In a 4-quadrant Chapo, we make broad generalizations about various regions of America and their respective snack foods, make fun of a pundit's bizarre and inept behavior online, gawk at MAGA-realm apocalyptic stupidity, and finally examine liberal vacuousness from a new writer earning their first-time Reading Series Author challenge coin.
Here's the gofundme to support the Teamsters COVID protection fund Amber mentions at the end of the episode: charity.gofund...

This feels like it was 80 years ago. I hate the modern news cycle for making me feel that way about stuff that only happened months prior.
2020 is the official end of the standard plot: "Humanity unites in the face of a threat to defeat it".
I thought this too, but Matt and others have explained how people respond to felt needs according to their own real life situations. Same reason socialism is a pipe dream right now: we’re all alienated from each other and our sense of class.
@@gking407 Imagine bringing out a movie like Armageddon nowadays. "The US government has proposed tax reductions for companies investing in space flight technology to deliver the nuclear charges to the asteroid about to hit earth. The president is cautiously optimistic to reach an agreement with the other party. Meawhile, protests about the election process for the crew are still ongoing after a Fox comment called out "sharia antifa" after a muslim lesbian was nominated. Next we have a discussion with Doctor Strangelove who has sparked controversy but also got a great following after calling the asteroid a hoax and the destruction of LA by debris as 'overexaggerated'."
@@TheMovingEyegood analogy, you basically described climate change and the collective response to it.
Actually in Tokyo we've had a bunch of bozos organizing anti-mask protests in Shibuya and other hubs.
At some point they organized dozens of people to get on one of the main subway lines at peak hours to protest and "make mask-wearers feel stupid for standing out"
Exceptions that prove the rule.
@@Dawnrunner42 yeah, though people have really relaxed
especially young people, not social distaning, going to events and stuff... not good
Doesnt help that the government has spent the last few months paying people to revitalize local turism.... only to then pikachi-face at the new spikes (which are probably much worse in reality, since they're massagin numbers) and then blame foreigners
Imagine being a Japanese libertarian lmao
@Porky Japan is fertile land for all kind of weird cults and organizations
the shit some of them get up to is honestly pretty wild
I love the ability to question the oligarchs.
ah the early days we were so naive
Thought this sounded familiar, Ha, April. Ok then.
Such innocent times.
when your squirt becomes a dribble you carry a gun....
1:51 That image is burned into my mind. If you want America in a nutshell that's as close as you're going to get.
I used to think Bernie was a sheep leading lions. Alas, he was leading other sheep.
Tanzania is in the hizouse
My job is essential to feed my family (the sign that convinced me against lockdowns)
You really think these lads have families?
Funny as feeding people only takes money cuz capitalists tell us it does. Take out the people on top and everyone gets fed.
@@freakyzed8467 agreed
chapo just been laughing at working class people the entire pandemic, pretending the class dynamics are inverted to help their petty bourgeois audience cope. jon oliver cringe but make it high school-aggrieved nerd brooklyn
They're laughing at people afraid of masks. That's a cultural signifier not a class one.
Working class is when you own a boat dealership and go to Fudrucker’s without a mask while screaming at the waitress.
You are not a member of the working class nor do you believe anyone that works for a living.
