Love it 😍 I can’t suss out why the scooter hasn’t sold yet. Anyone buying pre-paid passes for train, bus, and crazy est of all taxi’s just for one month should sit down and work it out. No queuing, no traffic jams and transport 24/7 to hand , it’s lost on me
It sold on Sunday David. Someone called lateish in the evening. I wasn't going to let him view as it was later but in the end he was nice and the sale went through.
So nice to hear the CB running again! Those air filters tuck in just right under the panels. I guess the seat and tank will keep most of the rain out of any gaps any way above there won't they? Great job Charlie
Cheers Stu. I'm wondering if I lay a little material over them so that it stops rain going through the gap. But I'll get there in time.
@@motorcyclerescuer you'll soon get a feel for it once it's all up and running. Might not need anything at all! What about rubber matting cut into a strip but on the inside of the casing so it can't be seen?
Yeh that's exactly what I had in mind. Some sort of rubber flap just so the rain washes of it.
Awesome video mate cool how you did air filters coming along mate
Yeh I had to work them out but wanted them hidden. It should be ok. Time will tell I guess
Ideally you would benefit from protecting your paintwork on the frame. Acf50 type of thing.
Sounds good Charlie 👍
I've never used it before. Does it go solid or stay like a think oil Daniel?
@motorcycle rescuer it can leave a residue of slight stickyness, but even a light coating of duck oil would preserve it.
Personal choice, really, not a must, but it would benefit the bike.
Cheers Daniel I'll look into getting some. Worth every bit of protection. I may get a ceramic for the tank aswell to give it a little protection.
Cable operated callipers are pretty common on old bikes. One of my grandads old bikes had a drum and a caliper for some reason. One worked all the time. The other worked when the pedal went further than normal on a slacker cable. One incase the other failed I think as brakes weren't as reliable or efficient back then. Never seen it on any other bike. Only BMW cars rear brakes. The handbrake is a drum inside the brake disk.
His job in the army was pretty much teaching people how to fall off their bikes properly and how to dig the pegs in so slide a bike to a stop. He tried showing me once when he was older on our bultaco but it ended up chucking him off because it's nowhere near as heavy as his old matchless's 😂😂😂
The more you know!
I love hearing that! I remember watching an old training video on RUclips where despatch riders were ditching their bikes on the side and using them as cover to fire upon enemy. Such conditions those riders must have faced in the field.
I never knew anyone into bikes as a kid yet somehow took a liking to them from a very young age. Very weird.
@@deepspace_motorcycle that's exactly it 👍
@@motorcyclerescuer most of my neighbours had bikes. My first pillion was on an old norton that the guy restored from his dad's garage after he died. He was the same guy that let me ride their monkey bike with 4 gears and I was only 6 I think 😂 didn't tell me about brakes but I knew how to stop somehow 🤷🏻♂️
By putting your trainer on the back wheel lol.
The Honda SS 50s had the cable operated front brake like that Charlie ,same era, they werent very good though👍
These aren't very good. Very slow at stopping. I think a drum is more effective.
The same year cb550 has hydraulic and looks identical. I may Google if it would work
@@motorcyclerescuer Or a cb250 bound to be something compatible👍
well done Charlie
Cheers Lee. Sold that Piaggio tonight aswell so onwards and upwards
@@motorcyclerescuer That's good news Charlie. Must admit i do like the old skool bikes you do.
Yeh I do aswell but it's fairly new for me. I'm used to giving a bike a carb clean and a once over then moving on. It's nice to do a more in depth one though.
Nice 👌
Cheers Ant
Sounds sweet as. Nearly there now Charlie.
Close, just some fine tuning now
You're welcome any time mate as long as you don't bring Sultan 😂.
You can adopt Rabjab if you like.
Hi mate. Like you're video and because of you, I decided to buy a project for myself. And loving it. But I need to ask where I can get carburetor jets fro. Please
That's great, I'm really pleased. Many places on ebay sell jets, all you need to know is what size you want.
What's your project out of curiosity?
Also thanks for watching
when you said "it aint pretty but it's functional", were you talking about the bike or Rabjab? great to see the CB200 running again!
You are the first person to notice that Tim. It was a play on words lol. You got a good eye.
@@motorcyclerescuer thx! I love wordplays, that's probably why I spotted it
I do it alot on my vids with Rabjab but people rarely notice lol
Are they the original carbs? Did you have to do any tinkering or rejetting to get them to work with the pod filters?
They are original carbs yes but not for this bike. My bike came without carbs so I had to find these.
All you would have to do is up jet the main jets a little for the pods. I've not done that yet but will do once it's running a touch better. I need a proper fuel tap as I'm currently using a cb175 tap.
Thanks Jimmy
🏍👍👍
Cheers Stephen
