Hi, I came across your Instagram post on watercolor painting just a few hours ago, and I became interested. That's what brought me here. I used to paint as a child, but it was just child's play. I still have those paintings, and framed. I want to express what I feel through painting. You inspired me to want to start painting, but I don't know how and where to start. I want to know what kind of paper and paints to buy, what brushes to use, and what their names are. Should I draw with pencil on the paper first? Should I buy an easel for it? I'm from an island in the Philippines. Thank you and God bless you!
Hi. So glad you found my channel. I have a free online course - Getting Started in Watercolor. I encourage you go through those lessons. I answer questions and make recommendations for paper, paint, brushes and palette. I also show you how to set up your painting area. You might not find the same materials in the Phillippines, but I'm sure you can find comparable products. Ask a local artist or art store. Here is the link to my course: studio.krisdebruine.com/getting-started-in-watercolor
Haha. Thanks for watching. :-) Actually all four of these steps can be applied to ANY painting medium. So maybe they will be helpful in digital manga too. Have a great day.
I love the way you teach. I always walk away with a “pearl”. I have done several of your free courses and like them. I find only one pay to enroll course on your website. Are there others that I am missing? Thank you. Bob
Hi Bob. Thank you so much for your interest in my courses. I must admit I am kind of slow at launching new courses. Honestly, it takes a lot of work/time and this is just my "side-gig." :-) However, that said, I do have plans to launch more courses and Quick-Guides in the future. Is there a topic you are particularly interested in seeing? Thanks again for leaving a reply. ~Kris
This is so useful and exciting!

Great video, and your 4 steps were helpful. Thank you I liked seeing the bird paintings again.
