  • In this video, Luke, an account manager for Aveva Select, explains the concept of a Remote Operations Center (ROC) and how it can benefit organizations. A ROC allows for the aggregation of information from geographically distributed assets into a single visualization platform, improving operational efficiency. Luke discusses the challenges of integration and highlights Aveva's extensive library of operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) connectors that help overcome these barriers. Aveva's vendor-agnostic approach enables the consolidation of contextual asset information, including engineering, maintenance, and financial data, into a user-friendly interface. If you're interested in building a ROC for your organization, reach out to Aveva today.

Within the end user (Mining co. utility co, etc.), who typically owns the ROC within the organization? Is it the VP of Operations/Manufacturing or a Engineering leader who typically has oversight over ROCs?

Thank you for your question! Typically a VP of Operations is the executive sponsor, and an Operations Manager/ROC Manager is running the day-to-day. They usually have some technical background to understand and own the rollout/maintenance of the solution.
Note - this is not always the case and organization structure can vary.
