Can this be used in conjunction with the gradient light strip? The strip wrapped round the top & sides of the TV & the gradient tube picking up the colours at the bottom of the screen? I have the gradient strip but 4 play bars mounted to the rear of a unit below the TV to match the lower colours. I find the bars to be a bit too chunky & the sticky pads are losing their grip & they’re falling off.
I hate Hue for not releasing a HDMI 2.1 Sync Box. There's genuinely zero reason to not have done it considering the new gaming systems. Even saying, "soon." Would be better than nothing. It's really frustrating.
@@SimonLeicester I'm one of the people who bought the first ones and I'm still unhappy about it. I didn't want to have to wait an unknown amount of time, unfortunately. It sucks that they couldn't just be clear-cut and release an updated box when the new generations of TVs and consoles came out. It was an absolutely great time to capitalise on the market and I don't understand what they're thinking.
Huge Hue fan as well, I can’t wait, it’s pretty wild a year ago, I sent them some customer feedback & ideas & to see that they made a tube like light like I said is wild. I originally said a tube shower LED rod for the shower but this is just as close, with some modifications, it can be near a shower. I can’t wait to see what else they have in store to light up the dark competition away.
I've been looking for just the right light behind my couch, aimed at the ceiling. The play bars just don't cut it. Ridiculous price, but of course I'll buy it.
Thanks for the awesome news, Justin. Since you asked, I'd love to see some reviews on smart locks. There are so many out there, and now with Apple's entry (through software) into this market, itd be great to hear your thoughts on that. Thanks again for the thoughtful content you constantly put out on your channel.
Hello, iam playing on getting gradient strip for 75 inch sony tv. Will this be enough or should I get this tube to pit it under tv? I don't want the ligjts to be a distraction while watching a movie though. I don't wanna watch a light show, I want to watch the movie. Lol
Thanks for the brilliant update. I love the Hue product. I do however when I get home have one problem to fix, multiple bridges. I have been in hospital all year and at the end of last year had around 80 lights plus accessories installed not knowing a bridge was restricted to 50 lights. 2. The light gradient bar strip, will that replace the need for the light gradient strip behind the TV? Thanks I look forward to your response.
Do you know if this will be available in Canada as well ? Because if yes Iam gonna return my 3 lights bar to use this instead for the bottom on my tv …
I have the gradient ambilight Lightstrip for my tv and I would like to have light on the bottom of the tv as well. Should I buy the new light Tube or the new gradient Lightstrip?
My Philips hue Hub are full and I had to bring another one but unfortunately Alexa cannot add two hubs at the same time. is there any good news for a new hub ?
I love hue but these prices are ridiculous. I’m not going to pay £200 for a strip light I’m afraid. It’s more expensive than a Fifx beam - which I thought cost too much. They will kill off their market at this rate.
Yes its expensive, but so pretty and works so well - can't wait to see what they have in store fro gradient effects - they are last to the race, but will be best, I'm sure!
Hey bud, how about you reviewing their ceiling lights like their flourish light. I haven’t found any review of it anywhere and I don’t see someone reviewing it better than you. Thanks!
IMO nothing comes close to Phillips ecosystem of lights..You buy 3rd party and it will not work without the HUB it Sync Box. IF you invest enough with Hue Lights its not worth getting a 3rd party lights,.
@@Justin_tech So it's not just a TV colour strip, it can be used to light an area like a regular strip, say like a LIFX Z strip, cycling through dozen(s) of colours at once? If that's the case, and it can also start cycling patterns via (Alexa) voice commands then it'll have an advantage over LIFX Z strips, which can only do that via the app.
@@Justin_tech that's what I was thinking. The only ones I can find are on Amazon for double the price and can take over a month to ship in the United States
For the TV this is an absurdly designed and ludicrously expensive solution ( another €200 ) for what is a very easy fix for Philips. Simply make longer gradient light strips, include 2 bottom corner TV brackets and slightly modify the hue sync box software to light the bottom edge of the TV. So many disadvantages to this tube….. I’m sure this can be used elsewhere for accent lighting but that’s not what their videos show.
Good point. You’re not wrong. It’s a cool device and I feel like there are so many great uses beyond the tv, like behind a computer desk. That’s how I’d want to use mine
I have a cable raceway so i guess i can't put it right below my tv. Probably going to remove my 3 playbars and put this behind my tv console. THAT SAID, i kinda want to use this for baseboard lighting lmao
OMG AMAMZING i can finaly mount to lower bit of 65inch oled tv to make the strip go all way round tv as stupid philips did not make it a full strip ussless they know how to make use pay for a set up that should have been from day one lol cant wait hahaha fab video thanks your amamzing . 👍😉👍👍👍👍👍
That's dope. Can't wait to add this to my setup

Awesome ... I must say, I'm most excited by the brighter bulbs - can't wait for them to come out.
You and me both!!
Hi do you think the 55 inch gradient will work on the 48 inch tv and if so how best to attach it for the bottom I took the 1m extension thank you

The hue sync box can work with projectors too. Tech support says it won’t.

Any specific ones?
@@Justin_tech maybe Yale, August or Kwikset!
I just had Yale Assure locks put in at home for my wife and they are great.
Any updates on these? I ordered on December 22, 2021 and Philips Support said they have no idea when they'll be shipped.
Can you stick it on the bottom of the back of the TV?

Do you need a sync box?
Hey man. I’ve been looking for the Sync Box and it’s sold out everywhere or not available. Have Phillips leaked if a new box is on the horizon?
I was in the same boat as you a few month back. Couldn’t get a Sync Box. I doubt theses a new version, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

do you know when it will be on sale?
I have the gradient ambilight Lightstrip for my tv and I would like to have light on the bottom of the tv as well. Should I buy the new light Tube or the new gradient Lightstrip?
I think the light tube will be your best option
@@Justin_tech okay👍🏽 Thank you for your quick answer!
Can this light tube be mounted behind the tv at the top instead of below the TV?
Absolutely, as long as there is room - I like the idea of hiding it!
My Philips hue Hub are full and I had to bring another one but unfortunately Alexa cannot add two hubs at the same time. is there any good news for a new hub ?
They say they are actively working to fix this…but still no word. HomeKit can handle two hubs no problem. It’s annoying!!

Question: Does Sync box only work with HDMI sources? What if I'm using built in app on TV, like Prime to play content?
Yes you need to have an external device plugged into the sync box.
@@Justin_tech thanx for the replay!
More and more apps and services on newer TV's so the sync box will have little effect.

They are - I came out with a video last week or so showing it off. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/BvB66ZyGol4/видео.html
@@Justin_tech oh wow thanks for telling me, they look cool. But hopefully they have more addressable zones
So still nothing to compete against the LIFX Z, that can cycle thru colours?
