New Ontech dac 08 technical review and sound comparison with Musical Fidelity v90 dac and Topping d90. Listened on 2 diy systems. Only dacs were changed in systems.
This is a supremely natural sounding DAC. I head it as having a mid-centric sound signature with an analogue, organic timbre. Bass is weighty and tight, tuneful. Treble very naturally airy, not analytical but still high resolution. It has a slower delivery of the music than most modern-sounding dacs, but this DAC gets right to the heart of every note and it has a bloomy nature that just sounds correct. This is as close to tube sound you can get without tubes.

Hi Eric. At moment i prefer this newontek and topping d90. I think i slightly prefer more newontek over d90. But dac08 is first expensive dac that i tested. This is near 4000 euro and i didn t tested any other dac above 700 euro.
@@ericelmore2742 you can have for demo in your system but i can assure you that the NewOntech won't let you down. It has a superb sound, soundstage and punch....separation and 3dimensionality
@@ericelmore2742 Hi. I have the Merason Frerot and NewOnTech DAC 08. The Merason is faster, more energetic and edgier. It is less natural, has less bass weight, less saturated midrange and more simplistic, 2D in sound. It is a brighter DAC where you always hear the treble first, with the midrange second and bass third. With the NewOnTech DAC08, you hear the very middle of the midrange first, bass second and treble third. It is a DAC that truly sets itself apart from the competition when you raise the volume, which is its strength. It's a very powerful sound, always extremely naturally airy treble with a great sense of weight to the music. The Merason Frerot is very good but as a whole it is indeed not as good and you can sense the extra level of performance in the NewOnTech.

This brand is new to me. I’m gonna be getting the new on tech DAC07. I’m trying to learn more about the company and its other products.

I was looking to buy newontek dac7. Deciding between newontek Dac 7, holo May spring 3 or merason frerot.

Which dac chip is best for you? Audio Note mostly use the AD1865 chip and say it is the best. What is your opinion?
