A mate of mine said once in a meeting 'swapping one drug for another is like swapping rooms in the titanic' and it's one of the best analogys I've ever heard.
Daniel you really have found your vocation in life. I’m 3.5 years sober now but this podcast is definitely part of my journey. Definitely not depressing either 👏
Great to have you back, Dan and to see you progressing well. I started my journey about a year ago, fell off, got back on, ell off, got back on, etc. So good to feel a bit of solidarity. Love being sober and recognise I might not always be, but that's OK too. Can't thank you enough mate for being there on my journey with me. Proud of ya, brother! Peace x
I’m the lad in the video, Thanks for meeting me Dan, we will definitely stay in touch anybody that is also struggling please don’t hesitate to reach out to me❤️ Lots of love Dan catch up soon 🙏
Really loved the topic of we are not our thoughts I heard a neuroscientist say our brains will believe the story of who we think we are so it's so important to become mindful of these thoughts and create a different story of who we are thanks Dan great to have you back you make a lot of sense
there is such a calm vibe going on with you in season 2 Dan. thank you so much for your content mate. 3 week sober n clean so really need this topic right now..❤
Been watching this podcast from the beginning. Glad it’s back, puts a lot of things into context for me. Had a rough week nearly said fuck it and caved. 6 months sober today. Day at a time.
Hiya Dapper, Loving the new series! Came to your show in Burnley a couple of weeks ago! Looking forward to catch up with this series (didn't realise it had restarted!). Love the clip with that guy, there's much more than just him I'm sure! Keep up the good work!
Big help this episode. I went just over a year sober and then told myself I didn't have a problem and let drink back in my life. How stupid I was but the journey starts again and these episodes really help
Im so glad this channel is back. Thank you 🙏 just making me feel im still human even as an addict. Waiting for help. Im an evening alcoholic and a bud smoker. Im trying, but it's not going great. I do have ADHD myself and feel mad at times 😅 your channel has awesome chats of real life. Im greatfull. You're doing amazing, Dan. I can't wait to see you at the norwich show 😁
I'm an expat in Spain, but started my journey back in the UK. So glad Dan's back on the M2S vibe. He's gonna go BIG, and I LOVE that his haters are all crying into their gruel...... stay strong guys and gals x
Glad you’re back, yesterday crossed 11months! So only be fitting that you’ll be one of the first I’ll share my 1yr off the sauce next month message with, as loved the videos and interviews, I even bought the Clare Pooley Sober Diaries book which was a great laugh reading! All the interviews were great! There is definitely very different types of drinkers so good you had such a wide variety of guests on to connect with people whose experience was more like theirs. I have a mate who quit 6months ago whose story was very different to mine as locked himself away with it all, very similar to Kirk but I was defo more in love with being out and social. Plus was a party boy in my time so loved seeing Brandon on as being from the old clubbing days (loved his Fantazia mixes etc), I do feel I’ve done the lot too! Keep it up, you’ve defo helped me and no doubt countless others! Big Up!
So glad your back dapper this podcast helped me get sober, I've recently had a drink man but I'm back on the wagon now hopefully I can do it again man, is there nay books or anything that helped you get sober?
😎it’s crazy I always think it’s just me with these thoughts especially on a Friday when all I want to do is get a beer down me, but the last few weeks I’ve arranged other things with my wife and kids and it’s been great. I’ve been out twice with friends and stayed sober and spoke to them the day after whilst there ruff and it’s been a top feeling that and I’m trying to bottle that feeling and remember that it feels great not being ruff and that outweighs the getting pissed 💯
Defo one of the most thought provoking podcasts yet , we are not our thoughts is so true! Also you meeting that man backstage just goes to show the effect your having. Brought back to me the podcast you and Kirk did when i was at one of my lowest points , it really does help change lives! Dont agree with any psychedelics being good for mental health due to past experience but each to their own! Onto next week 👌
I needed this wanted to watch it live but had plans with friends and I spent all night with my washing machine brain arguing with my self should I drink shouldn’t I drink…I didn’t and I’m 95 days sober today. I’ll be watching every week now to give me a boost thank you
Can understand you Dapper! I get silly thoughts throughout the day. And I often think about past events. However I acknowledge they are stupid and irrelevant. Day by day I keep pushing. Your videos help so much aswell❤️💪🏻keep up the good work.
Your so right about weed I used weed to get off packet ive now gone 20 days off weed and loving it been off packet for over 18 months don't even think of packet anymore
Totally agree about the replacing one addiction with another. Also really relate to everything you've said in this podcast and i'm seven and a half years clean.
💯 right in my opinion too.... if u replace one drug for another drug it's still escapism.. I agree what u say about the guy that's moved on to weed... one step at a time I guess 🤷
The scariest thing for me about being sober is the thought of relapsing, I try not to focus on it as it's not healthy, but the thought or fecking up scares me to the core. I got sober for the first time last year, I managed 3 months. I relapsed for 1yr, in and out of A&E with withdrawals, nearly dying from drinking so much, and then I managed to get sober again 113 days ago, and it's different this time, I thought the first time around I would never go back to drinking and then I did, so this time around knowing that I can relapse is better, but it's so scary. But life is very good, I'm happy, I'm healthy, my sons are happy and proud. I'm moving forward in life and doing good things. This podcast helps remind me that others are literally dealing with the exact same thought, mental isn't it.
Hi, I had that very same experience without the hospital, things went so so bad when I went back to drink. some times we need to see how bad it is till it gets better.
@@menacetosobrietypodcast ye was brilliant and ye long neck and ket woman 😂😂😂 gotta say mate your reply to her when she said what you do now you don’t drink was epic man, I will never forget that moment came straight from the heart never paused to think just a genuine beautiful response. God bless you Dan and thanks for the podcast changed my life and my family’s life
If you feel like you don’t have a problem with a substance or alcohol, stay away from it for a couple of weeks and you will soon realise just how hard it is and bam… the realisation that it is indeed a f’in problem! That’s where I am at right now. I find it insanely difficult for one week to become two

Thats from the rat poisen in the bag mate may take ages to get out your system .. Really is time to stop if thats happening its effecting your nervous system
What works for one may not work for the next in regards to smoking herb there’s now untold proven studies to deem it too have ample health benefits, in regards too it killing peoples Ambitions I think that’s more down to the person rather then the plant they smoke it’s been nothing but positive for me personally has helped me get off the nose bag for 6 months now have been more Creative and active and pain free from physical health issues I got going on..but again each to their own
Dan i love you but sorry you are completely wrong about cannabis and sobriety. Cannabis should stopped being looked at as being 'high' when it has been used medically around the world and in uk since 2018 which im using for my adhd epilepsy and depression legally and i am 2 years sober from 10 years of daily cocaine ketamine and benzo abuse. If you read it i stil love u dan 😂 i vape weed every mornin go boxin mma live a normal brilliant life the wildest of my dreams just going day to day with my natural medicine which is curing my alcoholism.
Also for instance somebody like stevo who was a crazy ragin drug addict smokes medical cannabis. The stigma does need stopped mate honestly. Itd maybe even be good for u dapper
@@treesagreen4511 Na mate I completely agree, its 100% better then coke and booze, just for me I don't want anything else ic an get addicted to and I don't want the escapism of feeling high, but I think its defo a positive thing if its changed your life for the good and you can function on it
