    It is a tight park for sure. We were between 2 permanent houses so our space wasn't too bad. Location wise it's good- close to a lot of things. Devils Den is beautiful but I (Leslie) won't swim in dark water, lol. As far as TT and Encores go- remember they can't all be winners! 😂

    • @oureverydaygetaway
      @oureverydaygetaway  7 месяцев назад

      I totally agree with not swimming in dark water! NOT going to happen! Yes, they all can't be winners. 🤪

    Ok we just spent 3 weeks at Southern Palms in Feb 24, and I can tell you there is a good side and bad side to the park. The people there were really nice and the seasonals love it there. The pool and hot tub were nice and they worked. Most of the annual sites are well cared for but a few, well not so much. It is less expensive annually than some other parks. The Bingo, shuffleboard and other events were excellent. Staff is also helpful and friendly. The park is tight but this is true for many if not most parks. My travel trailer is only 26 ft and we fit just fine. As for resort? Well that term doesn't mean much any more but because they have great activities almost every day then they are more of a "resort" than a lot of other so called resorts. The market and fair grounds next door is a real problem. Beware many Saturday nights are unacceptably noisy and this will be a show stopper for many RVers. We had to leave early on our last night there. It was just unacceptable.

    We live in Florida so we very rarely stay in commercial RV parks except for the Keys. We stay mostly at state and county parks in Florida.

    • @oureverydaygetaway
      @oureverydaygetaway  7 месяцев назад

      State and county parks are our preference but as you know it can be hard to get a reservation during peak season. Maybe one day if we become FL residents we'll have a better chance. Stay safe and enjoy your travels.

    I agree with you about the Brinkley situation. Interesting layout, not for me. But that’s why we have choices!
    Speaking of choices, Solutions for full timers like thousand trails are very limited. That’s why I primarily Boondock and rarely tardock.

    We have been in two situations like that and it is irritating. We’ve actually left early at one of them and found a state park nearby. When you pay as much as you do per night you want a campsite not a parking spot.

    I would not call that a camp ground. For a camp ground I expect at picnic table and fire ring. Offcouse we are new as I say every comment and normal just stay a state park or very small town camp grounds. I would call that a hotel for campers. You get a pool, bad gym and some com. Stuff. But no space like a hotel. Not my style for a camping experience. Safe travels love watching real people.

    Hi Chris & Katrina,
    Our plans are to get thousand trails and encore next year. What has been bothering me is that I keep hearing about crummy encore "resorts" and how they only let you stay in designated sites. I wish someone would list all the crappy Encore campgrounds. Maybe if we all knew what encores to stay away from,, thousand trails or encore would do something.
    Also, about Devils Den, It's still spring time here in central Florida. Give it another month and it'll feel like summer. All the springs here are 72 degrees. All the time. For me, It has to be 95 out before I'll get in water that cold. What a great thing to do here right now, is kayaking down a river. Rainbow Springs and Silver Springs are great. And they rent kayaks .
    Hope to see you on the road someday. Kim 😊
