You did exactly the right thing when you discovered this POS. You kept the temperature down and protected your family. You need to keep that calm at the identity parade, and by doing so you continue to protect your loved ones. Children are enormously resilient, often more so when they have additional challenges and with your love and kindness will soon calm any residue from this experience. I hope that they will throw the book at him.
Oh Scott this is awful 😔 I'm so sorry you've been through this 😭😭😭 what an arsehole 😢 bless you and your family. Sending so much love ❤️❤️❤️🙏💕🌈🕊️🔥🕊️🔥🕊️🔥
This is everyones nightmare mate , you did the right thing mate , you never know the man in front of you , so glad your all safe , here if you need anything mate ❤
He isnt worth the time , your kids having their dad there as they grow up is more important then vengeance. Please try and sleep your head will feel more clear. Sending care and love to you and your family.
My heart goes out to you all! Such a violation of your home and family. Sounds like you handled the situation in the best way for you're family and despite him getting in, you did keep your family safe! Thoughts are with you all!
You are an amazingly brave and honest man , who clearly adores his family and who is righteously angry at what has happened. Your message and your emotions are real ans will change lives as they have ours. Thank you from Rhenn and mum xxx
I’m so sorry Scott, this is absolutely terrifying. I hope he receives an appropriate punishment and that your wife and children will begin to feel more comfortable very soon and also yourself too. It’s our natural instinct to want to protect our loved ones and in those situations where we can’t, it can make us feel very shaken and very critical of ourselves. I think it would’ve been easy for you to have lost it and attacked him but instead you made a conscious choice to put your family first and you should be very proud of that
Scott i can tell you are such a caring person you stopped every few minutes to say you want eveeyone else to check their doors and windows and no one else to go through this. You have all this trauma you and your family are going through and still wanted to help protect everyone else. Your family is lucky to have you and you will all get through this!
So glad everyone’s okay, at least physically. It’s traumatic having your home, safe place, invaded like that. Lots of love and best wishes for healing to you and your family. 🖤
Cricky Scott, you are 1 in a million mate. I don't think I would have been able to stay that calm. Keeping your family safe is a priority. Don't worry mate mate, he'll get what's coming to him. Don't take no shit for an apology, throw the book at him. Stay safe mate. Best regards. Jb.
Sorry to hear this mate, that's horrendous. Glad you're all safe. You've shown a hell of a lot of self control there for sure... not sure I could have done the same, but you definitely did the right thing for you and your family. Great thinking on telling the wee fella it was you in his room that night too. Try and keep your cool if/when you have to see that pos again for an id, so that you and your family can try to move on. Thinking of you all ❤
I’m so sorry you’ve all had to go through this. I can’t even imagine the trauma this must cause not just in the moment but the after affects. You reacted so well to finding him, I hope the ID process goes as smoothly as possible. I’m just gutted for you all. I hope the security being installed helps your wife at least a bit to catch up on sleep, you must all be knackered. I live in a block of flats with a gate to be able to access the block so I often take our security for granted but this has definitely made me think twice about being extra vigilant. Sending lots of love to you all!
This is such a shit situation to be put in. We were burgled this time last year, not to the degree of what you went through, luckily it was from the garage but it was the fact our private space and home area was broken into. I have 4 stepsons ranging from 9-15 with a mix of Autism and AuDHD and a young daughter who was 1 at the time. They stole a custom electric trike that had been modified for the eldest disabilities amongst other items. Because of my wife's and kids neurodivergence it deeply affected them. The following day locks were changed, new locks were added, the garage was turned into a fort so the main door would no longer open. Cameras were put in and super sensitive motion spots were installed. It took ages for the rest of the household to get over the intrusive thoughts whereas I was angry. Thinking about what happened if they got in the house with my daughter in her cot. It does eventually get better but as hard as it is with a neurodivergent household it takes a lot of work.
So sorry you and the family had to go through this, and well done for restraining yourself. I hope you and your family manage to find peace of mind soon ❤
Aww mate sorry this has happened to your family and hope you all get through this and heal. I know how it is to have an autistic child as my daughter is. Hope your child accepts you saying that it was you in the room and he carries on as normal. Sending big hugs to you and your family
You have done the right thing. Tough circumstances to deal with, this happened to us, but all ok, but the cops never caught the person. Love to you and your family.
Hi mate, I'm glad that you all are unhurt , I'm in Australia and we are getting alot off these scum bags around here doing this exact thing,,kind regards to you all best wishes..Anthony🙂
Sorry to hear this Scott n I hope the Judge give's him what for cos if you had got your hands on him I believe he would have been in front of a different Judge , you did the right thing by holding back .
Scott I’m So Very Sorry !!!! I’m praying for you & the family 🙏🏻 I keep two firearms in my bedroom for safety, pray I never have to use them. This was horrible to hear, may God help you all through this 🥲🥲🥲🥲
scott watching this am in tears with just seeing the emotion you have, this will take time for you and tara to process, the 2 younger kids will hopefully eventually forget but as a family try and have a few family days lots of love and laughter family nights. i get how you guys fee i was broken into twice in space of 2 weeks but back when i was 16 there wasnt double glazing, same people done it 2nd time my door went as a friend later told me and they stood behind the door pretending to be my brother. raising awarness is amazing. ill talk to you about some ideas i have that we can raise awarness, big love to you tara and kids💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Mate I get it, absolutely. You did the right thing. Without any doubt to stay calm and kick the shot out of him is the hardest thing to do. I admire your strength in that. Many of us would have been sat in a cell knowing that the wife and kids were even more worried. Change those locks bud, to be honest it does sound like he was stoned with concussion and in confusion went to an old address. It doesn't sound like he had malicious intent. That said it is still fucking scary and your wife and kids are lucky you had enough sense to not just steam in.

@ScottsInverts am glad its helped hun it's literally my worst nightmare that as a single parent with anxiety etc amd also having a don with asd adhd too hope your all on the up and justice is served x
So sorry this has happened to you Scott, you did good thinking like you did because you were thinking of your family and protecting them. You put the aggression to one side because all that mattered was your family. Glad he got caught, ugh. Such an awful thing to happen in your new home, thoughts and feelings to your Mrs and kids as they do their best to process this,, bless em. You're anger is complutely justified and valid, that must have been an awful thing to find out he'd been in the kids room. I'm sure you will be on edge for a while because it's going to take time for this to process emotionally and mentally. It's definitely good to talk and vent about it, that's a healthy way of processing it, best not to bottle anything up. Glad you're taking further precautions, better safe than sorry.
Wow buddy I'm glad everybody is okay! I had a similar episode with a delivery driver that walked into my home many years ago when my daughter was just a newborn and yes it takes you back and now you have all these emotions and you're angry but you're happy that nothing untoward happened but at the same time you want to punch something and you have different emotions of how it could have been different and am I good enough parent and yes I've been through it before and I can tell you as a single woman being there with a newborn it is frightening. Just thank God that everybody's okay and hope your son is doing all right. He'll most likely grow up and not remember this happening. Hopefully there's no long-lasting effects on him or the family, god bless from Chantal from Canada

Take care mate and don't blame yourselves, it's none of your fault.
