    Hi Gorhamian, thank you for your insightful tutorials. You will see a lot of folks like me use inkscape to make svg files for laser cutting/engraving.
    Can you please teach us how to import a scanned image of a flat object or a logo on a flatbed scanner into inkscape, turn it to vector/png and formatting the size of vector image and object to be the same. In other words, I want size of my sample object scanned and vectorized to cut same size while laser cutting.

    The tutorial is good to understand background removal. Now, this excercise was one color logo. I did the same way and I successfully completed removing the background from the image. However,, my logo which has large area of sky blue looks faded, the original on Inkscape canva looks brillian and pretty, but not the isolated image. How do you approach if your image has colors or more layers, etc.? Thanks to MisFit Studios for the tutorial.

    Hello. Thank you for your tutorial. I am very grateful. I am having a hard time finding any youtuber provide details on how to make the inside of that logo you traced, transparent. When you traced bitmap, the inside white part of the volcano became transparent. But when you traced with the bezier tool around the outside. The inside still was white. I have tried to bezier trace the inside and clip set the inside of my already outside clipped image, and it has not worked. Am I missing anything? Thank you in advanced.

    Good demo, only _now_ I can see why so many people are still confused by almost any bezier tutorial, _not because of what is explained, but what is not explained._ Let me explain...
    The most important thing to know is that the bezier tool is used to _trace the outline of an object,_ and that is exactly _how_ the tool is used. To make the curve, pull the line along the outline of the object you are tracing just as if you were tracing with a pencil or an imaginary line with your finger. People have trouble conceptualizing how to move the node because they don't think of it as a pencil line drawn by their own hand, but that is exactly what it is. Take a toothpick or such and trace the object on the screen...that is exactly how you should manipulate the line with your mouse... follow the outline and the curves will fall into place. Hope this help those who still have trouble.

How do we crop out the background when it is within the actual piece we are trying to salvage? using the bazier pen trace the shape you want to remove (on the inside of the outer shape you have already traced) then select both traces and select path and difference. This will remove the inner path you traced. If you are having trouble with it this video should help.

    Hello how do you take an image off an shirt and then remove the background or just remove the shirt part?

    • @MisFitStudios
      @MisFitStudios  4 года назад +1

      is the image on a shirt a digital image like off of the internet or an image you took of a shirt? In Either case the steps would be about the same. upload the image into Inkscape and trace a bitmap of the image. Check the remove background option before you trace the bit map. (only if the shirt color is white) if the shirt color is anything other than white you need to trace around the image with draw bezier curves and straight lines tool. once you have traced the ouline of the image select the selection tool and drag across the entire image. Selecting the background and line you just created with the Draw Bezier curves and straight lines tool. on the top of the menu go to object click clip and then set. this should remove anything on the outside of the line you just created with the Bezier pen tool. Hopes this helps

    • @MisFitStudios
      @MisFitStudios  4 года назад

      The image can only be tapered using path effects. So the image must be turned into a path (vector image) you can do this by making a bitmap of the image. Once the image is turned into a path. Go to Path>path effects. Select the image. click the plus sign in the path effects window. under the list of effects select Perspective/Envelope. Then you can uset the edit paths by nodes tool to grab each corner of the image and change its shape to match the shape you are looking for.

      The easiest way to get me the image would be to upload it to Imgur and share the link here. You can always join our the Misfit Studios Discord server and send it there as well. discord.gg/
