The Borg have some very serious weaknesses which the changelings would exploit. While the Dominion would send a wave of Jem Hedar ships to be cannon fodder the changelings would beam aboard hit the off switch at put the Borg to sleep.
As you Did not add Species 8472 in the list you must know I feel they could destroy any race you have in the list, Yes the Borg have assimilated most of the list, but only because a few have not encountered them.
The Voth. So close to Borg space made them a tasty treat for the Borg. But never taken by the Borg makes them more powerful. I would like to see a a movie about them coming to the Alpha quadrant to destroy humanity and Earth. To protect doctrine. In the currant time line the most powerful and the most technically advanced hostile race to date humans have come across. Argumentally the most advanced in the Milky Way galaxy. The Voth City ships would make quick work against Federation fleets. 11KM and trans warp capable. Not to forget capable of beaming starships inside itself. In any new Startreck that happens after the Dominion war. Should be included as at least a season. They were one of the first races in the Milky Way galaxy.
Thank you for uploading this video now I have a better understanding of how the Dominion started and where it started with James T Kirk and other captains of the Star Trek franchise. I think
I am am Remata'Klan and I am dead. We are all dead. We go into battle, to reclaim our lives. This we do gladly for we are Jem Hadar. Remember, victory is life. He was a great character. Betrayed by his Vorta and his squad sent on a mission to die, but he still acted to bring glory to the Dominion.
1st Species 8472. 2nd The Borg. Mentioned in all are the comments are that they didn't fight the Federation mainly, but this list is called Star Treks most dangerous species, not Federations greatest threats..
The Dominion shouldn't be on this list. They are not a species, they are a group of different species. That would be like calling the Federation a single species.
Yet Species 8472 is not on the list or even on the mentioned list which wiped the floor of the borg, was destroying planets in a few seconds and killing cubes like they were nothing more than a minor inconvenience? In order to balance the playing field needed a biological weapon.
This list is strange and inaccurate. Neither the Dominion nor the Xindi are species. The Dominion is a federation consisting of the Jem Hadar and the Vorta. They are led by the founders. Among them, only the Jem hadar are really hostile.
"The Dominion was a major theocratic state in the Gamma Quadrant. Technologically advanced and millennia old, the Dominion was an interstellar oligarchy founded under the absolute rule of a group of Changelings known as the Founders, whose will was carried out by the Vorta and the Jem'Hadar."
@Jamie_Silaban Yes. The Borg might reproduce by capturing other species but they qualify as a species themselves. They have distinctive and defining characteristics unique to them.
Nice List but technically neither the Dominion nor the Borg are species While the Dominion is an Empire that is home to many species, what the Borg are is a big question really I mean we don‘t know their origins or where exactly they come from (and thats probably a good thing because like that they stay mysterious and so on so please cbs don‘t explain the Borg) So they are cyborgs and assimilators and when you get assimilated you turn into a Borg too so are they a species then? It‘s probably a philosophical question a future Star Trek episode will address (although currently there is no series on that could give a near satisfying nor complex take on this)
You forgot to mention the changelings especially the female changeling there was in charge of the group she was probably one of the villains and she didn't want Odo to know that.
The video should have included the "species 8472" among the hostiles, and as number 1. They would have exterminated the Borgs if it wasn't by the USS Voyager crew. Later, they would have destroyed Earth, and only didn't because they were convinced the Federation was not a threat.
I wouldn't have thought the dominion would really count as a "species"? I mean, I recognize that the Borg is also a group composed of members of countless different species, but to become a Borg those individuals went through a process that took their individual species from them and remade them as a single, new species while the dominion is simply the voluntary cooperation of members of various species toward a common end.
Another species worthy of mention is the species that attacked the NX-01 in the first season episode Silent Enemy - can’t see anything else on them in Canon.
Phillip Siviter 1 hour ago That species that appears in the "Star Trek: Enterprise" Season 1 Episode 12 "Silent Enemy" is often referred to as "Shroomie's", the Elachi [Star Trek: Online], or possibly the Kovaalan's, the hostile alien species that were mentioned, but never actually shown (except for their ships [as you can see here: ruclips.net/video/KQ7LZF-vI1s/видео.html ], which has a very similar color and hull design appearance to the same vessel that attacked Enterprise in "Silent Enemy") in "Star Trek: Enterprise" Season 3 Episode 21 "E2".

OMG! All of these guys are crazy! But the Klingons ,the Cardasiens, and the Romulins are the representatives of the first three Star trek series! And that is awesome!
I think that's just an artifact of the shows being about the Federation. 90% of the episodes POV is the Federation. I remember an episode of Voyager where the crew came across a sphere that went funky where all the drones personalities came back. They went back to the last thing they were saying before assimilation when Voyager sent a team over- one drone was swearing in Klingon while another in classic Ferengi style was asking how much latinum to let him go so other Alpha Quadrant species definitely got assimilated.

@@BingeBot The Borg would certainly win a war agaist the Dominion. Few people would disagree. Those who do, argue that the Dominion almost won agaist the Federation in a relatively short time. But this argument has a serious failure, because, unlike the Borg, the Dominion's goal was to conquer the alpha quadrant. They systematically attacked the planetary systems of that quadrant. And actually the war had already begun before that, when the Dominion made use of subterfuges like sending Changelings as disguised agents to destabilize the quadrant, causing the factions to fight against each other so they became weekened. The Borg were never interested in the military conquer of any regions of the galaxy. Their goal was to achieve "perfection", what they did by assimilating the technology of any species they considered worthy for them. If they waged war against the Dominion, they would win of course, even if the Dominion *_perhaps_* had an advantage in the very beginning (the Borg would soon adapt). And the Species 8472 would give the Dominion a serious scourge...
@Atanvardo I agree with you that the Borg would probably triumph over the Dominion. That is why they are #1 and #2, respectively. But the more interesting questions are how and over what time period. The Borg are portrayed as the most fearsome culture and enemy in Star Trek, but we shouldn’t underestimate the war machines and war-making capabilities of the Dominion. The Borg assimilate other races, making them dependent on other races’ reproduction. This is an inherent weakness of the Borg when pitted against an enemy such as the Dominion, who can produce soldiers and weapons indefinitely under the right circumstances. But this in turn becomes the Dominion’s weakness against the Borg, because their endless production of troops fuels the Borg’s assimilation culture and therefore mitigates the Borg’s weakness. Which will eventually result in a victory for the Borg at the end of the day, or year, or decade, or however long the Dominion can put up a fight.
Thank you! Species 8472 would most likely top this list, but they eventually halted hostilities towards Voyager and thus the Federation, making them a non-competitor for this list.
I realize Species 8472 is a highly dangerous/advanced species, capable of even dismantling the Borg, but the reason they are not included in the list is because they inhabit another dimension (Fluidic Space) than the Borg/Federation. And while the Suliban and Xindi may not be the biggest challenge the Federation has ever faced, they were a major disruptive force during the founding days of the Federation
@@BingeBot Yes, but I didn't see 'inhabiting our dimension' in the ground rules list. It simply stated "hostile to the federation, hostile in general, not god-like, and main canon timeline" as prerequisites. By those standards, 8472 definitely should be in there.
The Dominion fell because the Cardassians turn to add in the battle against them, Yes the Romulans help but as you said the Jem Hadar destroyed most of the Romulan fleet.
The only reason the dominion didnt conquer de alpha/beta quadrant is because of the prophet aka the wormhole alien that cuted off dominion reinforcement from the gama quadrant ... from that moment dominion had to rely on conquered world like cardassia
I had to read the heading a few times before commenting. So I have to agree with the results here! However if it were to say the absolute of all! That would be Q! There is no way to defeat that one at all, it's why I liked the next generation in the first place.
The dominion in my opinion was the.most dangerous and the one that came the closest of taking over if they werent stop by plot armor, remember that if they werent cuted off from they'r reinforcement from the gamma quadrant they would have conquered alpha and beta quadrant
How can the USS Enterprise(NCC 1701) be called a flagship? A flagship is part of a fleet. A Flag Officer (O-7, -8, -9, or -10) would be on board. The plans of the USS Constellation (NCC 1017) Class, & the USS Enterprise-D(NCC 1701-D)Class, show no flag bridge. Where would Capt. Picard go to when he was ordered to "Report to the bridge"? The other officers would report to him. #70) Were not the Breen in a "Star Wars" movie?
The flagship thing comes from where the term differs in civilian English vs actual naval terms. In the civilian world the term is used to denote something that is the best or central to something. The flagship series on a TV network or the flagship model car a maker has. That's because for most of history the flagship of a naval fleet would be the biggest, best ship a fleet had. In the days of sail admirals made ships of the line flagships, usually the biggest one in the fleet rather than using smaller ships like frigates. In WWI dreadnoughts were used in the same way. The show writers are trying to say Enterprise is the pride of the fleet and the best ship.
@@BigWillyG1000 If they were civilians on a civilian ship, they wouldn't have military ranks. The HMS Dreadnought was built around 1888 A D. It was obsolete when WW I started. The largest ships, with 94-100 guns were called First Rates. 84 guns were downgraded to Second Rates.74 guns were once First Rates.
@@leondillon8723 And they were used as flagships. Your date is way off on Dreadnought. The 1888 Dreadnought was an ironclad. HMS Dreadnought that lent the name to all big gun battleships is from 1906. Easy mistake. Royal Navy loves that name. The Certifiably InGame channel here does episodes on the names of various Starfleet vessels has an episode on the Dreadnought name. First Royal Navy ship with the name he could find was from the 1500s. A Drake class missile cruiser currently in service is HMS Dreadnought. When I'm talking about civilians I'm talking about the TOS writers. Even taking into account a good chunk were veterans they weren't Navy vets. Roddenbury was USAF. They didn't known when writing dialog the Navy has a very specific meaning when they say flagship.
@@BigWillyG1000 I was off by about 20 years. The ship was obsolete before WW I (28 June 1914-19).The closest it came to battle was in 1915. It rammed and sunk Unterzeaboot 29 (U-29).They almost rammed another RN ship also trying to ram. Surpassed by battleships, it was assigned to coastal patrol with pre-Dreadnought ships. It sat out the Battle of Jutland. Author Clive Cussler is also confused. In "The Titanic Secret", he called the steering wheel (helm) the conn.
@@leondillon8723 Still not truly obsolete. Plenty of other dreadnoughts at Jutland. Kills don't mean much because dreadnoughts and super-dreadnoughts actually saw very little combat. Remember Jutland is the only big fleet action of the war. A dreadnought is a type of battleship. Not a separate thing.
I have always loved star trek...did they ever explain how the Klingon appearance changed so rather drastically??? In earlier shows and films they didnt have those ridges on their forehead they r known for...there was a ds9 episode where i think in a hologram others of the crew noticed that the past klingon didnt have the ridges and wirk wouldnt answer
klingons experimented with genetics in Kirk's era to give them a more human appearance to make them better able to infiltrate the federation. thats the official answer, and how they do it was shown in the first season of Star Trek Discovery. the REAL answer is the original star trek series didn't have any money for makeup prosthetics, so when they introduced the Klingons in one of the movies, they simply changed their appearance because they had the money to do it.
8472 wanted all the smoke and they even made the borg regret running into them they exterminated all other life in their quadrant and had/have plans to do the same in the other quadrants
Kazon on this must be removed. Kazon were no threat Star Fleet ever. Just one ship. Replace them with Orions at least they consistently villion race in history.
I may be alone in this, but I cannot stand the Borg. They suck. I'd love to see them gone from Star Trek, destroyed forever. Too bad they never got hit with a time/civilization erasing missle from the Krenim Imperium. Nowadays, writers never like to give us a solid victory anymore, but like to milk a storyline eternally for all they can get (still waiting 40 years later for John Connor's final defeat of the Terminator's machine world), which is what I think they will do in the new Picard series with the Borg returning even though we thought Janeway destroyed them. In 1982's Return of the Jedi we thought the Empire was gone and now we find out the SW galaxy didn't get better because writers like to keep things going nowadays. Please, please Star Trek, let's find out the Borg are really gone forever! Come up with a new, original baddie. BTW, I always changed the channel when the Kazon came on. Not interested in any episode having to do with them. For as much as I hate the Borg, even they were more interesting.
If only there was a race out there, maybe even so out there that they come from another universe entirely, who could effortlessly curb stomp the Borg… ;)

I was just wondering, Why does that name sound so familiar...
@@blanddan8991 XD I know 😂
@@roverdover4449 Yes 😂
Great list, though I definitely would have the Gorn and the Nausicans on the list, or at least an honorary mention.
This right here
My name is Miles O Brian, I’m alive and I intend to stay that way.
your voice is very soothing i like it
1st Species 8472.
The Borg technically shouldn't count either, as they are made up of different races as well.
I would like to see the Borg vs. The Dominion.
That would be interesting. People forget that the Jem Hadar aren't the most powerful species in the Dominion. Imagine Borg vs Founders...
Good Top 10 list👍👍
Does anybody else think the Breen look like princess Leia in her bounty hunter costume?
anyone else notice that the breen was straight ripped from return of the jedi when leia dresses up as a bounty hunter
Yet Species 8472
is not on the list or even on the mentioned list which wiped the floor of the borg, was destroying planets in a few seconds and killing cubes like they were nothing more than a minor inconvenience? In order to balance the playing field needed a biological weapon.
This list is strange and inaccurate. Neither the Dominion nor the Xindi are species. The Dominion is a federation consisting of the Jem Hadar and the Vorta. They are led by the founders. Among them, only the Jem hadar are really hostile.
Epic How u did iT!! Keep iT coming✌🏽️💯💯💯 perfect
"The Dominion was a major theocratic state in the Gamma Quadrant. Technologically advanced and millennia old, the Dominion was an interstellar oligarchy founded under the absolute rule of a group of Changelings known as the Founders, whose will was carried out by the Vorta and the Jem'Hadar."
is borg a species though?
@Jamie_Silaban Yes. The Borg might reproduce by capturing other species but they qualify as a species themselves. They have distinctive and defining characteristics unique to them.
Nice List but technically neither the Dominion nor the Borg are species
While the Dominion is an Empire that is home to many species, what the Borg are is a big question really
I mean we don‘t know their origins or where exactly they come from (and thats probably a good thing because like that they stay mysterious and so on so please cbs don‘t explain the Borg)
So they are cyborgs and assimilators and when you get assimilated you turn into a Borg too so are they a species then? It‘s probably a philosophical question a future Star Trek episode will address (although currently there is no series on that could give a near satisfying nor complex take on this)
You forgot to mention the changelings especially the female changeling there was in charge of the group she was probably one of the villains and she didn't want Odo to know that.
The Female Changeling/Changelings are the head of the Dominion
She was brutal
He did say the Dominion. It’s the same thing as the Changelings
The video should have included the "species 8472" among the hostiles, and as number 1. They would have exterminated the Borgs if it wasn't by the USS Voyager crew. Later, they would have destroyed Earth, and only didn't because they were convinced the Federation was not a threat.
The Cardashians spread clamidia through the galaxy.
Chlamydia was misspelled, but yeah. 😂
Phillip Siviter
1 hour ago That species that appears in the "Star Trek: Enterprise" Season 1 Episode 12 "Silent Enemy" is often referred to as "Shroomie's", the Elachi [Star Trek: Online], or possibly the Kovaalan's, the hostile alien species that were mentioned, but never actually shown (except for their ships [as you can see here: ruclips.net/video/KQ7LZF-vI1s/видео.html ], which has a very similar color and hull design appearance to the same vessel that attacked Enterprise in "Silent Enemy") in "Star Trek: Enterprise" Season 3 Episode 21 "E2".
Jamie Olberding thanks for that, that’s who they are - stay clear of the Delphic Expanse then.
@@phillipsiviter2024 Unless... if you happen to be a Dalek, because they usually don't take no for an answer as they're always the types that are often "Shoot first, ask questions later".

All of these guys are crazy!
But the Klingons ,the Cardasiens, and the Romulins are the representatives of the first three Star trek series!
And that is awesome!
I want 2 know why the borg only attacks the federation.. They never made a show were they attack the Kardashians or other species.
Can the Borg be considered a Species? Doesn't seem like it to me.
This is what the list should've looked like (In no particular order)
01) The Gorn
02) The Breen
03) The Klingons
04) The Kazons

I think you mean Reptilians. Insectoids are all CGI. They look like a cross between a praying mantis and an ant
Xindi became part of Star Fleet look at Daniels in Enterprise!
Great List
I would like to see the dominion vs species 8472
Me too, but seeing what Species 8472 did to the Borg, I don’t think The Founders would like to encounter the beings from Fluidic Space
What About the Species That Looked Like Flying Xenomorphs?
Great video, thank you. Personally, Species 8472 was my number 1 pick. The Borg was almost completely wiped out by them.....
Thank you! Species 8472 would most likely top this list, but they eventually halted hostilities towards Voyager and thus the Federation, making them a non-competitor for this list.
How come humans are never on theses lists? The Ferengi, Vulcan and Cardasians and are terrified of them.
Discvery is canon?
yes sirree
I'm not sure you would call the Borg "hostile". They just do what they do, without malice.
No gorn ?
7:14 looks like a Benny Hinn conference.
Kardasians aren’t hostile while kazoos are a mild version of the hirogens.
tecnically the dominion is not a single species.
How did the Kazon make the list? They're pretty much the Deliverance hillbillies of Star Trek.
species 8472 IN, Suliban/Xindi OUT.
@@BingeBot no mention about the sheliak or talarians or tzenkethi?
So how would Q aging be explained? He is supposed to be ageless.
Husnock would have been number one and easily dismantled the federation, but they were stopped forever by the Douwd.
Marc Alaimo famous as Gul Dukat playing a Romulan on TNG.
He is a great actor and contributor to Star Trek all round
The dominion in my opinion was the.most dangerous and the one that came the closest of taking over if they werent stop by plot armor, remember that if they werent cuted off from they'r reinforcement from the gamma quadrant they would have conquered alpha and beta quadrant
I wondered why he didn’t include animated series, then I realized he just didn’t want to add Pakleds to the list
My list
1 Borg
2 Jem Hadar
3 Hirogen
4 Klingons
5 Cardasians
6 Romulans
7 Kazon
8 Breen
9 Norsicans
10 Tholians
I´m missing *Species 8472*
Species 8472 even have the Borgs terrified.
What would Captain Kirk say to a Breen when he met a Breen for the first time? "What do you want (Daft) Punk?"
Huh, didn’t know Dukat was a Romulan
8472 wanted all the smoke and they even made the borg regret running into them they exterminated all other life in their quadrant and had/have plans to do the same in the other quadrants
I miss the Housnok!
Undine? 8472?
The GORN!
Before I finish watching this, I bet the Borg is number 1!
You forgot species 8472
Hirogen should have been nominated.
Good job the ‘Q’ were kinda friends
Yeah, they/it/he could indeed be called a friend if you consider the real baddies in Star Trek
Terrans should be on that list
Think about it they would would wipe the floor clean with your entire list plus your mentions
Not mentioning species 8472.....🙄😬
Hirogen should of been on the top ten, they hunted any humanoids including humans.
The gorn ?????
Species 8472: AM I A JOKE TO YOU?
Rest in the good news
The Borg were always going to be #1. Resistance is futile.
Species 8472 and The Hirogen should be in here definitely better than Kazon
#1 and #2 need to swap positions.
All the species are hostile, but there's something they don't have: The High Ground!

What kind of idiot allows an enemy to slowly create a net around their ship which can maneuver in all three dimensions?
Kazon on this must be removed. Kazon were no threat Star Fleet ever. Just one ship.
Replace them with Orions at least they consistently villion race in history.
Your number one species the Borg were scared shitless by species 8472.
The Prophets stopped the Dominion not the Cardassians ..lol
