PIN is immediately activated and responsible but during those first 2 weeks I won't be given full solo responsibilities etc and that's what terrifies me 😓 I just feel so incompetent and don't feel I can do it 😭❤

@@Faye.Louise22 what you are feeling is normal, you also have the added learning of working in secure services. You have worked so hard to get here and nurses you have worked with on placement have always been very impressed by you. You work very hard, a lot of nurses wouldn't even prep haha. It's very scary I know, but everyone knows youre newly qualified and don't throw responsibility on you, mental health is much more protective on staff than general nurses. We all look after each other and protect each other's mental health too. It feels like you are putting far too much pressure on yourself. You don't need to. You are fantastic and that is proven by your results and placement reviews. You can always say I will go and speak to other nurse on shift. And you can always say I don't feel competent yet! I said it a few times and they say okay. You will be signed off preceptorship when you are ready and it's joint decision, only then will you be working alone. You work alongside the qualified, they will show you how to do meds till you feel confident, and I can tell with a bit of reassurance and encouragement you will pick it up quickly as I can see how invested you are. I remember my first meds error! Honestly I felt sick and worthless and beat myself up for it. But every nurse has done one at some point. It's okay to make mistakes we are all learning as we go. You have waited so long for this moment Faye for your blues 💙. Enjoy the moment and be proud of how far you have come but please allow yourself to be human, make mistakes and say stupid things in meetings. But most of all take your time, you do not need to know everything from day one! From one nurse to another, you've got this 💙💙 x

Hi Laura 🥰 thank you so much that's so kind of you - I'm glad you're here 🥲 I have a video in my 'nursing school' playlist, the video is PHARMACOLOGY. In the video there is a section called 'valuable resources for studying' and in there I list all of the nursing books I use and recommend - even as a qualified nurse I still refer to them - that's how good I found them! Let me know what you think of them 😍❤
