I would have loved to spent time with each of them hearing their stories about their lives. They are all amazing people and what wisdom and insight into life these men surely had. God bless them.

In 2002's Primetime Emmy Awards, Band of Brothers won Best Miniseries; both Hanks and Spielberg had Winters do the acceptance speech while his company of men, surviving members of Easy Company were nearby hotel looked on.... Camera pointed at them, as Winters done his speech. Everyone, all the celebrities, writers, and directors gave them a huge standing ovation!! They won Best of everything because they saved the world from a madman.

Nice reaction video. Thanks for sharing. I've been to Ketchikan. Such beautiful country where you live! Up until earlier this year i was living in the Pacific Northwest (Washington), about an hour north of Seattle, same city actually where Buck Compton (depicted in the movie) was living until the end of his life in 2012. How cool it would have been to meet so many of these men. So few veterans remaining today. And one of the greatest productions ever made for television. It makes you so aware and grateful for that generation; makes you want to talk to as many of them as possible (all in their 90s now, if still living) and hear their stories. God Bless

The official podcast is really solid as well. Lots of interviews with the actors and EP Erik Jendresen. The host took some getting used to, but the interviews are brilliant.
I’m not sure if your knowledge of the Compton/McDonough coincidences includes the fact that just after BoB, he played a LA district attorney on the short lived Boomtown, but I found that interesting.

One vet stated that he is an only child; after WWII, Pentagon enacted new policy called Sole Survivor Policy making vets like him ineligible for service. Policy stated that families with an only child, son or now daughter cannot be drafted or enlisted into service. Policy was enacted after cases of brothers been killed in actions with two well-known: Sullivans and Borgstroms.

I'm assuming you've listened to the HBO BOB podcast? It got released about 1-2 years ago. It's 10 episodes, appropriately, and each episode is an interview with a different cast/production stff memeber (including Tom Hanks, Neal McDonough, Damian Lewis, and Matthew Settle, Speirs' actor). In the one with Wild Bill's actor he tells some fantastic stories about the real Guarnere, with whom he was in a close relationship with, and about the time when the real Guarnere and Heffron came to visit the BOB set. It's really good
