    We love your videos! Y'all provide so much great info on travels, maintenance and installs! Just recently we installed our own upgrade to a Furion range in our 23' Airstream and also changed our warped freezer door. Both of your videos on those were very helpful for us! It took some time to decide on the 12 volt electrical route we would take for the range. Sometimes it's a hit or miss situation; but we finally succeeded and love our new Furrion range. Thanks for the video assistance!

      Thanks so much for watching and we're glad our videos were helpful. We love the look of our new Furrion stove and oven. We're still getting used to the burners as they provide more heat than our old stove. We're testing a diffuser and will provide a Luv Subbin short film in the near future.

      Hi Mark - Thanks for watching! The model we installed was a Furrion F1S21L02A-SS. Like we said, we had to install a 2" spacer at the bottom. There's also a small trim piece on the top we'll have to put on as the depth was not exact.

    We follow you two religiously on RUclips and enjoy your adventures and find your advice priceless. One question ... we have a 2008 25FB and bought a new range with the lighted knobs. All is well except for figuring out how to run DC power to the range top. Where did you find the DC wire for the lights? Many thanks!

    • @LuvSubbin
      @LuvSubbin  Год назад

      Thank you so much for watching our videos religiously! First, let me say that I am not a licensed electrician or a certified RV Technician. What I did was tap into the 12V for the overhead oven vent. I used a 3 port Wago Lever Nut. The 12V supply was already there and went into one port. The other port was used for the oven vent and the third port we fed down into the oven for the light. The hardest part was snaking the wire from the overhead down into the oven. It might have seemed easy in the video but probably took 3 hours in real life (that would have made for a very boring video). I used marine grade sheathed wiring and installed rubber grommets where the wires went through the aluminum (yes, I had to cut a hole for the oven wiring). The Wago lever nuts can be found on Amazon - I love them. I hope that helps.

    • @msally64
      @msally64 Год назад

      @@LuvSubbin Thank you for your quick reply and assistance. We use Wago connectors in our home and found them to be a secure and safe way to connect wires. I'll check out the marine grade sheathing wire and purchase some. You inspired us to go on a reconnaissance mission for wiring. We believe we can tap into the 12V line from a water filter that AS installed under the sink (which we tossed out when it became unpredictable). We found the wiring loom under the kitchen drawer in the island, along with a roll of masking tape left in there from the Mothership. (It is similar to an archeology dig. lol) Then we hope we can use fish tape to bring the wire around the cabinetry to the range top. Fingers crossed! Thanks again for your help. BTW We use your "lists" slightly modified for the layout of our 25FB and our departure/arrival routines are going much smoother. "Drive defensively and slowly" So true!

      The most irritating trip was to buy the four #8x15 3/4" screws to secure it. You pay almost $600 for a stove and they don't include the mounting screws?

    • @cottontalesfromthetrail5474
      @cottontalesfromthetrail5474 2 года назад

      @@LuvSubbin That is a great price on the stove. I was afraid to ask the cost. No screws? That is horrible!

    Can you provide a little more information on the dimensions of the old stove and the new one? I'm attempting to replace an Amana stove in my 2004 Airstream with this Furrion. Did most of the measurements line up? It doesn't appear that you had to cut the cabinet/counter. Did you have to shim the sides? How did you shim the bottom?

    • @LuvSubbin
      @LuvSubbin  2 года назад

      Hi Dennis and thanks for watching. We did not have to cut into the cabinet but it was not a perfect fit. From a height perspective, the new stove was 2" shorter. It rests on the cabinet on stainless steel supports but we did not want it to "float" on the bottom. We glued a 2" block under it and had our local machine shop fabricate a stainless steel sheet to cover the gap. It looks great. The depth was also 1" shorter and we covered the rear gap with a similar SS plate. We used the machine shop because I wanted the edges perfectly straight and didn't have the equipment.

    • @LuvSubbin
      @LuvSubbin  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching! LOL, you have to love payload questions....But because you asked, the new stove is about 15 lbs. heavier. However, it is mounted behind the axles. That would reduce tongue weight so my effective payload capacity actually has increased! I'm still about 600 lbs. under my F-150's specified 2,095 lbs...

    • @paultanis7912
      @paultanis7912 2 года назад

      @@LuvSubbin I was hoping you got a chuckle from the question. But I sure thought the new oven weighed less with thinner gauge material they use today to save a few pennies. Oh but it has the glass top? Love the payload stories on Airstream addicts too.

    • @LuvSubbin
      @LuvSubbin  Год назад

      Thanks for watching! The only electricity that the oven requires is for the oven light and it is wired into our 12V system. It is on the same circuit as the overhead exhaust vent.
