  • The story of the men of Easy Company, as told by the veterans themselves. A poignant, heart-wrenching tale of bravery, loss, trauma, and the endurance of the human spirit.

Ed Tipper, the one with the young daughter, was, if you recall, the soldier that got shelled in the building in Carentan. He had horrific injuries to his face, legs, feet, and Liebgott came and took care of him. So amazing that he survived, and so wonderful that he got to have a life and family.

Wow, I was gonna post the same thing. It was Tipper who told Sobel, "I think it's Major Horton, Sir", when Luz was impersonating Horton behind the bushes, during training in England.

@@vinniemoran7362 Yeahh, if you read the book Band of Brothers (Stephen Ambrose), Tipper was also always reading maps for Sobel, who had trouble with maps.

A note on The Pacific: it's a different tone than Band of Brothers. I don't think you can really say one is better than the other; both are phenomenal. I'm looking forward to your reactions. Very much love your videos.

What’s weird for me is, I didn’t like The Pacific as much. It’s weird because my dad fought in the pacific during WWII. He died before the show came out so I never got to talk to him about it. He never told me anything about his experiences only the locations of the battles that he fought in.

I can vividly recall watching this when it came out (pretty certain the first episode of the series was broadcast on 9/11/01 - for years I had it on tape and that was the date stamp on the recording). What's hard to realize is that now, 21+ years later, all these men are gone. In fact the last surviving veteran of Easy, Brad Freeman, died earlier this year.

There's another documentary which was produced in conjunction with both Band of Brothers and The Pacific, called "He Has Seen War". This features interviews with surviving members of the units portrayed in both series as well as with their families discussing their return to civilian life and the issues they faced.
It's available on You Tube but make sure you've watched The Pacific beforehand.

Major Winters said that that's the kind of guy "Popeye" Wynn was. Dick Winters was the kind of leader who inspired that kind of dedication and loyalty.

What they did was incomparable, and every man that went over there was a hero in my book. And we don't even know the half of it. As soon as you set foot on foreign soil and fought for our freedom, you are US royalty. And their kids know it.

Hi there, another great reaction from you guys, and it's great to see how good your relationship is with each other, it really comes through on your reactions. I never got on at all with my mum, though I had a good relationship with my dad. It makes me smile to see how well you two get on. Best wishes to you both from England. Ps, I think your mum is such a lovely lady. 👍😊

Well the footage shown isn't just easy it's of many different Airborne units God every time watching this it brings back all the times in the barrack;s with these Scalawags. 7:04 mark Me and Bill were pretty drunk during the 50th anniversary of the battle of the Bulge (Big WW2 reenactment in PA) when he told me the story on how he really earned the nickname "Wild Bill" . i remember Bill catching us as we were about to go "Walking Out" in our M43 uniforms and he was like "were's you beilt's knives pistols??" he said all the guys would be wearing captured German items to scare the crap out of the replacements. 14:48 yeah our unit bought Babe & Bill those M42 jackets as gifts 22:14 mark thats the pic of Nixon with his stash 26:55 mark they just had the unit Reunion a few months back at Fort Benning, GA (Family members & Friends )Babe singing gets me every time he would start singing in the barrack's and we were all drunk listening too him and Bill would heckle him about always having to sing when he gets a few drinks in him lol. sadly they are all gone now having made their final jumps.

Well done. It’s really nice how mom and son can do something like this together. Authentic is the key.. easy and so many more men, Canadian, British, Aussie deserve our respect and recognition. Unfortunately think they would be appalled at what America has become culturally. Almost all of easy were poor as shit. Came from nothing. Anyways, excellent content. Hope you’re both well.

I think you can see why some many people recommended this " follow up " to Band of Brothers, most reviewers watch the 10 episodes, and then don't do " We stand alone together " ... On this weekend, when we in the United Kingdom remember our fallen and veterans, it's lovely to watch ... Lest we forget , L/Cpl L.V. Rawson, Royal Signals died 26/7/1943, in Service .... the Grandfather that me and my two sisters never knew .... 💔

Great miniseries. but defiantly several mistakes. Popeye wasn't a lowly private. He was a Sergeant. He passed away shortly after his interview was filmed. You hear Major Winters kind of mention it when he was talking about him apologizing for being hit. When he says that's the kind of man he was. Joe Liebgott wasn't a cabbie. He became a barber. And the big mess up was Albert Blyth. He didn't die from his injuries. He had a long career in the Army. He was a master Sergeant. On December 10, 1967, while on active duty in Germany, Blithe felt nauseated when he returned from a weekend at Bastogne, Belgium, where he had taken part in the ceremonies commemorating the Battle of the Bulge. On December 11, 1967, Blithe was taken to the emergency room at Wiesbaden Hospital, Germany, where he was admitted with a diagnosis of a perforated ulcer. He died in the intensive care unit on December 17 after surgery and was buried in Arlington National Cemetery with full honors. Seeing Lipton and Malarky talking, they are reliving Bastogne, you can easily tell they were still haunted by what happened there.
